  1. Steam does not do binary updating where it only downloads the changes. If there is a change to the file then the whole file needs to be reacquired. As much an issue with ED's choice of file structure as it is an issue with Steam's patching system.
  2. Not buggy, read back through the thread. The aircraft starts with HARS selected on the Navigation Mode Selection Panel. Once EGI is aligned, select EGI from the panel (behind the stick).
  3. Check that EGI is selected on the Navigation Mode Selection Panel. You likely have HARS selected. Once EGI is selected, you will be able to activate EAC as long as EGI is fully aligned (flashing NAV READY on the CDU).
  4. Not available in the UK. Pretty stupid to lock out a major market from purchasing on steam. I already have a copy from ED, but not allowing UK purchases from Steam in the UK seems kind of silly.
  5. To be honest, this book is full of prize quotes. If you haven't read it yet, the F-15E book by the same author is also brilliant.
  6. It is a colouring book given to new A-10 pilots back in the day. I am not sure what you really expected from it :noexpression:
  7. I think he is stating the complete opposite.
  8. The new sound is simply awesome. I cannot wait for beta 5 just because of that :D
  9. One thing that I always wondered about with regards to EAC - the startup sequence and the tutorial on the subject says that you move your IFFCC switch to test to run the startup BIT while the EGI is still aligning - but when you run the startup BIT for the IFFCC, it says "LASTE: Set EAC switch in ARM", implying that EAC should be enabled at that point. Why is this the case? If the EGI needs to be fully aligned to switch on EAC, why do the aircraft's own systems suggest differently? Just seems kind of odd to me.
  10. Hey ED, While reading the manual I have noticed that there are some fantastic photos in it, especially of various liveries used on the A10C and even better - some fantastic images of the A10C cockpit, powered up with HUD and MFDs working. Any plans to release some full res copies of these images? Would be fantastic if you did :) Example of one I would love in full res: http://www.matthewchapman.co.uk/images/cockpit.png
  11. Perhaps you are right. Personally I do prefer not having to store DVDs etc - and I quite like the auto patching, but I have to admit I have been lucky in that I have not had any of the issues that some people tend to report. Plus, you can't beat Steam's sales :P For games such as ArmA2 etc, I purchased them on DVD. There are some games that I prefer having a disk for - for everything else there is Steam :)
  12. When was the last time you used Steam? If you last used it at release then yes I understand it was rubbish - but now? Now there is little need not to use it.
  13. Cool video :) "Goddamnit, piece of sh*t" - I laughed out loud at that little comment :P
