  1. Did you get a payment confirmation e-mail from the ED store? If not, your payment hasn't actually processed yet and you can't download it until it does
  2. The external model of the Black Shark 3 module is amazing. I think it's the best 3D modeling I've seen in a sim, especially when you look at the detail underneath the service hatches. Speaking of which, how does a 3D modeler/artist even get the reference material necessary to model it to that degree?! Seems like it would be very difficult without some kind of intimate access (maybe provided by a kind and enterprising KA-50 pilot? )
  3. Interesting. No doubt there are external factors at play for 2022 (inflation mainly) putting a dent in disposable income for things like DCS modules. Anyway, I'm sure the $9.99 upgrade price for BS2 owners made that particular decision extremely easy. It certainly did for me
  4. As far as games and the Windows Auto HDR feature, that's not really true. It works quite well in every game that I've tried it with (assuming it activates - as the OP mentioned, it doesn't with DCS World for some reason.) There is at least one way to get HDR working with DCS, and that is to use the ReShade "addon" version along with the ReShade 'Auto HDR' plugin (no relation to the Windows feature.)
  5. their servers seem to be getting absolutely hammered right now (open beta update + BS3 release.) i'm sure that's just a hiccup, as it showed $9.99 correctly for me
  6. Ok, I've been reading/searching/experimenting for a while now and I still don't really have a grasp on what the best way is to achieve the following: I'd like to change the default FOV (aka view angle) for two things, one being the view angle that the sim gives you right at the start of a mission before you press any keys at all, the other being the view angle that is set when the "zoom normal" key is pressed. I understand custom snap views can be created and saved in SnapViews.lua in the ...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\View\ folder, but I don't think that's what I'm looking for since I'm not changing snap views. There is a "Views.lua" for each aircraft module which has some view angle settings, but I'm not sure a) which lines in said Views.lua file should be changed, and b) if this file can also be saved in the ...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\ folder somewhere so that changes are not made to the original files. TIA for any tips
  7. Hey guys, how do I change difficulty/game settings like labels being allowed, unlimited fuel/ammo, stuff like that, when I host my own server? I don't see anywhere to set that, and it seems to ignore my single player settings. Thanks! edit: Nevermind, found out it's controlled by each mission file (or at least it was enforced in the one we were playing, so we didn't have the option.)
  8. Yeah, flyer49 you must have some conflicting axis assignment somewhere. One controller is "blipping" the collective every once in a while, causing the sim to ignore the assignment you want and "looks at" the other incorrect one. Just go into your controls and make sure collective only has one assignment and all other controls/keys for collective are blanked out.
  9. Ahh yes, nothing like some good old fashioned rivet counting. :)
  10. Supposedly they are updating the flight model to be a little more stable so hopefully this won't be so difficult to correct (with the standard controllers most of us use anyway...)
  11. It seems they (Belsimtek/ED) have something up their sleeves with regards to pilot rescue ops or similar things. It will be really cool to see what they come up with. The mission possibilities could be endless!
  12. I was wondering the same thing recently. It'd be cool to know what they thought of it. :)
  13. It takes lots of practice and good hardware (i.e. a quality joystick with a light spring and as much throw/travel as possible, or even better a joystick with an extension.) I recently upgraded to a CH Fighterstick, which has a good bit of throw compared to most of the cheaper joysticks out there, and I found it MUCH easier for precise maneuvering. After a couple hours of practice I've gotten quite good with the Huey. :) You'll get there.
  14. +1 There should just be a simple option to check to enable TrackIR-based aiming in the doorgunner or left pilot positions. No need to do anything fancier than that.
  15. I think there is some issue with this, after I started it up and flew around for about 10 minutes, that step of the tutorial finally went away. The throttle was definitely at 100% and the RPMs were fine.
  16. Haha, people complained about the A-10's initial pricetag too. I think sometimes people forget just how small of a niche the PC hardcore combat simulator market is.
  17. Thank you, Belsimtek team :) You guys obviously worked your butt off on this and it shows.
  18. Did the Belsimtek team have actual UH-1 pilots on their team (or at least on the testing team?)
  19. That is a huge bug, how does something like this not get fixed for a major non-beta release? Anyway, guess I will turn off cockpit shadows until the next version (who knows when that will be.) Something like this really does need a hot fix.
  20. A friend and I who are still pretty new to DCS A10 tried this mission out tonight and I just wanted to say, you did an awesome job! Thank you for making it!
  21. I've never been able to get a perfect trim going e.g. when lining up a CCRP release! It always banks slightly to one side and then the other even with the lightest tap of the trim key. I think it's realistic though, I would think wind and such would always be buffeting the aircraft and making slight changes to attitude.
  22. This would be really cool if it pans out. However, I do remain cautiously optimistic. Not only would the Kinect have to prove that it can process input data for a nice lag-free movement in game, but we would need some official support in some form to get good use out of it in game with out hours and hours of configuration and troubleshooting headaches. I can pretty much guarantee MS will have no interest in developing a Trackir-type program for interfacing with obscure hardcore PC flight sims, so that leaves it up to either each individual game developer - and who has time to dedicate to such a project when they have the game itself to worry about? - or end users doing stuff in their spare time, which is cool but leads to buggy and troublesome software. Honestly I'd just be thrilled if Naturalpoint would make a wireless (battery powered) Trackclip Pro and a way to wear it on my head without having to use a headset. Maybe a slim, wireless design on a lightwight and comfy headband would be just the thing.
