  1. You can force the gear down by twisting the handle - though the scenario you’re in is usually caused by loss of hydraulic functions and you should head toward the closest divert field for a straight in approach

  3. I’ve ran out to O2 bottles exactly once after a long day of flying the same jet. Went up for my 4th or 5th sortie without reslotting and started passing out at altitude and had to immediately dive and land. Was shocking but I appreciate the detail
  4. Would it be possible to add F-14 RIO as well so we can split front-seat/back-seat time?

The LSO thing was an issue where I flew two sorties in one session but only got one grade, but I did the first one zip lip, and I think you need to call into the boat to get an LSO score from DCS. Most IRL squadrons have currency systems for skills, night flying, BFM, A2G, BVR, tanking, etc.. So one squadron might have a requirement that you have to fly one night mission a week to stay current and be able to fly combat missions that require those skills. You could have a page on the edit mission screen that lets us check the proper currency items and reset that items daily value back to 0. It would be cool if we could customize a list of currency items we as a squadron want to keep track of with maybe a section on the statistics page for the squadron showing something like: AAR (10) BFM (10) Night (7) A2G (60) Pilot 1 10 5 6 45 Pilot 2 5 11 3 10 Pilot 3 40 1 4 4 This would give squadrons data about what training needs to be done with any spare fuel they can squeeze into a flight. Another idea would be to have an organization level above squadron so we could link multiple squadrons together.
  6. Awesome tool! My squadron is looking into using it, but we have a few questions. Are LSO grades reliant on us calling into the ship? Would it be possible to implement a currency system for squadrons? Could maybe make a customizable grid for squadrons to implement their own skills to be current and then a tracker if enabled for those skills on the squadron page so that we could track which skills need the most training?

  9. Hey @Reflected, I love your campaigns and saw you are working on a RAG campaign for the Tomcat - which I can't wait for! I know these campaigns are a lot of work for you, but I was wondering if there were any plans for a JO tour campaign after the RAG one gets released. I thought it would be pretty cool to be able to play the RAG Campaign, followed by our first JO Tour in peacetime where you do some missile tests, maybe some CAP patrols where you spar with your flight lead, etc., then you get selected for Top Gun and get to play Zone 5 capped off by the Fear the Bones campaign. Seems like a pretty cool timeline of missions to be able to play through and maybe you already have it planned but figured I'd throw it out there just in case Thanks again for the great Tomcat content!
  10. +1 to what Gizzy said, we’ve mostly moved all out Tomcats to land bases because of this issue. It’s very frustrating for those of us who enjoy carrier ops
  11. Yup can’t spawn two F-14s to ramp start on any carriers empty deck because the game keeps spawning F-14 #2 right next to #1 and doing damage to the wing. Have to ramp start one at a time and keep moving them out of the spawn area which takes forever to get everyone started and ready for a mission,
  12. This is a $40 module that’s been out for a year and a half. F16s flight model was still operable for F16 squadrons. SC is barely usable for F14 players going up with more than a section. I’m fine waiting for missing features like ready room, night wands for the deck crew, and the Air Boss room, but considering there’s only two full fidelity carrier based planes in the game it doesn’t seem like a stretch to be able to spawn more than 2 maybe 3 F14s on an empty deck without having to start missions paused.
  13. Can we please for the love of god fix the F14 spawns? I’m so sick of having to respawn five hundred times on MP servers or missions to not have a broken wing. We’ve started just having all our Tomcats stationed on air bases because of it. Can fit a million hornets on an empty deck but struggle with two F14s. Not even mentioning the fact that deck crews stop responding if a F14 is hooked up so you can only have 1-2 hooked up at a time if you don’t spawn on the cats… Or the IFLOS…
  14. I have most modern jets but I pretty much only fly the F-14B. As much as I would enjoy a better HUD or HMD, I just don't really enjoy flying most other planes nearly as much.
