  1. The majority of fighters can dump fuel, they all can't ignite it, thats all. The F-111s dump and burn does not use up fuel any faster by igniting fuel that has already left the fuel tanks. An F-15 can dump and burn, the fuel will dump from the right wing tip, it cn go to full AB, but nothing will happen. It is still using up fuel as fast as it possibly can. Although not really a dump and burn. Only Austriallian F-111 pilots do dump and burns at air shows. USAF pilots used to do it (when they had F-111s) very briefly before it was banned in the US.
  2. I think the Tomcat could do dump & burns, the engines are a little to far apart, I think, so the pilot would have to yaw to one side. That would be a nice send off for the last flying F-14.
  3. The R-33 is actually not that great as a missile, give me an R-27ER any day. The R-37 on the other hand, well......... if was compatable with the N001 radar..........
  4. Thats called IFF. NCTR is different and IDs aircraft by type and model. No Russian jets have NCTR.
  5. Yes, NCTR is limited on the F-15C. It's limited to STT, I think there is an altitude difference limit and it has to be head on aspect and within 40 miles. IIRC
  6. You learn a lot of stuff everyday here people.:smartass:
  7. Thing is, if in wartime and you find an APG-77 pop up on your RWR, chances are that Raptor is after datalinking your position to other Raptors operating radar silent. Scarry thought. They then move into good firing positions while you try to jam and break lock. They then launch their missiles, possibly guided by the first Raptor's radar. All of a sudden AMRAAMs just pop up and..... bam.
  8. Yeah, like the HUD in the F-15E, now that thing is class. Plus HUDs are not going to be on the F-22 once the JHMCS is fully deleloped, the HUDs will be removed on earlier versions and F-35 has no HUD at all.
  9. Yep the prices in 939 socket have droppprd by 50% where I live, this is great. But AM2 is the way to go upgrade now and you have lots of future upgrade poetntial.
  10. Just a thought, all those rounds have got to land somewhere and we can only see the tracers which are about 10% of all the rounds that are flying up there.
  11. I have a text refference here saying that ''the M2.5 requirement was reached in theory, but when armed with missiles speed was limited to M1.78.'' I was supprised by that. I assume they were AIM-7s they were reffering to. I take it the tests were done without pylons to avoid any risk of damaging them.
  12. Same here, from around 15-20k and above. And isn't FLxx more civilian term and the military use Angels. e.g Angels 20.
  13. Well, if they build the model in parts similar to putting a real fighter together in the final assembly stages if should be relatively easy to make a F-15C out of an E because all the hard work is done on the E. Just remove the CFTs, LANTIRN pylons and change the canopy and canopy spine base, and your done. It's a good amount of work for one person to do. I'm looking foward to whenever that model gets done. I'm not holding my breath though.
  14. About the flight model. There is another flaw. In LO it is impossible to fly with one engine shut down and the other in full AB is a straight line with full opposite rudder deflection. In Steve Davis's Strike Eagle book the test pilots of the F-15E are quoted as stating that 100% opposite rudder deflection was found to be not needed to keep flying straight when flying on one engine in AB and the other dead. It does not say if it is a -220 or -229 powered Eagle. Which would imply and the rudders do not command as much authority as they should in LO.
  15. That must make the F-15 a very dangerous fighter then,:P
  16. It's a standard TER that has a missile on it for some reason. I saw that on a Spanish EF-18 before aswell, a TER with a missile in that same position.
  17. It may be because you upgraded your system. Starforce checks your PC specs all the time and if it has changed a lot you need to get a new CD key from ED. But this should not happen from just a CPU upgrade. Did you change or upgrade anything else since you got FC, eg graphics card, RAM etc. Thats my theory.
  18. Thats a Superhornet pit, the Hornet's is a little less advanced. eg the UFC touch screen and engine management LCD.
  19. The -229 fitted to the F-15E is also fitted to the Block 52 F-16s and is now being installed in the Block 42s aswell as the -220s are not powerful enough for the Block 42s heavily armed in hot weather.
  20. It's ment to be in it's element up high due to it's massive wings.
  21. Good to hear. Thats about 13,000lbs of JP4 on the fire right there. I'm off to get the popcorn.:D
  22. I cases like that the Cobra would probably sit tight, lase the target and call in fighter support like USMC did all the time with F/A-18s in OIF.
  23. Flankers can be fitted with the Litening II pod aswell. The MKI has been seen with them alot lately.
