  1. That post about moving to DirectX 11 is very exciting (for AMD users)!
  2. Don't think my system will be able to handle that one. :(
  3. Based on what? (I hope you're right! :) ) As an AMD use I've given up on DCS World until it supports DirectX 11. Trying to land a Huey when FPS falls to single digits around airports is not my idea of fun.
  4. Excellent update. Can't wait to fly NoE in a Huey over this new terrain!
  5. Would love to see a Corsair in DCS. Quite possible my favorite craft from IL-2!
  6. Site looks great! Never really thought about it before, but the old one looked like it hasn't changed since the late '90's. ;)
  7. I just got the MiG-21 too. Able to start up and get her off the ground, but that's it. Can't wait to start throwing missiles around! Supesoft, good call on getting the Huey. It's one of the most fun modules to fly and comes with an excellent campaign. The Sabre does not include any campaign.
  8. Shhh....! If they did that, so many of our wallets would simply implode! It's hard enough resisting with all those Buy buttons on the web page.
  9. Must be super exciting to discover DCS World now with so many choices! Back in 2009 we only had the <most excellent> Black Shark, and were waiting like starving dogs for any news on the A-10C. To me, flight simming doesn't get boring with time, but instead only more exciting and intriguing. :)
  10. That was a great listen, thanks!
  11. I bought the Huey and Mi-8 from Belsimtek while they were in Beta. Did not encounter any problems, and each came with an excellent campaign that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would certainly recommend either of those if you enjoy flying helicopters. Note that it's a totally different experience than the Black Shark... no autopilot to help!
  12. This must be the most exciting module yet on it's way for DCS. Really can't wait! Good job guys, I'll be ready for pre-order when you are. :D
  13. Nice, I never even noticed this.
  14. My philosophy is don't buy the next module until I'm reasonable proficient in the current one. This does wonders to reduce spending frequency!
  15. Looks like today is the day.
  16. The blue screen is damn hard to diagnose, but usually comes down to a hardware problem. Is this a relatively new system? Check for: - cpu overheating - cpu clocked too high - incompatible memory sims - incorrect memory timing - incorrect BIO setting - unstable motherboard chipset (not so common anymore) It cannot be caused to a windows application.
  17. It's great that new pilots are still discovering the joys of DCS after so many years. This is what will keep our hobby alive! I remember buying DCS: Ka-50 when it came out. I had no real interest but I was just tired of waiting for CloD and RoF. Boy, did that turn into a long love affair! It's still one of my favorite aircraft. I'm afraid once EDGE is available there'll be no going back to other sims.
  18. I can definitely imaging doing this 6-7 hours per day. Long time before I retire, though!
  19. It makes sense. If release 2.0 is imminent then it makes no sense wasting cycles on fixing bugs in a soon-to-be deprecated version of DCS World. Full speed ahead, I say!

    Das Boot

Watched Das Boot many times and will watch it many more. The part scene at the beginning says so much (I'm being serious).

    Broke my ankle

I can sympathize, Weeb, last Spring I was off my feet for 12 weeks with a broken ankle. Hope you get well soon. Meanwhile, trade in those rudder pedals for a twisty stick and keep flying!
  22. Those were some great documentaries, thanks!
