  1. Promised several years ago and still not released. I personally have take the Mosquito off my computer until that is completed. Let's at least have an undated post on : 1. is it actually going to happen, if so what percentage is completed. 2. projected release date. neither of the 2 questions should be that hard to answer after two years.
  2. Single player needs to have AI more realistic in performance. How about just a scalability function where things like plane performance can be dumbed down. I know this has been discussed to death, but it is a major weakness for those of us who fly in single player for many reasons. Perhaps just a set of performance parameters that can be input, say increase decrease by a percentage. Also setup an input for various failure rates on the AI craft for various mechanical issues. I believe that the war birds are probably second string, but it would be nice to make them less superman and more Clark Kent.
  3. I would think having the high test fuel would be more important.
  4. I wonder if Combat Arms is getting a Pacific update or will there be a "Combat Arms Pacific" released?
  5. After spending 8 hours with the F18C, I realized that while I might NOT hate jets, they are just not for me. The Fun I get from the WWII birds,is for me the best experience I get in a simulation game. I wish I could get a credit for the F14, F18, and even the Mosquito. But I will just write them off and "Not For Me". No jets (and thus I even got rid of the Super Carrier:)) are now on my computer. Looking forward to the Pacific but the P51/47 and Spitfire will keep me busy until them, might have use combat arms for more than just targets. Keep flying guys and gals.....
  6. Another way to do it, make simple missions in the mission editor and learn each thing (use Youtube videos for modeling your mission). Works for me both in Warbirds and now jets (where before I just gave up on jets.)
  7. I have to fess up. After I wrote this I deleted the Mosquito, F14/15 and flaming cliffs A10. I've spent the last couple of days and can now take off/land and use Tcan and way points on the F18. Having spent the bucks on Super Carrier and the F18 I thought I would give it one more try. And so far I would say the I will end up with the F18/P51/P47/Spitfire. If the Mosquito get's AI Radio/Pilot I will reload it. Finally, I will get one of the two Pacific planes under development. Then I am done. In reality I will mostly fly F18/P51 and one of the Pacific planes, can't really do them all. Since I am retired I'll give the F18 6 months to be really up and flying, for some reason I just found it hard before, things are going good now. The P51 has always been my favorite Warbird. F18 seems to be the widest range of missions (especially with the Super Carrier), and because my deceased dad fought in the Pacific, well one of the new pacific planes calls to me. *************As of 2/20 my computer is now free of all jets, just not for me************************
  8. The F18 is easy to fly, it's just the darn systems (radar/missiles) that have way too many settings for my old brain.....
  9. Haven't played in a while (almost a year). Decided that the Tomcat/F18 are worthless to me, as is the everything else I got except the Spitfire,P51, and the P47. Just have never learned to love the jets. But the Spitfire, P51 (my favorite) and the P47 all just have the right feel. Well, there is just something about the P51 that fits me, what a great couple of hours - so easy to remember take off /landing. And now that the engine is a bit more steady, I might as well take the jets off my computer. Will keep the carrier for when the Corsair makes an appearance. Only prop I never warmed up to is the Mosquito bomber (need a single person setting for it to work for me). But to the P51, with the engine being so much better, I find it a very relaxing plane, and at altitude a killer..... even down low if you handicap the AI a bit it is fun to fight with.
  10. WWII stuff, AI does things we can't do when flying - all the time....
  11. At current counter in I am at 7 planes (super carrier and all the WWII stuff) and will be at 8 when the corsair arrives. I would like to see AI planes fly like us humans and not break the rules of reality. In other words make the levels of the AI pilots follow the rules of aerodynamics as well as people skills in flying. IMHO this is the single biggest issue with DCS. Why is this important, because those of us who fly only on our computer need to have our planes and those of the "enemy" obey the same flying operations as found in reality. AI should be truly adjustable IMHO.
  12. Rudel thanks, you advice worked like a charm. Will try it, as I won't live long enough for a full new download:)
  13. I can see them in the Program file location on C:\ windows drive, but they don't show up in DCS. I tried the beta multi-cpu but went back to the standard DCS. Thought I'd done a clean reinstall. Don't know why (It's the F18 training mst files) - are on the SSD but just not being recognized). Do I need to wipe everything (best way?) and reload everything? Is there a way to have the program check for the mst flies? Really don't want to uninstall and reinstall of the module/maps I have.
  14. Funny thing is that I started with the Spit and for the last year I had tried jets. Jets are just not my cup of tea. Back to the Spit, 47, and P51. Infact am pretty excited, I got the map update yesterday and am going to build my own battle of Britian. Have not quite loved the P51 with the engine issue, but the 47 and the Spit are just great. One for ground game and the other for air. To bad no way to sell the Tomcat or the F18. Super Carrier - hope we have a good update when the Corsair fly's.
  15. I spent about two years flying the Spitfire, Mustang, and P47. Favorite was the P47. But I really wanted the jet experience. So I got the F18 and super carrier. I've taken all the others off my computer (when I've learned the F18 I'll put them back on). Here's my plan: 1. learn to fly the plane 2. learn carrier take off and landings 3. learn the arms and get into action. I'm planning on doing 6 months of 1 & 2 before I worry about #3. Is this a good plan. So far I have done the training supplied but need to try each session skills outside the handholding of the training. The flying is much easier than the war birds but the equipment is much more sophisticated and I can see will take a serious amount of time to learn given that I can only spend about an hour a day doing it. What would be your two best tips about the plane? Thanks.
