  1. I have in the past made post on how to make any aircraft flyable. Simple text edits, how to's. ED didnt mind. You cannot package a cockpit from FC3 and distribute it. Or any other dcs Module. I have a lot of fun with a F-5 with a Mig-29 pit for example. Sure its not correct. But its still fun for a while. Note: I quit because I broke too many installs.
  2. I know of one P51 in a wartime configuration. Even the gun heaters. (major fire hazard) I have no idea how its approved by the FAA. I do know it flies regularly. I would think there is more then one out there in the USA.
  3. If you are afraid of putting your credit card online, you can go to a major store and buy a prepaid card for your purchase. Just a suggestion.
  4. Thanks for sharing! Do you know what the size of the oil tank was on the P47?
  5. Lets think of this in game only. The rocket is fired. The helicopters CG is affected. The flight model reacts. We get angry. Now take the limitations on our real sim hardware. A short joystick that is more accurate than most of us are able to fly, trying to replicate a real cyclic that's longer and less precise. The real thing just has the advantage of feedback. I have found that with a longer sim cyclic and FFB, the recoil effects are dramatic reduced. Simulations has an issue in being perfect. What I mean is that even though physics say that a change in CG means x will happen, in real life it just doesn't. Aerodynamics of a moving helicopter are very complex it turns out. This is the limitation in sim software. If you want something entertaining to do, I suggest loading one side with rockets only. Try to fly the Huey and maintain the course with a CG imbalance on your rocket run. Im Sorry I have no answers on this issue. But try to think about what it really happening vs posting a YouTube vid that looks good.
  6. ${1} Here is a very small sample of some uploaded information. And incase I failed the viewer, here is a link
  7. I spent some time last night shorting and editing up the movies taken for the rotor head. I hope to finish it tonight. If you see something missing from it. Please submit what you believe will help. The mast is a very complicated piece of engineering. Sometimes when you look at the big picture. Little things don't stand out to individuals. I no longer work on the airframe. If you don't mind, can you pm me your place of work? I am missing working on rotorcraft.
  8. It would have to do more with tactics than equipment. Both airframes have there faults and strengths. Both aircraft in the right hands are very maneuverable. Historically, Iran has used its F14s as a kind of Airborne radar station. Its powerful radar would help locate targets and it would call in other aircraft to take out the threat. It would not play a role in front line combat. Its too valuable to loose. Not to mention that if the Aim-54 was intended for fleet defense against high flying bombers launching cruse missiles. A F15 is a much harder target that a Tu95. The F14A also has some engine issues. This was solved with the A+ models and newer. But Iran's F14s would still have this fault. On the plus side. The F-14 has an amazing loiter time. I don't mean range. I mean how long can it stay up in the air and not refuel. It was designed to sit 150 miles away from a carrier and make sure nothing passed it. It was made to keep aircraft from approaching the carrier group. 2 pilots provide 4 eyes to scan the sky. Always a plus. The F15I is a proven fighter with the Israel air force. The Israel pilots are some of the best trained in the world and combat tested. The F15 was made to go into enemy territory, find air targets defending it, and destroy them. It was made to hunt aircraft like the F14. Do to training and support. I would bet on the Israels every time. Iran's airforce is too underfunded to keep its pilots and crew to a level necessary for any major conflict.
  9. Silent Service for the NES. You cant go wrong!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Service_(video_game)
  10. Alright, Being that I have now properly read though the thread and have looked at whats what. My numbers were the following. Protractor was zeroed out on the skis. This cancelled out the fact that the ramp is slanted a few degrees for rain and snow removal. Skis 0° Cabin Floor @ station 150 is 5.45° Nose high. Cabin Floor @ station 50 is 5.40° Nose high. I never thought to measure the cabin ceiling. The thought never came to me. Mast shaft is 90.35° on the front. Mast shaft at the rear is 89.65° Now here is where my memory fails me. I remember back before release looking the in game model and seeing this all line up. It all looked good back in November of 2012 when I logged it all. To be honest and in my defense. I don't play Huey much. I don't remember the last time i looked at the external model very closely. I just tend to fly it from the inside. Now looking at Nates drawing. I looks like my numbers fit in very well. The current model is indeed wrong. Looking at it, the easy fix would be to cut and inch out of the front skis. That should bring the mast vertical enough. The only thing to be clear on is that the Mast is Vertical. Not forward or aft. As for the political thing. I just browse the forums on my lunch and breaks at work with my phone. I make mistakes and misread what is wrote. The only political move I tend to make is neutral statements. You would be amazed what people would hang you over around here.
  11. Long story short. I measured the mast with a calibrated protractor. It was very close to the ingame model. From memory, .35 degrees off aft. I don't have the number with me because its in a book I wrote it in, I lost when I moved this summer. So that number is the one in my head. The floor number is how the floor sits in the real Huey. 5.45 degrees nose up. Now take Nates drawing, put the floor 5.45 degrees up. The mast would be .45 degrees aft based on that information. 0 degrees being straight up. The ingame model sits at about 0 degrees? Straight up. Now, .45 degrees on a 1900x1080 screen will be about 1 pixel? I can't see that worth reporting. Contact French Bell. They may just give you the same information. I'm out of break time now. I'll try to scrounge up my information when I'm home on my pc.
  12. Check the ground level Nate, The deck (floor) of a uh1 sits at 5.45 degrees while on the ground empty. I personally took this measurement from a calibrated source. This puts the rotor in your 1st picture at .45 degrees after on the skis. When in alpha I spent a few days taking all the early complaints on model errors and checked them with a calibrated source on a UH-1H. I found all of them within .5 degree. I did not report any of the complaints based on that data.
  13. Floor level attitude. This may prove to hurt your case Hueyman. I can't explain right now. I will tonight when I can get off my phone.
  14. The first rule about WIP. We do not talk about WIP. The second rule about WIP. We do not talk about WIP. All joking aside, smoke duration and intensity are being adjusted for best realism and performance. It can't be nice looking if it makes a slideshow. I'm sure there will be mods to change the smoke to personal settings if you do not like the smoke that is given.
  15. I'm sorry that I do not have time to watch the track. The trigger for destroying the bridge is 2 infantry on both ends of the bridge being killed. Last I checked, the sim does not know if a bridge is destroyed. Are you sure the bridge collapsed or were the infantry just killed on the bridge in your gun pass.
  16. Nevermind. Check here. http://shop.wingstv.ru/category/series/ MI8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMgbcE-fVME Mig-29 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXYevIHV5a0&list=PLFD5DAE4FEDF65435 I couldn't find the rest on Youtube. I might buy the set.
  17. I thought it was a great documentary on the SU27. For anyone critical of the title. "The best fighter in the world" was what the designer intended to build. As such, the documentary used it as its title. I learned more about it than any US documentary on US aircraft. Did they make a documentary on any other aircraft? It was worth the 3 hours to watch. Willing to watch more. A Mig21 would get my attention. Would love to learn more.
  18. Why can't it be next after the F18?
  19. The heading says it all. I have permission from the wife to go to a 4 screen setup. I'm planing to go with 3 flat screen tvs and a monitor under the center one. I am currently using a gtx 570 2.5 gb card. Can I use Triplehead2GO, or would it be better to update my card to a multiscreen setup?
  20. I don't know why you believe Rage has to show his sources. The search function works for everyone. It has been stated on the forums multiple times about seeker logic. Nearly this entire thread is based off his hard work. Give the man a break. He's working to improve the sim for everyone.
  21. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=41814 You can for the current engine. However, to my knowledge, no has ever completed a project for public release. Everyone is waiting for the new IG.
  22. It seems you have the information you need. You just over looked one small detail. The floor is 5.45 degrees. I took the measurements from ground level. If you round the numbers the collective will travel 35 to 65 degrees. Nice prototype!
  23. And that is Kerbal Space Program in a sidewinder.
  24. Good luck flying out there. See you in the virtual skies.
