  1. For very large surface and single projector you really need to use 4K projector... but for the cost of 1 such projector you could get 3 1080p projectors, warping software and such curved setup, which would be much more immersive than single projector on flat projection screen. EDIT: actually looks like 4K projectors came down in price quite a bit from last time I looked, still expensive but not as much as before.
  2. You'd be better with projector(s) that are not 4K (they are too expensive). 2 or 3 HD projectors and curved screen would be best option.. check this out. http://www.simpit.co.nz/index.php/products/icarus-centurion
  3. If you connect buttkickerc to front channel then left/right will mater. But connecting it to subwoofer channel it doesn't.
  4. ^^^ use 3 monitors option in settings
  5. Full of envy here. Awesome looking, original and functional setup.... just top notch
  6. That looks really well done. Great build!
  7. Here is what I did... I bought Windows 10 in a shop, because I read that unlike with free online update from previous OS when installing retail version user has option to disable all the rap most users do not want or need (like me) before OS is installed, and then again once installed, user is able to disable all the crap again (and there is lot of it in Windows 10) in settings... and that's exactly what I did, and I think its money well spent for not having to deal with this OS bloatware. PS. Overall with all the things I don't want/need disabled, Windows 10 seems like good OS.
  8. I used SimShaker.lua from the install directory and F-5E effects now seem to work. I haven't tried to take off yet as I find this engine rumble effect to be buggy, see the LOG from SimShaker sound module (this is me just starting mission with F-5E on ground - hot parking) There shouldn't be any of these Runway/taxiway rolling sound played as I am stationary
  9. That seems to be it, the SimShaker.lua file was last modified 28th June, and clearly did not update. Now, I deleted this file, but when I start SimShaker and DCS it is not being re-created.
  10. More strange thing is that I am not getting any effects in F-5E
  11. No I haven't, its unticked EDIT: Ground bumps and afterburner are definitely not working. The flaps, speedbrake work, I forgot that some aircraft do not have all effects, MIG-21 is one of them. And no worries, I can wait for a fix.
  12. This update seems to have broken lots of effect on my end. I first wanted to try F-5E in OpenBeta and found nothing works. There is nothing in log screen. The I tried F-15C and that one did have some effect but some were not working (afterburner, landing gears, flaps and maybe few more I can't remember now). Then I tried MiG-21, again ground rolling bumps were not working, flaps not working, gear not working. L-39 also the same.
  13. Milan is not outsourced business, why it works so well ;) All of this is are consequences of globalisation and cost saving by outsourcing.
  14. I disable Pagefile. I prefer lots of system RAM for the OS and any app to use that instead of HDD, even if its SSD. Unless there is memory leak in OS or app you're using you'll never run of RAM (if you have enough) in any normal use.
  15. Unified exe is what merged the GUI and in game render, and ED are not going to go back to split executable again.
  16. This won't happen as it would mean ED having to separate the executable for GUI and sim and go back the way it was before.
  17. Sometimes I wonder if I should get this JetSeat also in addition to ButtKicker I already have.
  18. Look, don't feel bad about not being able to easily check six, real pilots have same issue, and they also have heavy G loads to cope as well. Just think of it as simply more realistic way to fly, and need bit of adjustment in the way you fly... before you merge think how to position yourself to be able to see the other guy easier... how to track him easier. If things go good with VR and I presume it will as headsets get higher resolution and more people adopt it, TrackIR users will eventually die out.
  19. pffft... so get a full tower case, small price to pay compared to price of the VR headset, the video card, and the rest of the main PC components ;) Real "Problem" is VR is not 4K yet, nor do we have PC's that can run it at 4K in VR at good FPS :)
  20. Every aircraft looks good in VR :)
  21. Yes, I think ED chose to close it and not fix as they already work on new grass effect, which you can see in Wags update in the link I provided in that thread.
  22. Its been fixed in latest Open Beta version 1.5.4.55169.134
  23. I'll just put an FYI here, this bug was reported (bug #31289) and already closed, without fix, I assume its because ED are already working on new grass effect (you can see it in new Caucasus update here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170914 and image http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=144882&d=1469293935
  24. It looks awesome even without coating. Wish I had a seat like that.
  25. Don't be scared (just kidding) to try different setting. For example, when I used 4K large TV I had to have shadows on High otherwise shadows look too jaggy for me. In VR I have them now on Low and they still look good. I use 16x AF and 4x FSAA and 1.0 pixel density (settled for this for now as it gives fairly decent visual, can't see the jaggies due to some FSAA, and still get good fps). You need to use medium (don't want to go to High as I think it might be too much) model enlargement setting. It helps with spotting ground units a bit. Definitely not there with resolution yet (but that was expected) and then again if we did get 4K per eye headset you would not be able to run it at good fps, so its a good compromise... after all it's only 1st gen on VR headset... it will get better with newer headsets, hopefully VR catches on and manufacturers will continue to improve on them.
