  1. Do F-15s (F-15Ds) have a landing hook at all? And if, what for? They are not Carrier based, right?
  2. Only consider buying if ED fixes the ZoomView issues wirth FC. I am not willing to pay for bugged games any more. If they can fix it, I will buy an TrackIR and and Black Shark. If not I will have to leave the community. :(
  3. Maybe the Final Solution Found !!! A guy in our squad's forum gave my the tipp! Have you ever tried Cam2Pan? Or are you still using it? If yes, thaan make sure to go to their homepage and check it out for the "newview" programme, use the given installation procedure, reassign the zoom axis in lomac as u like and enjoy! Worked for me! So it is NOT a bug of FC 1.1 !!
  4. Really good question. I'd love to know that too. Cant be much of a problem, as it worked flawlessly in 1.02. Still don't know what ED chancged from 1.02 to 1.1 conerning the zoom view. ...
  5. The DeadZone Programme (if you mean the deadBander Utility..) does not work with x52. every axis is greyed out when i start the programme.
  6. Same here. Unplugged the Joystick, even removed the key command (Numpad Entter) for "center zoom" but still the problem occurs. BTW: KungFu, what Mainboard/Chipset do you have? And have you had another Saitek Joystick in use before?
  7. Check this Thread http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=8166 Please report immediately if you found a working solution, because I am looking for months to find one... :icon_jook
  8. I did a complete fresh reinstall of the whole game. unfortunateley I still cant use the zoom view! Anyone who solved this problem for a saitek x52 stick?
  9. OFP is rather an infantery simulation than an arcade game. Though "drive all vehicles you'll find" with ease gives it some arcade aspect. But I'd also call it rater a sim. If you look at the gameplay it is definetly no (Ego)-Shooter. My 2 cents. I absoultutely enjoed ofp SP and COOP MP in LAN. It has absolute great gameplay. And I am really looking forward to OFP 2, though it might again take a year after release until it is bug free. (Was the so with OFP 1) Until then : :icon_jook
  10. One of our Squad members developed a fine working ATC-AddOn (for our Squad's Radar Controllers) for Lomac. Currently he is trying to find a solution to model "realistic" Radar instead of the "all seeing" one. The following image shows a map with radar shadows of the Krasnodar Airport Radar. This map is static and pregenerated by the use of raytracking in combination with the topographical information of the area. Maybe he will explain his work himself soon. So the interested ones of you might get a chance to ask him specific details about the Radar Model.
  11. Intelligent ATCs would be cool, but maybe is quite komplex to develop algorithms for, BUT implementing line of sight restrictions to Radars (airborne and grounded) should be rather easy. It would also provide better game immersion if 3rd Party ATC programmes (which are already in use by squads using lua-exports) would have dissappearinng radar contacts as they are going "weeds" behind the caucasion mountains and sneaking through the valleys. ED: Line of Sight restriction to Radars would be cool, if ground reflection limitations are modeled too, even better :icon_jook . But think at least about line of sight limitations, will ya? I personally can't imagine "Ray Tracing" is very cpu demanding, but I am not an expert on such algorithms, so teach me better!
  12. Still having the view problem. Although I bought a new x-52 Saitek Joystick! Any useful workaround? Maybe a hint from the developers, what might cause this problem? I am able to change the "snapviews.lua" settings to adjust the range of the zoom area (min, max), but still something's recentering the zoom view between the min and max value automatically. So I am unable to keep up situational awareness, and identify targets visually with one lua setting. ED: Is this a DirectX Problem or what? Do you have any idea? Will this be fixed sometime, or do you think it is not a FC caused problem? Again: The weird recenter view behaviour exists even if I do NOT assign any of the joy axes to the zoom view! Even when I us the Zoom In/Out Key commands, the view recenters !! Whats the casue for this?!
  13. Well, is it modelled that way? That woud be interesting! And does it distract missiles coming from behind better then (semi) frontal launched missiles?
  14. Then check this out! http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/7691023033 or this: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7513 And BTW, I also do have this problem! So there are at least 4 guys with exactly the same BUG behaviour with different Joysticks (even Joystick Brands) Why is ED not having any idea? They should know what they altered from 1.02 to 1.1. concerning the zoom view!
  15. Dont think it is a Saitek specific problem. It is a BUG in FC, and I want it fixed! Because I payed for this piece of Software!! If you ED guys still believe in a Saitek Specific problem, check out this thread. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/7691023033 Please ED help !! :( :( :(
  16. Any one who could guide me to solve the prob specifically for my x45 ? I think the tool does not solve the problem. And if it does I dont know which values to set. @FF: I dont have a "z" (it is greyed out). Therefore I have "slider" "rx" "rz" and "dial" Any ideas?
  17. nope, it is a fresh install, without any mods installed. I made a clean install of the original LOMAC and "patched" it with the "online version" of FC. The first things I did was adjusting the gfx settings and configure the Joystick. I had this problem from the beginning and thought I could get rid of it after my Joystick is configured propery. I guessed wrong! And: I experienced the same symptoms with the FC demo a whlie ago, but I just uninstalled the demo, but I am very dissapointed to have the same situation with this piece of software which I payed for!
  18. I'd appriciate any comment on this bug from the dev team !! Please ! Is it a already recognized bug? Or dont you give a s**** on it, anyway?
  19. *BUMP* @FF How are you playing FC now? As your Zoom View does not work either? If no solution, whats your workaround? I am completely lost. Still no devs to comment this bug.
  20. dammit, due to the monaco F1 Grand Prix I was not here for some time and hoped to find a solution when i come back. Does not look so good, as there is no "official" developer reply to this bug isuue, is there?
  21. Must have Something to do with the changed INPUT PROCESSING, as it (the Zoom View)works flawlessly in Lomac 1.02 and works correct in Windows XP game controller panel..... More here: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=8166
  22. @tekateka: Did not work. Even if I keep the Ptich and Roll Axis empty, the symptoms stay the same. When I swirl the stick around, the set zoom level stays where it should. After recentering stick, the zoom level recenters too (although the Axis 0,1 are not mapped in FC). The strange thing is that the Windows Game Device Views display correct behaviour of all Axis and buttons. Again: It must be a Problem of FC or the drivers. Maybe its the usb-drivers attached to the mainboard, although this is hard to believe due to the correct respond of inputs in Windows itself, as mentioned above.... @Force_Feedback: What Mainboard do you use? p.s.: Tried it again with my old Lomac 1.02 version, and still works flawlessly. It MUST have something to do with the FC Controller INPUT INTERPRETATION (maybe other DirectX commands etc). Maybe its the LUA -Files somehow, but it seems to be a BUG of FC, although obviousley not occuring to everyone.
  23. Mhmm, I dont have a twistable Joystick. I use the x- 45. I might try unofficial drivers, as a last resort.
  24. I have tried it, zomm view still centers automatically. May problem is not the "usual" flickering due to the unprecise potentiometers (or however these parts are called in english) , it rather seems to be a software problem, as the view jumps back to the "center (mediate) zoom level" from regardless of the poti's position. It's either a driver/software issue from Windows XP, Saitek or ED! but it must be Software related, as it worked in lomac 1.02. Although I had the "usual!" flickering there, but that did not bother me much....
