Follow along as I explore the new features, improvements and features in 1.5. I go line by line and stop to smell the roses in a few places. :) Part 1 covers the graphics engine, interface, Combined Arms, AI, and other misc updates. Part 2 will cover changes to individual aircraft.

Here is a quick instant action mission while we wait for the 1.5 release. :) This was recorded while gathering material for a graphics comparison between the old and new engine and includes attacks on two positions.

Of course, I would dismiss any request like this from a native English speaker out of hand considering the work that already goes into presenting the subjects clearly. I am afraid you vastly overestimate the number of non-native English speakers who are watching these or anything else I put up. Youtube tells me it is closer to 1 in 6 and most of those are from Germany and Sweden where many speak better English than me. :)

Here is a playthrough of the single mission called 'Surrounded!'. It turned out to be more of an Instant Action type mission with wave after wave of columns to take out so I fly it a little less cautiously than usual. :)

Ok, results are posted in the top thread. Well done again to all who participated. :)

Ok, all entries are scored. I am going to verify everything one more time in the morning when I am fresh and have it all put together, hopefully by tomorrow evening. In the meantime, here are some graphics to look at. This one shows impact points in relation to the target with an arrow depicting wind direction at low altitude. It is pretty clear that the folks who entered the LASTE wind profile fared better but it is hard to pin down by exactly how much. The folks who took take the time to calculate and enter it are, I would imagine, more experienced and more practiced than those who didn't so that surely skewed the results a little. Either way, there was a definite advantage. This one shows the impact point in relation to the aircraft heading at release. I have almost convinced myself that this reflects a bias to the left due to two of the three releases coming off the left wing. The problem is that I was positive before that the sim compensated for that. It might just be a coincidence based on all the different headings folks flew in relation to the wind at release. The spreadsheet with the raw data will be available tomorrow if anybody with more brain power wants to have a look. (That is assuming anybody else in the world actually cares. :)) This is the same as above except for the Su-25T. It is really quite unremarkable when compared to the A-10 results. :) Everybody did a really great job.

Alright, all the submissions are in and I am working on scoring the last of them. I will have the results posted no later than Monday.
