I have been searching for a squadron to fly with for a while. Most recently i was with an EU based squadron which was great, but the 1830Z (2230gulf) winter start time made it too difficult for me to take part in missions (i did try). I am proficient with the Hornet including carrier ops (case 1-3) and AAR. Ideally a semi-realistic squadron but at this point I just want to fly with Humans. I would be hesitant to change platforms but I could be persuaded.

I have a 6900xt (3700X, X570 mobo and 32GB 3200Ram). I played around a lot with settings and have a stable OC on my GPU at 2640MHz. My headset is a ViVE Cosmos Elite. I found the secret to great frames and graphis was to turn down the PD in DCS all the way to minimum and push the SteamVR SS to 500%. I get a smooth 45Fps low down in most areas but it drops down to about 30 over places like Homs in the Syria Map.

I just got the Elite recently and don't regret it. It is however my first entry into VR so have little to compare it to. Tracking is great, image quality is great, however my gpu is not really powerful enough for DCS VR. Prior to this patch and with lots of tweaking i was getting 30-40 FPS. In other games graphics are great. If i am honest though and all VR headsets were available (XD) i would have bought the index or rift s. Boredom and COVID lockdown make for crazy decisions. Either way, i am very happy with it.

great document, thanks. One thing though. I am pretty sure the BRA callouts are in feet so 11000 would be 11000 feet not 11Km. I could be wrong here but as i say i am pretty sure. This always annoys me as the gauges on the 21 are in metres so I always have to convert.

yeah i have tried escape. i can get to the briefing screen but never an opportunity to select aircraft.

recently i have been having issues on multiplayer. 2 things occur frequently. 1)i load into MP and select a server. I get the mission loading screen and then i find myself in the f10 map view but without the map. I see the Bullseye markers and the map tools but the plane select screen does not appear. I just get the DCS loading screen instead of the map (HUD with clouds around it) but with bullseye markers overlaying it. 2) i get "sever ping timeout" or "connection interrupted" message booting me. I live in China and try to play on the 104th as its is the only really populated server. I have my connection set to Lan and my ping is usually 230-270, although i have got booted on occasion for legit reasons (ping over 300). any ideas???

would it not be prudent to wait for DCS2.0? Don't get me wrong I am in awe of all people that are willing to invest time in Modding and I hope you continue. However, Last i heard DCS is moving away from .lua when 2.0 comes in which is "just around the corner". I am not that software/code savvy to be able to have a valid opinion but won't any mods be rendered useless if DCS does move away from .lua? maybe i was drunk when i read that somewhere or maybe i have no idea what i am talking about....

Uff, most of my landings have also been quite heavy. I have been trying to pull up to a 1-2m/s descent just before the ground but then I often end up flying to far down the runway and have to go around. Stupidly I tried to do the PRMG landing instant action mission to practice. That was one of the scariest things i have ever done (yes i have not lived much :P). After the first go around I found myself back in the clouds at 800m, very disorientated I looked down at my instruments to find I was descending at 30m/s and my ground collision warning starts blaring. I look at my AGL to see I'm rapidly approaching 100m. I used instruments to regain some sense of direction (by flapping the stick around in a panic) and managed to get back on the glide slope. Finally out of the clouds I see the runway and bank sharply, airbrake, flaps and gear. I get to first marker on a good line only to find my engine has cut out as I have run out of fuel. Ejected about 30m above the ground. :doh: I'm still cleaning the S%&t from my pants. edit: oh and xxJohnxx thanks a lot for the videos. They have been a massive help.

Sooo excited and pleased that we finally have release date. I am only disappointed that my PC will not have arrived by then. :cry: Oh Well will just have to read the manual over and over and over.......:book:

All the pictures do look absolutely stunning. I am just sad that my pc is on its way to my new home in china and i won't have it for about 2-3 months :( . I am of course assuming that the mig will be out by then....and EDGE too ;)

Thanks, that is what i have been using to check which sites work. I am confident the site works so i can buy modules but i am not that aware about how using servers etc works. I thought that VPN's just circumvent browser connection issues and have no effect on online gameplay/downloading etc. I feel kind of silly really as i consider myself a tech savvy guy but i have no idea about networking really.

From what i can see the website is available so i assume all is ok but i am just wondering. I am moving to the PRC for work in the next few weeks and am wondering if anyone knows whether or not there are any issues with buying products, updating and connecting to MP servers over there? I may cry if there is bad news...

yes but i am sure its at EDs request. Why ED couldn't say "ok release with 1.2.8.xxx (or whatever) and then start EDGe integration" .... Of course in truth i have NO IDEA what is going on :helpsmilie:

I check this forum far too often for any update/news/release date and although I too am very frustrated to be still waiting for this module, I promise I will be one of the first to buy when it comes out. However I am curious as to why ED have delayed the module? I say ED due to the fact that by all accounts LN were ready to release weeks ago pending final testing/integration in DCS world. Unless there were serious issues that ED weren't happy with I do wonder why ED put the breaks on this release? With the Dora, Hawk, Sabre etc set for release soon it would make more sense to me to stagger the releases (as has been suggested). I would imagine that in this scenario LN must be feeling quite frustrated too. I ended up buying the F-15C the other day thinking it would satiate my hunger for a fast mover but I just got bored with the lack of depth. manual would be nice in the meantime.....:music_whistling::music_whistling:

RIAT was great. some planes missing which was a shame. Red Arrows i have to say were spectacular. Too many f-16's though in my opinion. will make a video montage of some (crappy probably) footage and post at some point.

F-35 is still on the schedule according to website etc. It would be great to see i have to say even though it is turning into a right calamity in general. So much negative press that i wonder how much of it is true.........
