  1. *Spectre. Yes, the new James Bond movie. http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/these-migs-were-used-as-usaf-fighter-stand-ins-for-jame-1699157138
  2. "The last major update effort for the A-6E was the "System Weapons Improvement Program (SWIP)", which was focused on support of advanced missile armament, including the AGM-65 Maverick air-to-surface missile, the AGM-84 Harpoon antiship missile and its SLAM cruise missile derivative, and the AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missile. Some other improvements were implemented, such as a fire warning and extinguishing system. Not all SWIP machines received the updated wings. A second-phase element of the SWIP program added new avionics, including a Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation satellite receiver and a head-up display (HUD)." :) http://www.airvectors.net/ava6.html
  3. It may be nothing, but in the FAQ at the end of the update, in response to the question "What is JESTER AI, exactly?" it mentions "and can thus be quickly adapted to other multi-seat aircraft in development." I'm hoping that this means an A-6. Preferably an E model.
  4. Yes! I'm going to have to read Red Storm Rising once more before release. The battle of the Atlantic was by far my favourite part of that book. Just remembering the "Vampire, Vampire, Vampire!" call sends a shiver down my spine. :)
  5. But then you'll have people mispronouncing it. Raiden is pronounced Rye-den (with Rye rhyming with tie, lie, fry). However the MK character, although spelt Raiden, is pronounced Ray-den (many westerners make this pronunciation error).
  6. Any time that I've read the opinions of those that seem to know what they're talking about, they all say the same thing. FSX is great at simulating some of the procedures of flying, such as navigation methods, air traffic control etc. But in terms of flight modelling and combat systems modelling FSX can't even begin to compare with what DCS offers. I highly doubt that anyone familiar with both FSX and DCS would disagree. You might find it difficult to convince FSX fans of that though. PC Pilot magazine (which covers FSX more than it does any other simulator) has advocated the authenticity of DCS on multiple occasions.
  7. Your question has already been answered in this forum. There's a search button in the top right. There is no nose wheel steering in the MiG-21. You need to use differential braking. Happy flying! :)
  8. I would have thought it was obvious that the community news section is for community news, and not the place to ask questions about a Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft. :) Try the Flaming Cliffs 3 section here: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=321
  9. It's not hard to understand. Having air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities would be more exciting/interesting and offer more variety than having only air-to-air capabilities.
  10. That's a bit unfair. I saw somebody trying to help you from getting yourself into trouble.
  11. The frame rate? Or the camera panning? Or the flying?
  12. Agreed. I don't see how there can be any doubt or ambiguity. It's a Tomcat. It is definitely a Tomcat.
  13. Why is this posted in community news?
  14. How would giving away free module licences be a scam?
  15. We already have 3 WWII era aircraft modules, with many more incoming. VEAO are currently working on a Spitfire, a Bearcat, a Warhawk, a Buchon, and a Meteor. VEAO also have plans for a Wildcat, a Typhoon, a Mosquito, an Me109, a Seafire, a Hurricane, a Hawk, a Sea Hawk, and a few more. They are also currently in discussions to develop a Lancaster and a Dakota. Additionally, there's a Normandy map on the way, and VEAO are to develop a North Africa map. DCSW may not currently be a WW2 flight sim, but it soon(ish) will be. That anyone who claims to love WWII era aircraft would object to the continued development of WWII aircraft modules boggles my mind in the extreme.
  16. I wouldn't worry about it. Nobody cares in the slightest. :)
  17. Not just the Top Gun fans. I loved the Tomcat before Top Gun was released. /hipster
  18. Tomcat? To say I'm excited would be massively understating it.
  19. As anyone who uses windows regularly knows, this is simply not true. It hasn't been true for a long time. Replace "Nearly all" with "very few", and "almost always" with "almost never". Supporting desktops / servers / applications is my thing too. edit: Are you talking about legacy software running on obsolete versions of windows? With modern software, especially games, and on modern versions of windows, this is very rare.
  20. The quality of the video is terrible, but sufficient. TiLrxGssBs8?t=56s
