  1. Move the throttle to idle once the blades start turning (Approx. 10-15% N1). At 40% N1, cut the starter and switch the starter gen switch to stand by. Once N1 stabilizes at idle, you can roll the throttle to fly. If you start the engine with the throttle in the fly position you WILL have a hot start.
  2. Have you tried waiting until the starter has gotten up to speed? (Usually around 10-15% N1)
  3. Sounds like you had a hot start. I can't speak for the duration that it should last, but if you let the starter get to 100% (~10% N1) before you go to idle, you shouldn't see any fire at all.
  4. Interesting, had no idea flares worked without hardpoints; thanks for the tip. I just wish there was a separate checkbox for the buckets and FWD/AFT hard-points.

  6. The PhysX in ArmA 3 is CPU, not GPU, based. It doesn't care what graphics brand you use. :thumbup:
  7. Honestly, I think there's too much dust. You don't see dust over grass ever. You only see it over dirt/sand with a loose top layer. What would be cool is seeing bits of grass blowing around the aircraft when it gets picked up by the blade tip vortex. And only on dirt seeing dust.
  8. They fixed the TGT indication issue as well. Not sure if it actually causes damage yet.
  9. BST is making the AH1W (Apparently) so we'll have twin engine performance, hellfires, TOWs, and all sorts of fun stuff. Sucks that its a USMC bird though. :chair: I want to see a UH-60 so bad though, you have so much flexibility with what you can do and what weapons you can slap on the ESSS pylons (Yes, those are mavericks).

  13. Turning force trim off doesn't do anything, unless you actually use trim. I've heard from a pilot that flew Hueys in the army that they never turned it on in the real thing (And you were considered less of a man if you did). All force trim does is keep the stick somewhere when you push a button. You need to be pulling a LOT of collective to keep the G-load on the mast positive, if you don't you know all too well what will happen. , flying straight and level gets boring after mastering it though. You'll start pushing the aircraft to its absolute limits, consequences be damned. It IS just a game after all. :joystick:
  14. Speaking from personal experience, it is HORRIBLE when cabin doors are open and the pilot is flying out of trim. I'm glad I have the face shield for my flight helmet because the seatbelt straps go crazy. Also the wind hitting your helmet is deafening, even through CEPs (little ear plugs/buds that go under the ear cup of the helmet for extra sound dampening).
  15. It may have to do with removing soundproofing from the walls and securing the door better so it doesn't vibrate as much and ruin the door tracks. But that's just an educated guess...
  16. I set my throttle off detent on the WH to being the throttle down keybind. So it is an option, you just need to remember to hit the idle detent switch first... I also have that little red button on the left throttle as my throttle up button, not that I ever use either of them because the only time where they're useful is when I'm already looking around the cockpit and flipping switches manually. :music_whistling:
  17. The axis control is designed to be from Idle to Fly. The Axis is not intended to go below the idle stop.
  18. The idle stop only prevents you from turning the throttle down below idle, it does not prevent you from increasing throttle. The axis range for the throttle is from idle to 100%. Below idle is keybinds and dragging the throttle manually. This is intended functionality by Belsimtek.
  19. While you're on the "off" side of the throttle detent your axis is disabled, for lack of a better term. This is intentional, you need manually move it with the mouse or use a keyboard binding. I just drag it with my mouse when I start up, for shutdown I have the TM:WH left throttle full back and out of detent "button" set to the throttle down key binding.
  20. Turning on the hydraulic system also helps. :music_whistling: As for VRS, you need to be descending well above 1000 FPM to go into it. Keep your descent rate around 500 FPM to make things nice and smooth (And recoverable in a pinch). Be careful though, as you start slowing down and you leave ETL; you will need to pull additional power to keep from falling out of the sky. There's definitely a "dead" zone in the collective range between forward flight and hovering (Even in ground effect). You'll notice your VSI start to drop once you get below ~20 KIAS, if you anticipate this you can keep your glide slope nice and even.

  24. What altitude/air temperature are you flying at? If I remember correctly DCS supports "true airspeed" vs. "indicated airspeed".
  25. Is your hydraulic system taking a crap? If your hydraulics go out the cyclic will drift and it isn't easy to control. As for the torque, I have no idea.
