  1. I've said this before, but I think a kickstarter for F/A-18C would be a good idea. The great thing about kickstarter projects is that the developer actually gets the funds they need before they create the product, thus eliminating the problem of gathering money for the development as it goes on. The downside of course is that they need to set a estimated time of when the product will be done, the easy way out would just be to set this further into the future than you think you'll need to complete the module. Just donating money... I don't see that as a realistic alternative to get any meaningful amount of money.
  2. Which pedals are best are really up to the user, but I'm quite happy with my Saitek Pro Flight Combat Pedals. The pedas are made of metal and you can easily adjust tension and also the angle of the pedals.
  3. Yep, the HOTAS Warthog + pedals is the way to go. Pedals is really a must for helicopters, and it's pretty important for the A-10 too, when taking off, landing and when aiming the gun/rockets.
  4. No, we don't need any updates, don't you people realize the the time spent for creating updates could go towards developing hardcore modules instead! I'd rather be kept in the dark if it makes new stuff come out a few minutes earlier!!
  5. I've tried the track, and I get pretty bad frame rate in the beginning when the view is on the action, about 12 to 16 fps, around 20 when not looking at the action. After you took off the frame rate increased, even as you were watching the action, 30-35 fps. My guess is that there's just a bit too much going on at the same time the start of the mission. These are my settings: My PC specs are in my sig.
  6. The flight sim market is very limited of course, but it still seems as though ED is taking a risk not getting a a hardcore fast mover released as soon as possible. As time goes by it gets more likely (at least statistically) that another developer comes around with a product that will attract the Falcon crowd. I suspect that there could be quite a few pennies to earn for the first one out with something that attracts them... :)
  7. Both of you should realize that when you buy something the developer does not know that you bought it just to support them in developing something else that you really want, from the developers point of view it will only seem as though what people really want is the medium fidelity modules such as FC3.
  8. I like ED, but at the same time I agree with you. By purchasing things you don't really want you're quite possibly making it less likely that you will get what you want in the end.
  9. I think this is a difficult road to walk. We as customers that want the "hardcore" modules have two options: Buy the medium fidelity modules to support ED and give them more money to use for the development of the modules we want. Don't buy the medium fidelity modules to show the developer that we're waiting for the hardcore stuff. Unfortunately, these options seems to be a text book catch-22. If you go with option 1 you end up strengthening the notion that most people want the medium fidelity modules, something that may make ED more likely to put more money and development time on those modules. If you go with option 2 however, ED might not get the money they need for developing the hardcore modules and they will still be forced to put more effort towards medium fidelity modules. Really, we should get a question when we buy a module. Why are you buying this module? I want to fly/drive one or more of the aircraft/vehicles in this module. I want ED to take my money and use it to get the hardcore modules released faster!
  10. It would probably not be a bad idea for ED to create a kickstarter campaign for the F/A-18C, my guess is that they would get a fairly large sum of money...
  11. I'm sure someone can use the cobra in combat in a useful manner.
  12. Is there really statistics for that? Do you really know if someone buys FC3 for the A-10 or for for the MiG-29?
  13. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed, but there's no point in denying the truth, it will be a very very long time before we have both an American and a Russian fighter with top fidelity to fly. DCS is fantastic, it captures the essence of war very accurately - mostly waiting. ;)
  14. Yeah, I bet they're planning and laughing right now about what to have in the next update that will get our little minds spinning :D
  15. The best part 0:20 - 0:28
  16. In CCRP, the bombs will drop on the SPI, it's that simple.
  17. What kind of weapon was it that was fired against you? The lights are only warning for lasers I believe.
  18. No, that i5 is great, just get a good cooler and you will be able to overclock a lot.
  19. Could you create a track file of when your machine gives bad performance? Then we can run that on our machines and see if we get bad performance too. It's not certain that it's your machine, because honestly that Xeon isn't super bad and your graphics card is pretty good.
  20. Try installing BS2 from outside the game (not with the module manager), remember to chose "Upgrade from BS1...". And if you don't really want BS1 you can do this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1744658&postcount=28
  21. Ah, I just had to run update "DCS_updater.exe update" again and it installed the update.
