Just finished the campaign, in was enjoyable and challenged to fly, had to do some of the mission more than once :-) I clocked around 23h in the MI-8 for this.
But now to the serious part what was good and bad and missing.
Good thinks first:
The buildup of the story is super greater, starting of with the mission up on the mountain, and after wards the mission where you transport the VIP around the oilrigs. This gave the campaign a soft start but also with some challenges.
The flying in the artic zone was one of the best parts of this, great work with creating a are of the world in DCS that looks like the artic.
The intermedia combat mission was very cool and a nice brake from the white world ????
Bad things:
I’m was missing a bit more history/background documentation. Some of this is in the briefing, but I would have been cool if you could have added this like a voice over in the mission that would have added a bit more to the felling, than just the standard start up conversation.
There is a point in the campaign where you go from the artic mission, and next you are flying some training mission with the army, here it would have been cool if there was more background talk, like an interview, it was mentioned in the briefing but some more conversation in the game would have been greater, to give the felling that it is something the pilot is telling to a interviewer.
Missing:
I would have nice to have some PDF with all the mission briefings to print or have on a tablet. With some background history, map, radio and more, just a hint for the next part.
So to wrap It all up, greater work, finally a long awaited campaign for the MI-8, and the best thing is that you are doing one more, looking forward to this.
