  1. 100% - the more of the API exposed the better. All of the best loved long running games have open APIs and modding support
  2. It might be in the image there but it doesn't work for me in-game with my WMR controllers. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it's broken for everyone or only broken for some. There's an issue, it has been reported and the Devs are working on a fix. Hopefully, it'll allow each person to pick and choose which parts of the VR control system they want to use but until we know, it's not helpful filling up the bug reporting thread with debate and conjecture.
  3. Hmm that's a shame, I wonder why it's better for me but not you? It was really bad before, freezing my display for a few seconds, but is smooth as butter now.
  4. Yep, same here, impossible to start up a plane with a controller now. Having to use mouse to click switches. I'm really hoping a fix comes soon.
  5. Hi All, Just grabbed the latest DCS World but I'm having some problems with my X52. When I do a ramp start, DCS doesn't recognise my throttle or roll axis inputs. Nothing appears on the mini-map (CTRL-ENTR) either. The controls respond fine if I start in Game mode or if I start in the air when in Sim mode but not ramp start in sim mode. I've changed the settings for both Sim & Game modes, deleted my DCS Save folder (several times) and have reinstalled the latest Saitek drivers but I still can't get the throttles & roll to work. I uninstalled the previous version of DCS World before installing this one too. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? Many thanks, Andrew
  6. It wasn't :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77902
  7. No worries, I appreciate the reply! Woah! £150! You buying everything in one go? I think I'm going to take on the AHCP next...
  8. woohoo! Success! The 6th piece of software I tried worked - HIDMacros! I assigned "button down" and "button up" keystrokes for each of the switches and it works like a charm! Thanks all for your help & suggestions - I'm sure I'll be posting again when I start on the next few panels! :)
  9. Update! So, 7 hours, a butchered USB gamepad, 6 switches and a project box later and I have the panel completed! My only issue is that I got SPST for all but the Inverter switch for which I used a SPDT switch. Things turn on fine but will only turn off when the switch is moved to the "on" position again - not when it's moved to the "off" position! Presumably I need some kind of "dual on" switch? I'm trying to solve the issue using software rather than wasting the (way more than I expected!) money. I'm giving Pinnacle Game Profiler a go to try and send another button push on deactivation but I'm not having much luck with it. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them! Either way, it's awesome being able to use physical switches instead of the mouse to begin starting up the hog! Thanks all for your continuing help  Edit: Bah. Can't get Pinnacle or Xpadder to work. I think I'm just going to write a quick program that picks up the state change of the switch, converts it to a keypress and passes that to DCS. I can't afford to spend more monies on the software anyway
  10. Thanks for the offer - the programming side I've got covered (dev/sysadmin by trade), just not the electronics bit. Certainly more than just plugging in an xbox but my soldering skills are dusty at best. Once I get a bit more comfortable, I'd love to give building my own interface a go! Thanks for the help.
  11. Thanks - I'll check these out if the gamepad attempt miserably fails
  12. Awesome, thanks for the quick response. Ahh OK - it was a toss up between that and a BU0836 but if I can use the gamepad with a small amount of fiddling, I'll try that route. I'll check out the sticky. Thanks again!
  13. Hi, I'd like to make a few panels starting with the electrical power panel. Would something like this be suitable for a few toggle switches? The specs say "2 analogue inputs" but I'm assuming that you can have more than one switch per input? http://www.maplin.co.uk/usb-experiment-interface-board-42857 I have minimal experience with things like this! Many thanks, Delenda

  15. Any chance that you can post your settings for facetracknoIR? I'm having problems getting it sorted too. Many thanks, delenda
  16. I'm on Windows 7 too - what problem are you getting? Maybe I can help?
  17. Hi, I'm having a few issues with PPJOY: 1) I've setup a virtual joystick and have set the mappings as in the first attachment. However, when I come to calibrate the virtual joystick, the X moves when it should be Y and vice versa. Also, the mappings are different when I calibrate. For some odd reason, "slider" is one of the axis. 2) I can't seem to bind the virtual joystick in the sim. Once they're set to the "asolute camera" views, I can't "OK" out of the controls screen. I've been playing with settings for hours and I just can't seem to get it working. I can't afford a Track IR for a while and I'd love to improve my SA! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, delenda
  18. Hi, Don't mean to thread-jack but I posted a thread last year as I was having similar difficulties. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61826 I'm using a GTX460 too... If I can provide any more information that can help to narrow this down, let me know! Many thanks, Andrew
  19. Well, I'll make this one do acronyms :) I was thinking of making it more of a complete A10 trainer than just a checklist program. Was considering things like a NATO brevity codes trainer where the text to speech simulates a radio call using the codes and you've got to decipher the meaning. Maybe integrate a plane spotters quiz and a "what's this dial?" part? If anyone has any more ideas, I'll be happy to integrate them too. Heh, I think A10droid has a nice ring to it :)

    Enjoy...

If you like this kind of music, I highly recommend Globus. Wikipedia: "Immediate Music has its own band, called Globus, that fuses cinematic orchestral music with contemporary and world music rhythms." is an example of their music. Orchard of Mines is a personal favourite (based on Immediate's Serenata) I only found out about Globus a couple of weeks after their Wembley performance  I would pay a lot of money to see them live...
  21. Hi everyone, I'm Andrew, I'm from the UK. I'm a techie by day & techie/gamer by night and I'm loving DCS A-10 so far! I'm rocking around with my trusty Cyborg Evo Force until I can save up enough for a real HOTAS. I recently did my first IRL solo in a 152 but thankfully hadn't yet discovered DCS A-10 otherwise, I imagine I would have been getting strange looks from my instructor as I make GAU8 noises doing circuits :) Hope to see you in the sky soon, Andrew
  22. I was thinking of writing a bespoke Android app for the A-10 that would do something similar. I think having the built in text-to-speech read out the items would be awesome. All you would need to do to move to the next item is to touch the screen somewhere. If people are interested in this sort of thing, I'll start working on it sooner.
