Aviation Push

I sort of imagine the masses of people involved in flying, developing, training, across the simulation worlds. The stats are massively enormous when it comes to heavier planes.
Yet there isn’t much interest or discussions related to the development of heavy aircraft.
C-17 WTF for?
I’ll tell you WTF for, I have needs to fly it, I Used a yoke controller for 80% of my flights last year.
90% of that was autopilot.

What? Are you seriously demanding a C-17 because "I have needs to fly it...?"

cichlidfan 08-03-2012 11:40 PM

I have needs too but Charlize Theron won't take my calls. :P

Yes how seriously could I no demand it.
That giff is getting on my nerves.

I don't see how using a yoke is relevant; the C-17 doesn't have one.

A C-17 or C-130 would be cool, could do some cool low level tac work. Plus the MOAB, can't forget that.

There is a C-17 III in X-Plane.

This could fulfil you Globemaster itch in the short term. I don't think any modder for DCS World is contemplating Heavies at this time (trainers and fighters are the order of the day, at the moment, since those aircraft capture the needs of most users at this time).

WildBillKelsoe 08-04-2012 08:53 AM

well, the OP got a point there. I mean, in terms of a dynamic battlefield, a globe master or fat albert could provide means for logistics transfer (ammo and fuel trucks maybe) between forward and rear echelon posts. Let alone paradrops for troops into cities, as well as MOAB or even specialized jamming platform working with SEAD/DEAD. Hell even a spooky helps alot.

Enough talk of heavy lifters. Someone tell me that the Mirage III wouldn't be one of the juiciest choices for a DCS aircraft; everyone had them and there's heaps of legit theatres.

AlphaOneSix 08-04-2012 10:58 AM

I've started work on an AH-64A module. Sadly, by "started work on" I mean that I've though to myself "Hey self, an AH-64A module would be a really good idea...".

That's where I'm currently stuck. Development has ground to a halt.
