  1. Has anyone tried the current version of SRS with an a-10? does not seem to work. You can hear others on the channel but they can't hear you/you can't xmit.
  2. You need to click the joystick column in the game, then click load profile on the top right.
  3. For the love of god, stop using command one actual as a callsign. If he is supposed to be the commanding officer of a tactical maneuver unit it should be a simple random word followed by 6. You don't use "actual" on coms unless your taking over from your RTO or something.
  4. Me and two friends playing this mission, with TARs. Good mission, my suggestion for future versions: Raise cloud base.
  5. Interesting. Well I played them in 1.0.0.9 (refuse to install the new patch) with a friend and they worked as intended. You need to give them enough time to do it though, if you take off before the German Tornados at base, it'll be delayed substantially.
  6. There are buttons to begin recording HUD/TVM on the left side the cockpit. DO these have any functionality?
  7. I wish this worked in 1.0.0.9 >_< ME and my friends rolled back due to the FPS problems with the latest patch. I played it on 1.0.1.0 and it was quite cool. CTD for 1.0.0.9 though. I know I can't expect you to support old versions of the game, but just sayin.
  8. SPI Sensor point of interest, you basically flag a sensor of interest as the primary sensor, then all other sensors can be slaved to it. For example, if you slave all sensors to the TGP, your maverick will see the same thing the TGP does. You do tms-up long with any sensor as sensor of interest (SOI) to make it SPI. How to Use Mavericks: Concept You will use the TGP to find shit. You will make the TGP SPI so you can slave all sensors to it. You will use the slaved maverick to kill shit. How to Use Mavericks: Checklist Find something you want to kill. A common occurrence is to have the JTAC send you data. If this happens make the TAD the SOI, slew to the red triangle, tms up short to hook it, then tms up long to make it SPI. Then press china hat forward long to slave all sensors to SPI. Now your TGP will be looking at the position the JTAC wants you to attack. Make TGP SOI and find the target. Now make the TGP SPI (tms up long). Switch to Maverick, china hat forward long to slave all sensors to SPI (which is currently TGP). The maverick will now slave onto what the TGP is looking at. Tap tms up short to lock onto the target. You might have to expand the maverick view by tapping china hat forward short in order for it to lock. Keep tapping tms up short until it locks on, it'll wiggle a bit and you'll know its locked on. Pickle. If there are other targets nearby (like a column) you can return to the SPI by pressing china hat forward long and then slew the sensor onto a nearby target. IT should snap onto them. If you need to ground stabilize the maverick (stop it from slewing) press TMS down. Its really hard to use the maverick sensor at ranges shorter than 7 miles. Tips When you visually find shit you want to kill, switch to TGP on the left MFD and keep the maverick on the right MFD. Now you can just move the TGP from one target to another and you will always know if the TGP is aligned properly. Sometimes the TGP gimbals can roll and go off the target, or you will be masked so long that it will go inertial and float off the target. You should know about this as its happening, not when you try to fire your maverick, so make sure you can see the TGP. When you make the TGP SPI you will no longer be able to return to the original position of the target area like you did with the TAD as SPI. So in order to get a reference for the general target area press tms-right when you are first looking at the area to make a mark point. You will see a lettered waypoint on your map (the first markpoint is A, the second is B, etc). If you ever get lost you can just rehook the markpoint, make it spi, then slave all sensors to it. OR you can switch the knob under your CDU (keyboard/screen on the bottom right of the cockpit) to "markpoint" and then the flightplan will only include markpoints. Dms left long to share your SPI with your team mates so they can see it. If you want to use the maverick off boresight, press china hat down short. This will return the mav seeker to your boresight, then you can make it or the hud SOI and slew it around manually.
  9. Speaking of which, is there anyway to zoom in on the hud, like with * and / on the numpad, but using trackir? I wonder if there is a "Smart" hud zoom feature where if you move your head toward the hud it zooms in but returns when you back off. Falcon 4 BMS has this down properly - and I wonder if there is some setting in DCS to pull it off.
  10. Thanks a lot! There are a lot of little things like this that a lot of people aren't keen on. Will be a lot easier to do gun runs now.
  11. When you put your gun piper over your SPI/TGP the SPI/tgp disappear. Anyway to stop it from doing that?
  12. Hey guys. I am moving and need a more mobile setup, which means a laptop. Was wondering if any of you guys placed DCS a-10 on a laptop. My budget is $1100 or less, hopefully a 17''+ monitor (preferably at least 19). Any suggestions/input? The idea is to get a good gaming laptop but not go overboard.
  13. +1 As I said in my previous post, I would really like to know about this as well.
  14. Questionable business ethics and model, but i'm still going to buy the JTAC and nevada add-ons. I think the former will be especially amazing. Nevada will be nice, but the JTAC thing will change the game completely. I really hope you guys have the SADL uplink and don't just give us what was already in the beta. You should be able to xmit data. From what I understand this was not possible in beta.
  15. Well? I found one way is to make a mark point, make it SPI, then hover the TAD cursor over another ship and click send on TAD, but that seems very cumbersome, is there an easier HOTAS way of sending a mark point to everyone in your flight?
  16. Yeah I pretty much figured the same after playing around for the past 20 minutes .Thanks.
  17. So.. I found this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=73891 For those who are wondering you can locate a place n the map you want to see by just loading an empty new mission, flying it, then in the map screen going to where you want, left ctrl-f11, then use numpad / and * to zoom around
  18. As title. Is there anyway to freely fly aorund the map to look at terrain for mission editing?
  19. OK so, my original question as applied to an actual mission I am working on: 1. I want to have a persistent OOB throughout a campaign, hopefully in multiplayer 2. My idea would be ot have a myCampaign.txt file which the host has 3. Mission #1 goes, then at the end checks to see if certain units are alive, then outputs variables plt1dead = true, plt2dead = true to the txt file 4. Mission #2 opens and reads myCampaign.txt and then has triggers/conditions for units to be deleted Is any/all of that possible? Also is there an index of all DCS a-10 functions anywhere?
