Good afternoon everyone,
after installing the update over night, I am unable to launch DCS. As others have described, I just get a black screen with the DCS process sitting at about 800 MB RAM and no CPU/GPU/SDD activity.
I am not running any mods and have tried the cleanup and repair (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/709/)
The log (below) includes 2 lines that look suspicious:
2020-07-25 14:20:28.113 ERROR EDCORE: Can't open file 'bazar/shaders/posteffects/slot.fx.' from fs
I deleted the DCS folder in SavedGames. The only thing that changed is that the DCS window is now a smaller window instead of a fullscreen window.
I also deleted the shaders folder, which did not help.
2020-07-25 14:20:31.204 ALERT Dispatcher: Error starting Game GUI: [string "./MissionEditor/modules/mul_voicechat.lua"]:19: module 'VoiceChat' not found:
This also looks strange. Could this prevent DCS from launching properly?
I installed a couple of modules during the free trial in April and purchased only some of them (I am getting a couple of messages that tell me that I do not have the key for the modules that I installed but didnt purchase. only thing of note here is that items like "MQ-9 Reaper AI" and "VoiceChat" and TAVKR 1143 High Detail" etc. have not appeared in this list before the update. "F-14B AI" appears in this list even though I purchased the F-14 module 2 weeks ago).
Could the old modules cause this problem? Can I edit a file that tells DCS which modules to download? If I delete the aircraft folder, DCS tries to download 20GB of data, which takes a while with my internet. I would rather not spend my time waiting for that download to finish, without knowing if that can fix the problem.
Thanks for your assistance !

EDIT: The solution that worked for me: I deleted the entire content of the CoreMods folder and initiated the repair. It seemed to just copy the files from the Open Beta installation. Now, DCS launches again.
