  1. Okay, sounds like I should keep using the cable then. By "set 500mbs" I assume you mean the Encode Reslution Width in the Oculus Debug Tool, right?
  2. Hi guys, I have been reading this thread for a while now and have learned a lot about Quest 3 settings and DCS. I recently switched from a G2 to a Q3 and am still in the "fiddling with settings" phase. For now I am using a link cable connection to my PC. Is this the best possible solution? Some people have suggested using Virtual Desktop or even Airlink. Should I use one of the wireless options instead of link cable? I have a 5ghz router about 2m from where I am sitting.
  3. They work for me. Just tested it in VR with the new MT .exe file.
  4. I have tried it myself now and can confirm, it does not work. Deactivating MSAA in DCS and forcing it active in the Nvidia Control Panel leaves me with a worse image full of jagged edges. The shimmering is not as bad as it used to be without AA, but it's pretty clear to me that AA via Nvidia Control Panel does nothing in DCS VR. I did however set Object Terrain Shadows from "Flat" to "Off". It pains me to do it, because the graphics feel fake without object shadows. But it got me a lot of the perfomance back that 2.8 took away. Maybe "Default" and "Flat" are now the same setting?
  5. At this point I am willing to try a lot of things. So, thanks for the suggestion @dburne, I will give it a try. The overall AA quality seems to have declined with 2.8, at least for me. I haven't played a lot since 2.8 dropped (mostly because of the performance loss), but over the last 2 days I had a little time on my hands. There seem to be more jagged edges than with 2.7. Both on cockpit elements like the UFC in the Hornet, but also on the tank nozzle of the M2000c or the models in external view.
  6. I know you are already aware of the issue, I just wanted to let you know I have had the same issue.
  7. DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign by Sandman Simulations All missions. Custom VF-24 Low-Viz liveries added with unique side numbers. You did it! Thank you very much!
  8. Hey, thanks for getting back to me on that. This is exactly what I mean. The unique numbers add a lot to the overall immersion.
  9. Are there any plans to change this in the near future? I can live with the robot voice, but having cloned planes fly alongside me during a mission is a bit of an immerson killer. To end on a positive note: I have played the first two missions of this campaign and so far I really like it. The Cap flight in mission 2 was the right amount of action vs. routine. I am looking forward to the rest of the campaign.
  10. Yeah, this might not be feasible. I have just switched from a setup with TrackIR and two monitors to using an HP Reverb G2. And I miss being able to see Discord or the Blueflag map on my second monitor
  11. I am sorry if this has been asked before, but I am new to VR and OpenXR and this thread has 100 pages now. Is it possible to view Desktop apps (like Chrome or Discord) while flying in DCS using OpenXR? I have read that there are apps like OVR Toolkit that can do it when using SteamVR. But is there such a solution when not using SteamVR?
  12. I have news: I could finish the mission. Not sure what did the trick, but I disabled two mods (some insurgent mod with different models I think and the dynamic campaign mod). Maybe one of these mods caused problems, I don't know. Mission 9 ran without problems
  13. Thanks for your feedback. I will try that. If it’s a dcs problem it will hopefully get fixed within the next update(s). I would really like to finish the campaign without having to skip a mission
  14. First of all I want to say that I really enjoy this campaign. It has a lot of 80s charm and makes me feel like I’m part of a story. A job well done! For the past few days I have been trying to finish mission 8. I reach the patrol area and start alternating between WP 1 and 2. Two Mig 23s show up on radar and I order my squadmates to attack (engage mission and rejoin). They do as they are told and we splash the bandits. Afterwards we are ordered back to the racetrack and that’s where my game crashes with a “dcs has stopped working“ error. I can send an error report and then it’s back to desktop. This has happened 3 times now and always at the same point in the mission, which makes me think that it must have something to do with the campaign. Because flying the Tomcat on MP servers or others single player missions does not crash the game. Any thoughts?
  15. Alright, then I will just create another profile. Hopefully I can switch them „on the fly“ without having to restart DCS.
