  1. Yes please. For multiplayer, where you have a human ATC, it can be quite annoying to have the AI ATC constantly talking over everyone in the background. Drives you insane after 10 minutes on the ground
  2. Hi Flappie, as I mentioned in my edit: It worked :thumbup: I deleted the entire content of the CoreMods folder and initiated the repair. It seemed to just copy the files from the Open Beta installation. Now, DCS launches again. I do not appear to have any other problems: DCS worked fine last weekend. Thank you guys for your assistance !!!
  3. Sorry for the late response, I am, unfortunately, only on my DCS computer on weekends. I deleted the aircraft folder in Coremods and repaired the installation. The only thing that changed was that I got the authorization messages (e.g. "you dont have a key for the Spitfire", "you dont have a key for the Mi 8" etc) again (I stopped getting the individual messages when DCS stopped launching properly. I only got the summary of all modules which are not authorized.) I will try to delete the entire Coremods content now and download/repair over night. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your inputs  @Flappie voice_chat is and was "false" in the options.lua EDIT: Awesome guys, it worked. I deleted the entire content of the CoreMods folder and initiated the repair. It seemed to just copy the files from the Open Beta installation. Now, DCS launches again. I will have to try tomorrow and see if there are no other problems with the installation.
  4. Thanks for your inputs! ya the RAM problem sucks. But I have been able to play the game so far without any problems though. I tried clean up and repair. Didnt help... I saw in the event monitor that while the game update was downloading over night, my PC crashed... not sure if that can corrupt the installation to the extent that repair cannot solve the problem. I will try to revert back to the previous stable release and see if that fixes it. This will take a while though, because it appears to be a 20GB download.
  5. Hi, I deleted the DCS folder in SavedGames. The only thing that changed was that the DCS window became a smaller window instead of a fullscreen window. I also deleted the shaders folder, which did not help. I installed the open beta now. I can launch the game but it usually crashes when I start or land (right at touch-down) an aircraft. :(
  6. Good afternoon everyone, after installing the update over night, I am unable to launch DCS. As others have described, I just get a black screen with the DCS process sitting at about 800 MB RAM and no CPU/GPU/SDD activity. I am not running any mods and have tried the cleanup and repair (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/709/) The log (below) includes 2 lines that look suspicious: 2020-07-25 14:20:28.113 ERROR EDCORE: Can't open file 'bazar/shaders/posteffects/slot.fx.' from fs I deleted the DCS folder in SavedGames. The only thing that changed is that the DCS window is now a smaller window instead of a fullscreen window. I also deleted the shaders folder, which did not help. 2020-07-25 14:20:31.204 ALERT Dispatcher: Error starting Game GUI: [string "./MissionEditor/modules/mul_voicechat.lua"]:19: module 'VoiceChat' not found: This also looks strange. Could this prevent DCS from launching properly? I installed a couple of modules during the free trial in April and purchased only some of them (I am getting a couple of messages that tell me that I do not have the key for the modules that I installed but didnt purchase. only thing of note here is that items like "MQ-9 Reaper AI" and "VoiceChat" and TAVKR 1143 High Detail" etc. have not appeared in this list before the update. "F-14B AI" appears in this list even though I purchased the F-14 module 2 weeks ago). Could the old modules cause this problem? Can I edit a file that tells DCS which modules to download? If I delete the aircraft folder, DCS tries to download 20GB of data, which takes a while with my internet. I would rather not spend my time waiting for that download to finish, without knowing if that can fix the problem. Thanks for your assistance ! my log: EDIT: The solution that worked for me: I deleted the entire content of the CoreMods folder and initiated the repair. It seemed to just copy the files from the Open Beta installation. Now, DCS launches again.
