  1. Okay, and then is there a thread that speaks on how you play online with the two components mixed? If I feel like flying BS I load that up and can see A10 missions that have BS units and vice versa?
  2. I have DCS A10C on Steam. I want to get Black Shark 2 so everything is compatible. Should I buy the Steam version of BS and then buy the upgrade patch directly from ED? How should I go about this?
  3. 600m is generally considered danger close for air assets or artillery. Actual blast concussion or frag ranges I am not sure.
  4. I can trim no matter the location or load on the stick. Not sure on your second question.
  5. Hold down the STAT button, then on the right hand side click load, and then click STAT again to allow you to get to the load page by clicking the load page you just replaced STAT with. Then load all again. Viola.
  6. Lat Long is North and Easting. Hence the N and E. They are given as two separate lines with an N and an E for each. The N is given first followed by the E. UTM are the same in that they give northing and easting but they lump them into one number with two letters in front. The two letters in front are the map sheet number. MN08763456 would be a UTM example (a random one). The first four letters are the northing and the second four are the easting. UTM is generally used on the ground and L/L are used by aircraft.
  7. Semi-on topic to the latest Tweet... Is Blackshark compatible with FC2? If so, is it possible that A10C will integrate with FC2 & BS or just BS?
  8. He calls for a picture but AWACs says picture is clean at 50 seconds in. Then later, it looks like Uzi calls in the AAA at 2:30 into the video (unless that is a bug where Wizard the AWACs announces himself as Uzi). That wouldn't be AWACs coming back with his requested picture, it is just another allied flight finding that target and making the call. He does request home plate to AWACs which gives him magnetic heading and distance as normal. I hope I am not confused or confusing you. Ultimately, you cannot call AWACs to give you an offset (dir/dist) for ground targets. Those will just be fed to you in real time on the fly by allied flights. That is the summary of how it works. I'll humbly stand corrected if it is different and would welcome to learn otherwise. Nothing worse than dishing out bad info!
  9. Yeah AWACs will generally give bullseye calls to enemy aircraft. That should give you a general idea of what the enemy aircraft are doing. Range and what they are doing in relation to you. It's not practical to do an offset for that. Those are more instinctual calls. The offset is useful when other aircraft see stuff on the ground and that may be what the AWACs was doing, actually flying close enough to see them because as far as I know AWACs has no systems for identifying ground targets other than their eyeballs. The only thing that you can request on the fly from AWACs is picture of enemy aircraft. For using the offset for ground target locations you just need to listen for the calls and jot them down for creating that offset waypoint. If you miss one, you can't radio back to have them resend. I'm pretty new to this too, so if I am wrong, someone please jump in and correct.
  10. I haven't made missions in the editor, so under the hood I am not sure sure how it is setup. I would imagine if it just did an orbit over a target rich environment and you are on his frequency you should hear calls. Recon sounds about right.
  11. Nine lines come from JTAC, you won't be getting direction distance from Bullseye from JTAC, grid is more precise. AWACs only calls out other enemy aircraft. If you have predator up and not setup as JTAC and he is overflying targets he may call out their position with the direction distance for you to use the offset.
  12. You are right, I crossed wires on what bomb he was having trouble with.
  13. You can set the SPI to that point where the TGP is looking without doing area or point tracking. It is a separate function, setting the SPI, than what operational mode the TGP is in.
  14. He said the cue never drops, that makes me think the SPI was not designated correctly. I can't think of why else.
  15. Well, you need to make sure you have the TGP on the target, then do TMS up long. The tadpole from your TVV should point straight down towards the target as you approach indicating that it is in front and below you. If it is pointing to the left or right it might still be set to your steerpoint or last target. Look for the wedding cake symbol to be over your target on the TAD to be sure.
  16. Are you sure you properly designated a SPI through the TGP?
  17. Popping popcorn for the show. Some people just aren't of the right mindset to enjoy a detailed simulation. Others can't enjoy a five minute arcade romp.
  18. At the risk of sounding trite, can you fix the title of these "with list" threads you created to "wish lists". Every time I see them, I get confused.
  19. Just because it takes longer, doesn't mean it is going to have more and more fixes and content added. They may be on vacation just like Wags! In that case, longer ain't better for us, but for them.
  20. That looks to be just dealing with trees from Blackshark. If you still aren't happy, go to the thread I linked and on post #20 will tell you what to change.
  21. Right Control + Home and Right Alt + Home should move the throttles to idle if I remember correctly. If you haven't remapped them, they should work. Are the engines failing to fire up fully, or you can't get the throttles to bump up into idle? There is also a quick startup key sequence, can't remember what it is.
  22. It's like that after the last patch. There are a few config settings you can adjust to recoup some of the visuals like expanding tree popup and where the buildings fade in from. I don't know them off the top of my head but others will be able to help you out. In fact, there should be a thread floating around that details how. If you have the horsepower, it is a must because it helps so much and makes it so much more gorgeous. They ought to have those settings on a slider bar for those with beefcake PCs. Edited to Add: Check out this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71383
  23. I usually fly without them, unless close to the earth, then they go on. I will use them when running in with guns, turning down the HUD. I don't use them to look around the cockpit. Also to look for the sparkle from JTAC.
  24. Not yet, after next patch I believe.
