  3. I have a question or three :D. Caveat: BTW I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth and I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into the patch. First: There is no mention of multiplayer stability fixes, has this been addressed and can you speak to what issues were fixed? Second: If possible please bring back "satellite" view for the ME. It makes it a lot easier to place objects in the mission. You don't have to keep starting the mission to ensure the proper placement. Third: Please add "or" into the "if" and "then" programming logic that is part of the trigger system. For example if I have a unit inside a zone and I set a flag to true, it stays that way unless I add a statement that sets to false when he's outside. If I want to add other units to those statements then all of the units have to be inside or outside to make the flag true or false(I hope that made sense). The "or" operator would allow for greater flexibility with the triggers.

  5. You have the wrong log try net.server.log. This is what it looks like
  6. AFAIK commview is just a sniffer. You'll have to use a firewall or security policy to actually block an IP.
  7. The problem is people can change their MAC addresses also. http://www.gorlani.com/publicprj/macmakeup/macmakeup.asp It would work better to allow only certain addresses--but then your doing the same thing as passwording. Blocking a range of IP's is usually most effective. Its easy with the net.server log to narrow the range so that your not blocking a large group of players. As long as you stay on top of your moderating usually the offenders decide to behave, or get tired and go elsewhere.
  8. Protowall works well depending on your network card. Its also easy to use. If you need help installing it and learning how to use it let me know. If you have a WinXP or Server 2003 machine, you can add a security policy in the group policy editor. This allows you to add IP bans without third party software. PM me if you want help and I'll walk you through it on TS or over the phone.

I'm a few days late... Happy Belated Birthday!!
  10. This type of discussion is ridiculous. This IS A SIMULATION. I enjoy certain aspects of battle, especially those that are afforded to me in a virtual (computer) environment. Therefore the discussion of whats relevant outside the computer world is irrelevant. Lets leave it at that.
  11. I thought of difficult... then I kicked it up a notch... I always hated the individual Buk launchers on the 169th map, but I've found a new love for them in this mission...
  12. It was recently brought to my attention that some would like the server messages removed on the 159th_Dedi, in the name of realism. I'm putting up this poll, so I can get an idea of what the community wants. Please vote and explain.
  13. The IP addresses are stored in the net.server log in the Temp files. This file is reset everytime you press 'disconnect' in the gui, so make sure you look for the addresses before you change missions or shut down the game. If you want, PM me and I can send you a list of the IP's banned on the 159th Dedicated Server.
  14. New Version 2.0 Now Running I realized that it was too easy to cross the river and enter into enemy territory. I added 100+ Manpads on each side, embedded in the towns on each side of the river. This should keep the casual wanderer from straying to far. You will need to clear the towns before you can move forward and you will need to be cautious!! The town of Dzhvari is still empty so dependant on how soon either side completes their objectives and provides CAS in the area will have an impact on who wins the battle. S!
  15. I was able to view the server track file. I spawn in as a client at 10:07 or 1 hour 7 minutes into the mission/track file. The F-18 spawns in at the same time and I'm shot down 2 minutes later.
  16. The 159th Dedicated Server crashed today and I have provided both the crash log and the event viewer log. We had some odd things happen after the crash that I wanted to bring your attention to. We rebooted the server and re-launched DCS. I started a new mission and it ran for about 2 hours. In this mission I have a trigger that spawns a blue F-18 CAP if any Red Ka-50's enter within 15km of the Blue Ships. I joined the mission as a Blue Ka-50. It spawned the Blue F-18 and it shot me down at close range with an AIM-120C. No other Red Helicopters were in the area. I tried to view the client track, but it would not play. I have enclosed the server track and the mission for you to view. I had to upload the .rar file to Rapidshare becasue it exceeds 1.0MB http://rapidshare.com/files/194048791/159th_Crash_and_Artifacts.zip.html
  17. I dont suppose there is a .lua edit we can make in the short term to restrict this, before the patch is out? If someone from the team could comment, that would be great. EDIT IT IS NOT FIXED. I just forced externals off on both options.lua, me_options.lua, and me_misoptions.lua and server side I am unable to get this view (server side). HOWEVER If I join as a client and get in pit I get this chase cam view with Left Shift+ F4. I can't zoom in or out but can switch view to any player or aircraft in game.
  18. I drove past the Denny's in Pacific Beach this morning and was freaking pandamonium.... I wonder if they'll make up their profits in coffee?! BTW, Last time I ate there, I had a skillet and I projectile vomited so hard about an hour later that I swore I'd never eat their again.

  20. Hi ED, I just wanted to make sure you have seen the post. Thanks!
  21. Gents, We've been experiencing rather frequent crashes in multiplayer whenever we rotate missions. If we choose the option 'select mission' it doesn't crash the server, but will routinely crash the clients. If we choose the option 'disconnect,' it will crash the server and the clients are fine. I've win-rar'd the crash log in the DCS temp files along with the application logs in the event viewer for the server. Here are the 159th_Dedi's stats: AMD 3200+ 2.2 GHz 1.00 GB RAM nVidia FX 5200 Windows Server 2003 RAdmin 2.0 ISP Connection Speed 60GB/s up and down. 159th Dedi Crash Files.rar
  22. If its not noticeable, I would thank the mech who did your track and balance... :D
