  1. 14 January 2022 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are delighted to introduce the MB-339A Aermacchi by IndiaFoxEcho as an addition to our DCS aircraft line up. The MB-339 is a single engine, twin seat, jet trainer and light ground support aircraft which entered service in the early 80's - the primary user is the Italian Air Force. This advanced trainer has superb flying qualities and we are certain that you will enjoy it’s excellent capabilities. We are also pleased to share more exciting progress being made by our third party partners Magnitude 3 with the DCS: F4U-1D Corsair as well as their Essex Class aircraft carrier. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team MB-339A Evaluation The MB-339 also took part in the Falklands-Malvinas war with the Armada de la República Argentina (Argentina Navy) and was also used by the Eritrean Air Force in various roles, against rebels, smugglers, and even against the Ethiopian Air Force. Today, the MB-339 is also used by “Al Fursan” (“The Knights”) UAE’s national aerobatic team and by the “Frecce Tricolori” Italian national aerobatic team. The MB-339 is the only jet aircraft capable of performing the famous Lomcovák manoeuvre. The MB-339 for DCS aims to be the most realistic simulation of this aircraft ever made for PC, not only in terms of system functionality and performance but especially flight model. Currently, the aircraft is in it’s internal test phase and is continuously being improved as new features are being added. F4U-1D Corsair Development Report Magnitude 3 is currently working on detailed cockpit illumination and warnings which should reflect which specific lights are turned on, their intensity and the phosphorus radium glow variability of each instrument. The airframe’s damage model is in the early stage of development whereas the flight model and systems are mostly complete, and being fine-tuned to a high degree of realism. The Essex Class Carrier is nearing completion and features working lifts, a detailed and functioning hangar and damage model. The final stage of development for implementation of the hydraulic catapults utilising the bridal cables is being worked on. DCS World 3D Models We are happy to provide you with progress on the new models for the B-1B Lancer, B-52H Stratofortress and S-3B Viking. These will be available free as part of DCS. With the recent Open Beta 2.7.9 release, we are pleased to announce substantial new DCS: AJS-37 Viggen features as well as improvements to both the FW 190s and new RP-3 armament for DCS: Mosquito FB VI. Updates to the NS 430 Navigation System have also been made, including the use of the flat version in VR. You may also notice the new RP-3 rockets on the Mosquito. A number of long awaited graphical issues are also resolved, especially for the FW 190 Dora and Anton. We look forward to your comments. AH-64D Development Progress The Stability and Command Augmentation System (SCAS) systems are similar in some ways to those in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 and DCS: Mi-24P. These complex systems are currently in advanced development and one of our highest priorities for our AH-64D to perform and “feel” like the real thing. In parallel, we are also implementing the initial damage model with its effect on systems: flight control, and damage and detachment of surfaces, tail boom, stub wings, and main landing gear. A very useful page of the MFDs is the Tactical Situation display (TSD) for both navigation and points. This important update will include substantial work to DCS: AJS-37 Viggen and additions to DCS: F-14A/B Tomcat. As planned, we will include a large number of new features for DCS: F-16C Viper as well as an important batch of open WWII enhancements. DCS: Voice Chat is a comprehensive approach to radio communication in DCS World and should be available in the upcoming OB. This capability has been in the works for more than two years and will bring voice compatibility across the platform. We continue to test it thoroughly whilst encouraging our 3rd party developers to configure their modules accordingly. We are confident that this component will add a simple and powerful communication layer to DCS and we very much look forward to your feedback. Voice Chat Development Progress In the next Open Beta release, we will deliver a major update to integrated radio communications. Voice Chat operates natively within DCS and no additional software or instals are required. Please bear in mind that enhancements will be ongoing and we appreciate your patience and bug reporting as we continue developing this complex communication stack. We will also be adding radio communication to the Combined Arms roles, ground units, ATC, and AWACS. Further development will contain encrypted communication noises, clicks, distortions and voice synthesising in real time and more. Open Beta 2.7.9 Development Progress As the end of the year approaches, the upcoming Open Beta will mark an important update to DCS World.   4. 10 December 2021 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are excited to share with you an overview of the new features that are imminently inbound to DCS: F-16C Viper. In the next Open Beta update you can expect the HSD Cursor, the ECM Pod, new air-to -ground features for the helmet and semi-automatic and automatic countermeasure programs. Also, look out for significant improvements to the FLIR picture. We now have considerable CFD research results for DCS: AH-64D that are being used for flight modeling corrections. Effort and time was spent on implementing tail rotor parameters, which have sophisticated the dependency on tail rotor pitch, tail rotor AoA, airspeed and tail rotor efficiency during flow deceleration in straight flight. Please read the details below and get familiar with Matt Wagner's video on the Basics of the Tactical Situation Display. We will continue to improve the FLIR image with the launch of DCS: AH-64D. It is with great pleasure that we can guarantee you the arrival of the ECM Pod, a very much improved HSD cursor, new AG features for the helmet and semi-automatic and automatic countermeasure programs. Also, keep your eyes peeled for an updated FLIR picture. AH-64D Development Progress Dynamic Modelling Currently we have achieved satisfactory flight dynamics parameters resulting from payload, fuel quantity, aerodynamic surfaces (wings, fin, horizontal stabilizer) and main gear. Any changes of payload or fuel affect the center of gravity horizontally and vertically which in turn changes inertia, controllability and balance state of the helicopter in flight. Overall, the AH-64D Flight Modeling is step by step approaching an excellent level of “realism” and our SMEs are enthusiastic with the results to date. Each and every correction or modification step in the flight model (tail rotor characteristics change for instance) requires another run of the checks for balancing characteristics and flight dynamics. Because of that we are constantly doing test flights and correcting inaccuracies. If you have not already, please check out the next video in the tutorial series: DCS: AH-64D | TSD Basics. 3D Models Development Progress We have prepared a preview of the appearance of 3D ground units to infrared sensors. In the above screenshots, you may notice attention has been made to the signature of tires, which increase in brightness based on distance driven over various terrain types. We are doing our best to consider the shape and size of the objects, temperature, reflection of external sources. Infrared signatures vary significantly with changing season, time of day and engine loading. The guns, cannons and engines will also emit contrasting radiant intensities and cooling times will also be part of the overall FLIR improvements, coming soon. This new FM, which we have named General Flight Model (GFM), will initially be rolled out across all fighter jets and then step by step to WWII AI aircraft. Note that our Helicopter AI FM is already flying with a similar GFM using Rigid Body Physics, contact model and complex rotor physics. This extensive development is still very much work in progress and we look forward to providing you more details in the new year. We are using DCS: MiG-29S Fulcrum C as an effective test bed for developing the characteristics of crosswind take off and landing, strafing, re-joining formations, general aerobatics, turbulent conditions and air-to -air engagement. Hurry, offer ends on the 6th of December at 15:00 GMT. Mi-24P Hind Development Progress Progress on the new Mi-24 pilot is going smoothly. In the screenshots above you can see flight gloves and a Soviet navigator's watch. In 1976, the First Moscow Watch Factory (Poljot Watch Factory) began production of a new stopwatch: the Navigator chronograph model 3133. This model was produced in limited numbers for the military and is currently not available for sale. We are also modelling the S-4U rescue parachute designed for pilots with a total mass of up to 120 kg. The parachute is immediately deployed after separation from the aircraft during horizontal flight at speeds of up to 400km/hour and at altitudes between 70m to 4000m. General Flight Model Development Report Before describing our new General Flight Model (GFM) for AI, it may be useful to review the development history of flight models in DCS since inception. Initially, we used a trajectory model called Standard (SFM) for human players and a very simple model for AI which used primitive laws of physics. Eventually, the Advanced Flight Model (AFM) and its successor, the Professional Flight model (PFM) were developed and the SFM was adapted for AI aircraft. Although SFM produces accurate trajectory parameters such as turn rate, specific excess power, flight envelope, etc. it suffers from a lack of natural short-period movement and switched models for ground and flight. Expanding the use of PFM or even AFM for AI aircraft wouldn’t be smart due to several key factors, notably AFM and PFM both require substantial work to create each individual aircraft flight data model. In addition, processor workload for runtime data in the mission would be excessive and greatly affect performance, especially when many different aircraft are present in the mission. The approach in our new GFM will deliver accurate AI trajectory performance and copy the PFM’s short-period characteristics from the player-controlled models that we already have. The GFM ‘pilot’ will use the same control surface deflection as PFM and can naturally stall and spin as well; the GFM also experiences air turbulence. It is interesting to note that the short period characteristics of the new models also naturally depend on Mach numbers. The greatest challenge when starting the work on GFM was creating a unique multi-level autopilot system capable of controlling any and all aircraft. Unlike standard autopilot programming approaches, which demand that each aircraft be adjusted individually, the new approach permits automatic use of aircraft flight parameters. This saves substantial time and delivers more accurate and realistic auto-pilot behaviour that is particularly appreciated for trans-sonic and supersonic regime changes, which now no longer require substantial tuning. This fundamental work required about two years of programming with formation flying alone requiring an additional 5 months of intense development. The main task was to teach the AI to fly correctly but not as a supernatural drone but rather as a human pilot would, including micro-delays, errors and limitations. Soon, every pilot can practice the formation lead role and develop highly realistic skills without having to play online and depend on inadequate wingmen to hone his talent. All ordinary tasks such as takeoff, landing, aerial combat, ground strikes and bombing were also entirely re-written. Implementation is expected during 2022. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team AH-64D Development Report Powerplant The detailed model of the T700-GE-701C powerplant, its Hydromechanical Unit (HMU), and Digital Electronic Control Unit (DECU) have been developed. This includes the compressor and its hydromechanical unit, compressor turbine, combustion chamber, and power-turbine. Calculations of the angle of attack on both the compressor and turbine blades allow us to determine dependencies between the power-turbine state (main rotor RPM rise or fall for instance) and the state of the compressor, which in turn affects the behaviour of the power-turbine. This allows our model to closely match realistic behaviour in the transition processes for speed changes, main rotor pitch changes, and anti-torque pedal routines. The engine, DECU and main rotor characteristics modeling have achieved an accuracy error of 2-3% for documented normal flight parameters and 4-5% for emergency flight regimes and environments (high temp. from 35°С and above as well as high altitude low density regimes). Engine, Flight and Fuel Pages The Engine page provides important data on the aircraft's engine torque, temperatures, RPM, and main rotor speed. The Flight page includes heads-down information on the performance of the aircraft with the ability to set important mission flight data. The fuel page includes an intuitive display of the fuel storage, flow and transfer systems.   8. 12 November 2021 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We continue refining our AIM-120 AMRAAM with much improved velocity search and tracking algorithms. This development should be available to you in the next Open Beta 2.7.8 update. In the new year, we plan to replace the entire line of pilot models for Russian aircraft and helicopters. This week we are pleased to share our progress on the ZSH-7AP helmet that will initially be available with DCS: Mi-24P Hind. Please check out the screenshots below. We are currently working on the TADS/PNVS combined sensor and targeting unit. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team AIM-120 AMRAAM Development Progress Thank you for your continued patience and support since the initial release of the updated AMRAAM model. This sophisticated weapon has demanded quite deep remodelling and debugging and we found several issues in the missile velocity search and tracking algorithms. We have also made substantial improvements to HOJ and visual modes. The next stages of development are realistic range gating modelling to enhance the missile's onboard radar to contend with strong ground clutter returns. Mi-24P Pilot Development Progress Progress on the new pilot model for the VKS and the Armed Forces of Russia is going well and the replacement of the entire line of pilots for Russian helicopters and airplanes in the early part of the new year is on track. In the screenshots presented, you can see the ZSH-7AP helmet for the MiG-29, Su-27 and Su-33 fighters with the KM-35 oxygen mask and the NVU-7 helmet sighting device. The helicopter version of the ZSH-7AP helmet is equipped with the DMSH boom microphone for the Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters. AH-64D Development Progress The Target Acquisition and Designation Sight (TADS) is equipped with a stabilised daylight television camera, a Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera, and a laser rangefinder / target designator for targeting by displaying video to crewmembers’ Helmet Display Unit (HDU) or TEDAC Display Unit (TDU). It can also be displayed on the Multi-Purpose Displays. The TADS FLIR can also be used as a Night Vision Sensor for night flying by either crewmember. This allows the TADS to be slaved to the helmet line of sight of either crew member for nap-of-earth flying under near total darkness. The TADS cameras have multiple fields of view that allow the operators to see large areas for enhanced situational awareness or zoomed in for precise targeting at long ranges. The DCS: AH-64D TADS FLIR camera is also being developed to showcase our new FLIR rendering technology that will provide a much improved and more realistic portrayal of the world as seen through infrared. This same technology will also be used for other FLIR sensors in DCS targeting pods such as the infrared-guided Maverick missiles. DCS: AH-64D Development Progress IHADSS HDU Integrated Helmet and Designation and Sighting System is the monocular device that transmits flight data and night vision to the pilot and co-pilot gunner. There are four IHADSS modes: cruise, transition, hover and bob-up. Each with associated flight, navigation, weapon, sensor and targeting information that follows the crew member’s sight. The Modernized Pilot Night Vision System (M-PNVS) can also be projected to the monocle for thermal night vision along the pilot’s line of sight. Watch the latest: DCS: AH-64D HDU/IHADSS Tutorial. Warbirds & The Channel Bundle up In the past two weeks we have focused on resolving some of the outstanding bugs in our WWII modules. Many of these fixes are now available in 2.7.7. Stable. This work will be ongoing for the foreseeable future and we hope to bring you more detailed feedback in upcoming news. Mi-24P Hind Development Progress DCS: Mi-24P Hind has introduced three variations of the Ataka AT-9 Spiral-2 Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM), these are; 9M120 – Tandem HEAT warhead that is about 10% less powerful than the Vikhr ATGM. 9M120F – High Explosive warhead for use against soft targets and light armor. 9M220O – For use against helo targets and equipped with a proximity fuse. We are also improving the flying capabilities of the Petrovich AI. Currently, these changes are undergoing testing, and we plan to include them in the next patch. Changes will cover better turn coordination, nap of the earth flying, smoothing of certain flight transitions, vertical take off/landing, and ATGM hover attack maneuvers. The ATGM guidance unit in the Pilot-Operator’s cockpit is undergoing an update, and gyroscopic damping is being tuned based on input from SMEs. Marianas Development Progress DCS: Marianas has received a large update that includes new islands to the north of Saipan. These largely uninhabited, volcanic atolls include: Anatahan Sarigan Guguan Alamagan Pagan Agrihan Asuncion Maug Islands (North, East and West Islands) Farallon de Pajaros The update also includes breaking waves against shorelines, an improved seabed elevation map, a pair of new unique buildings, and a non-paved airfield on the Pagan island. Both features will provide interactivity that requires changes to the ViewCore subsystems. In order to smoothly transition between the Air Boss station, Briefing Room, and LSO station, we have created a special Camera Route Editor and an advanced view system that allows custom bookmarks to be created on the carrier deck and other locations. This adds camera movement route options to help create spectacular scenes for video creators. It is with great pleasure that we share our advancements on MultiCore. We are making good progress, and we have prepared a short roadmap for your consideration. Upon completion, performance and VR support will be improved. In the upcoming Open Beta 2.7.7 update, the AIM-120 AMRAAM missile will receive an INS unit with datalink support, a revised seeker model, and updated guidance laws. Please read the details below. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team Supercarrier Development Progress Over the past six month we have been working on a human motion model with intelligent behavior for infantry and deck crews. We have started with the deck crew, and we will scale it to infantry units. Both logics will receive two new behaviours: Obstacle Avoidance and Dynamic Reroute according to the situation. Re-routing behaviour is based on a path search algorithm with any-angle path planning. Obstacle Avoidance is based on the Optimal Reciprocal Collision Avoidance (ORCA) method used for holonomic robots with several restrictions on linear and angular speeds, linear acceleration, and discreteness of animation. The first phase of the development is complete and cases must now be considered for when aircraft are passing by, directing aircraft to and from a parking position, avoiding moving aircraft, different states of service and interruptions, etc. MultiCore Development Report Our CPU multi-threading support started in 2019 when we decided to implement several new approaches in EDGE 2.7. This was required to increase performance as rendering demands have changed due to virtual reality, more detailed maps, greater object detail, etc. We devised a solution to render a frame in a multithreaded manner with automatic workload synchronisation. By the end of 2020, we were confident that we are at least half way there with a fully ready Render Graph and the required applied programming. At the end of Q3 2021 we accomplished: Graphic backend EDM models Human models Atmosphere Water and sea Terrain engine Special effects, particles system Night lights for terrains Scenes Cockpits Mirrors Indication GUI Post-effects Cascade shadows What remains to be done includes: Flat shadows Dynamic lights Radars Propellers and similar effects Clouds VR support In parallel to this massive work and upcoming modules, we continue to implement support of the Vulkan API. We have completed most of the work for a first delivery and made changes to our internal applied graphics API that can “shield out” the Vulkan code whilst in early testing. This render code supports both DirectX and the Vulkan API as different DCS World branches. AIM-120 AMRAAM Development Report Air-to-Air Missile Improvements The AIM-120 AMRAAM has received a separate INS (Inertial Navigation System) unit with datalink support. The INS will steer the missile to the predicted target intercept point using targeting data received from the weapon control system at launch. This will dramatically increase missile effectiveness against non-maneuvering targets when the missile has no guidance prior to its seeker taking over the intercept. The aircraft weapon control system will also send INS messages via data link that updates target position and velocity to account for target maneuvers. The missile seeker model has been completely revised. The radar dish now uses a realistic gyro stabilised gimbal that is controlled by the INS before target lock. An active missile seeker, like in the AIM-120, will have its detection and tracking lock range based on physical calculations of noise and target signal ratio (which in turn depends on target RCS or ECM power and range). Target search and tracking is based on doppler velocity filtering (introduced realistic velocity gate), and the radar will search for target near the target reference velocity provided by the INS. The guidance law was also updated. Missile seekers have received Kalman filters that estimate target motion parameters. The new guidance law accounts for target normal to LOS accelerations, possible target G-load growth rate, compensated missile x-axis acceleration, and missile control system latency. AH-64D Development Progress We would like to share progress on the Pilot and Co-Pilot/Gunner helmet that will be integrated with new, detailed pilot models. We plan for this to be available at the Early Access launch. Enjoy. Also now available is the Xian H-6J, an AI Naval bomber created by our third party partners Deka IronWork Simulations. This impressive aircraft comes with new KD-20 and KD-63 cruise missiles. A new feature that enables mission selection in Single Player campaigns is also now available. Progress on DCS: AH-64D is well underway and we are currently working on the M230 Chain Gun. Special attention has been made to the hydraulic actuators that rotate and provide elevation when aiming. The gun’s spring loaded mechanism is also being modelled, enabling it to be locked to a fixed firing position. It has a reinforced structure made of composite materials and enlarged engine inlets for Russian Saturn D-30KP-2 turbofan engines. A glass cockpit with large multi-function displays and a reworked nose section contain a powerful radar. The H-6J is one of the first high polygon model AI bombers in DCS World. Six underwing hardpoints can carry new KD-63 and KD-20 cruise missiles as well as YJ-12 supersonic anti-ship missiles. Another three hardpoints are used for ECM and datalink pods. We have finished the 3D modelling and texturing of this lethal chain gun as well as the 2 hp electric motor that drives linkless ammunition at a rate of 550 rounds per minute into the firing chamber. AWS ammunition will include both M789 High Explosive Dual Purpose (HEDP) and M788 training rounds. Note that these rounds do not have tracers. With DCS: The Channel currently being prepared for final release, we would like to share some of the on-going progress being made to this highly detailed map. The addition of a snow-covered winter season and various new unique assets including; piers, forts, cathedrals, churches and graveyards have been added. We are keen to share our development progress of the IHADSS system for DCS: AH-64D with you. The Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting System allows either the pilot or co-pilot/gunner to slave the 30mm chain gun to their line-of-sight. This allows the gun to track head movements and aim where they look. Please check out the details below. In the next Open Beta update, look out for the new S-200 (SA-5) Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) system that was first fielded in the 1960s. AH-64D Development Progress The Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting System (IHADSS) includes a monocle that provides imagery to the right eye. Based on extensive research, we have done our best to closely match the ergonomics and accurately recreate this view from the pilot and Co-pilot/Gunner positions. In addition to slaving the 30mm chain gun, the IHADSS also provides both pilots important flight, navigation, weapon, fire-control and sensor information. The Modernised Pilot Night Vision System (MPNVS) is a infrared camera on the front of the aircraft that is also slaved to the helmet’s line of sight. This allows the pilot to see in the dark within the confines of the IHADSS and gimbal limits of the MPNVS. DCS: AH-64D | IHADSS Sneak Peek S-200 New unit The design of the Soviet S-200 (NATO SA-5 Gammon) began in the 1950s to counter the growing threat of western high altitude bombers and spy planes. An SA-5 battalion usually consists of six single rail launchers, a ‘Square Pair’ tracking and guidance radar, as well as either the P-14 Tall King, or in more recent times; the STU-68 “Tin Shield'' search radar. The massive 5V28 missile is over 10 meters long, and each weighs 7 tons at launch. Aided by four jettisonable boosters, the 5V28 can engage targets at long ranges. Detonation of the 215 kg warhead can be triggered by proximity fuse or command signal. Given the missile's size and the distances that it can operate over, the SA-5 is most effective in the defence role against large, less maneuverable bombers, tankers, and AWACS aircraft. However, it can still present a significant threat to unwary, small fighter-sized targets. The SA-5 that we have modelled is based on the Syrian Army system that uses the ST-68U search radar, providing a maximum engagement range of 150km. DCS: AH-64D Development Progress We are nearing completion of the DCS: AH-64D external model, and we’d like to share our progress. Visible on the wingtip is one of the Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) sensors that can passively detect surface-to-air and air-to-air missile launches using in-band ultraviolet detectors. It can then manually or automatically engage the Chaff and Flare dispenser as part of the Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) suite. We are also working on the external stores and pylons that can articulate to provide launcher elevation. When landing, the pylons automatically translate to ground stow mode, so that they are parallel with the level terrain. Several skins will be provided for the U.S. Army and several other countries. The F-16C Viper now includes the AGM-154A JSOW and CBU-105 WCMD; both are fearsome ground attack weapons with precision strike capabilities. The Mi-24P Hind has a number of improvements, including a reworked pilot-operator aiming sight, new key binding options, and more. DCS: F/A-18C Hornet has also received numerous improvements and the addition of a new alignment procedure for the JHMCS. We are currently working on improvements to the FM. Further updates include the addition of the NASAMS Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) system, updates to Normandy, Syria, and Marianas and a number of fixes and improvements to the DCS core. DCS: AH-64D History A revolutionary attack helicopter and battlefield game-changer, the AH-64 grew out of the U.S. Army’s 1972 ‘Advanced Attack Helicopter program.’ This identified the need for an attack helicopter that could outperform the AH-1 Cobra in terms of firepower, battlefield effectiveness, survivability, and range. The primary mission would be to counter a massed Soviet tank invasion in Europe if the Cold War turned hot. With the need for better close air support capability evident from combat experience in the Vietnam War, the Army specified that the AAH was to be armed with a 30mm cannon and 16 TOW anti-tank missiles compared with either a 7.62mm minigun, 20mm cannon and just 8 ATGM on the AH-1, and be able to survive 23mm AAA hits. The Army selected the Hughes YAH-64A for its better damage-resistance and stability. The missile armament specification was changed to include 16 AGM-114 laser-guided Hellfire missiles. The first prototype was flown on 30 September 1975. The AH-64A entered U.S. Army service in April 1986. In August 1990, development of the AH-64D was approved and it entered service in March 1997. The AN/APG-78 Longbow radar and sensor suite can detect and track up to 256 targets simultaneously out to a range of 50 km and engage up to 16 using “fire and forget” missiles. The system’s raised position above the rotor hub allows the gunship to do this while remaining in cover behind buildings, trees and masking terrain. If there are more targets than a single AH-64 D can handle, the Longbow’s systems allow it to stream targeting information to friendly air and ground units. The AH-64D has extensive combat experience from 1991 in the Liberation of Kuwait to Iraq, Afghanistan, the Gulf, Syria and Libya. More than 2,400 AH-64s have been built and it remains in frontline service with many nations around the world. DCS: MiG-21bis Campaign by SorelRo You are tasked to defend the region of Krasnodar from an invasion of UN troops and fight for the Independence of Soviet Union provinces. The UN response is moderate however, the Soviet forces in the region are facing supply problems due to the rapid destabilization. Resources are limited, and forces lack support. As a frontline MiG-21bis squadron, move between bases as the conflict evolves. This MiG-21bis Battle of Krasnodar campaign features 25 story-driven missions, over 400 voiceovers, and a 1970’s units set. DCS: Mi-24P Hind Development Progress The majority of the Hind’s development team are currently having a well deserved vacation; however, we will still deliver a number of improvements in the upcoming patch. Most noticeably, a fully remodeled Pilot-Operator ATGM sight picture. The improved sight will use a new auxiliary camera instead of the MFD indicator functionality. All textures for the sight were also redrawn in higher resolution, providing better frame rates and visual quality. VR implementation of the ATGM sight was a high priority too, and it will now occupy the whole view port with some free movement to reduce motion sickness. Dampening has been added to remove small twitches of VR motion sensors affecting the sight picture. We are currently testing more options for switches, which previously were only toggles as well as fixes for those commands that were not mappable to controllers. DCS: Eurofighter Development Progress Our third party partners; Heatblur Simulations and Truegrit Virtual Technologies have joined forces to complete the development of DCS: Eurofighter. The new damage model provides better ballistics tracking and more detailed effects to sloped sheet metal. In the interim, you may have noticed a more realistic representation of wing damage. Check out the In Development Screenshots DCS: Mosquito FB Mk. VI Development Report We are improving the external model using newly acquired blueprints. Improved 3D modelling techniques have allowed us to include finer details. As a result, the smallest rivets, welds and fabric seams are visible. At Early Access stage DCS: Mosquito FB Mk.VI will have different skins available, including those used in the famous Operation Jericho. The remainder of the work will be focused on finalising the bulged bomb-bay fairing and hydraulic bomb doors, the wing pylons and external fuel tanks. This will allow DCS: Mosquito FB Mk.VI to carry two 500 lb bombs internally (with fins cropped to fit) plus another two under the wings. DCS: P-47D Wolfpack Campaign by Reflected Simulations ’Zemke’s Wolfpack’, the 56th Fighter Group, was one of the most famous fighting units of the USAAF during World War II. Flying the P-47 Thunderbolt throughout their time stationed in England, the group had more ace pilots and destroyed more enemy aircraft in air combat than any other group. A large archive of detailed pilot combat reports is available online, and Reflected Simulations has endeavoured to recreate these historical events in DCS World as they happened. DCS: F-16C Viper Development Report Based on our roadmap, we are pleased to announce that the Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser (WCMD), or “Wick-Mid”, will be coming to DCS: F-16C Viper later this summer. The WCMD is cluster munition that will correct for wind effects and errors during a ballistic fall and turns a "dumb" cluster munition into an accurate "smart" weapon. With the addition of this weapon, you will be able to independently assign multiple WCMDs to targets in a single pass (using multiple steerpoints as targets). WCMD versions include the CBU-103 with 202 BLU-97B submunitions and the CBU-105 with 10 BLU-108 Sensor Fuzed Weapon (SFW) submunitions. In this video, we’ll look at the AGM-154A Joint Standoff Off Weapon, or JSOW, for the Viper. The JSOW is an unpowered glide bomb that weighs approximately 1,000lbs. It has a range of up to 70 miles depending on launch altitude and airspeed. It is a fire-and-forget weapon that uses INS and GPS to reach its designated Sensor Point of Interest (SPI) target. JHMCS Alignment Procedure When performing a cold start, the JHMCS will now require alignment. This must be completed to avoid alignment issues with the symbology. If you are performing an auto start, the alignment will be completed for you. NASAMS New Ground Unit NASAMS (National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System) NASAMS is a Norwegian-developed, medium-range SAM system that was introduced in the mid 1990s. Utilising the proven AIM-120 AMRAAM missile, and combined with a MPQ-64 Sentinel 3D radar, it presents a formidable threat to aircraft and helicopters at low- and medium-altitudes. A typical battery consists of 3 launchers, each with 6 missiles, a radar unit, and an FDC fire control unit. NASAMS is in service with a number of countries, including the USA. It is notably used to protect high value targets such as the White House in Washington DC. This ground unit is now available in the latest Open Beta update.
