Missions' Briefings:

1) Operation: Battle Over Sukhumi City

* Mission lasts for 3.5 hours.

Situation:

Ground forces of both coalitions are fighting fiercly at Sukhumi city. Provide CAS for your forces.

RED Objectives:

Destroy any enemy ground units in the city of Sukhumi.

2) Operation: Battle For Maykop

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

Both the Red nation and the Blue nation aspire to expand and control more territory. Maykop seems to provide a high level strategic zone for further operations across the region. Both nations have already sent their ground units to capture Maykop's airbase. They're fighting hard by the southern side of the airdrome and not willing to give up. It's time to call in the airforce!

The team holding Maykop by the end of the mission (before serverrotates) will be the winner. Otherwise it's a draw.

RED Objectives:

Fighters:
Provide CAP south of Maykop to enable our strikers and helicopters to perform their tasks safely. Enemy strikers and helicopters are top priority!

Provide CAS for our ground units 2 km south of Maykop's airbase. Possible enemy AAA's in the area (IFF before firing! Our ground units are facing east and are in the woods. The enemy has his units in the open). Once the enemy is wiped out a message will appear confirming the success of the mission.
FARP Kapel (last waypoint for Ka-50) is near Maykop and serves as a FAB.

FARP Rome (124.5) serves as a FAB near Maykop.

3) Operation: Phone Booth

* Mission lasts for 4.5 hours

Situation:

Red bases: Mozdok (main airbase), Beslan (secondary), FARP Yunga
Blue bases: Mineralnye Vody (main airbase), Nalchik (secondary), FARP Dallas

The struggle between the Red and Blue nations over the Caucasus region continues after the battle for Maykop (previous mission). This time the fight is on the northern eastern front around Mozdok (Red) and Mineralnye Vody (Blue).


RED Objectives:

Mozdok is our main airbase and Beslan is used as an alternative one. Unfortunately enemy ground forces (light APC's and infantries - no tanks) are all over Beslan's airfield. Therefore our pilots there can't operate their planes. They're hiding safely in a secret bunker waiting for our strikers to wipe out the enemy so they can scramble their aircrafts and assist in dominating the region.
Meanwhile our ground forces are surrounding Nalchik to cripple the enemy alongside the mountains.

Friendly FARP is at MP60 south of the town of Stariy Bataksyurt.

Fighters:
Provide CAP across the region, especially between Mozdok and Nalchik to intercept possible enemy strikers and helicopters on their way to free Nalchik from our siege.

Strikers/Helicopters:
- Destroy enemy ground units surrounding Beslan so we can operate the airbase once again. (A message will appear on the screen to confirm the elimination of the enemy)
- Additional task: The enemy has a comm array at LP79 north of the river. Destroy it to blind their GCI.

Note: The enemy is only using light APC's and infantires at Beslan. Mi-8 pilots can go for some strafing runs and show some skill!

Transport:
Mi-8's can pick up crates within 150 meters from the FARP and deploy ground units. Use the F-10 menu.

BLUE Objectives:

Mineralnye Vody is our main airbase and Nalchik is used as an alternative one. Unfortunately enemy ground forces (light APC's and infantries - no tanks) are all over Nalchik's airfield. Therefore our pilots there can't operate their planes. They're hiding safely in a secret bunker waiting for our strikers to wipe out the enemy so they can scramble their aircrafts and assist in dominating the region.

4) Operation: Springfield

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

The never ending war between the two vast nations goes on relentlessly. This time on the southern front of the Caucasus region. A fight over two important towns near a vital railway. The town of AGARA (belongs to Red) and the town of KARELI (belongs to Blue). Both found at grid MM05 at bullseye.

RED Objectives:

MiG-21: (and MiG-15)
Provide CAP over bullseye and make sure our strikers and helicopters can carry out their missions safely. Watch out for possible enemy Mistral Gezelles flying patrols.

Strikers:
Su-25 & Su-25T & L-39ZA:
Provide CAS at bullseye.
- Primary objective is to destroy any enemy ground forces seen at KARELI town (WP-1 / bullseye) and the two outposts.
- Secondary objective is to eliminate the enemy's EWR at the city of GORI 15km east of bullseye.

NOTE:
All ground units at AGARA town and west of it are friendly. All units at KARELI town and east of it are hostile. Ground units fighting between AGARA and KARELI towns are both friendly and hostile! Make sure you IFF before you fire! Any BMP's you see are friendly.

NOTE:
All ground units at KARELI town and east of it are friendly. All units at AGARA town and west of it are hostile. Ground units fighting between KARELI and AGARA towns are both friendly and hostile! Make sure you IFF before you fire! Any BMP's you see are hostile.

5) Operation: Ossetia

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

Red airfields: Kutaisi and Senaki-Kolkhi.
Blue airfields: Nalchik and Beslan.

It is time to strike!
The Blue forces are focusing their air to ground missions on several vital areas around Kutaisi. The Red forces are therefore pouring all effort into stopping these attacks while flying CAP missions more than ever. The outcome of this battle on this cold day will determine the destiny of the southern coastal region.


RED Objectives:

* Provide CAP all day long!

Areas you need to protect from enemy strikers:

- At the city of Ambrolauri LN40 we have road outposts.
- At the Tqibuli Reservoir (the so-called Kutaisi Lake) LM28 we have pump stations (check out image 4).
- In the city of Kutaisi at the old airfield we have a military flight school (check out images 1+2). Losing that will disable L-39ZA's.
- 1 km south of Senaki-Kolkhi's airfield we have refinery buildings that are of vital value! (check out image 3).
- There is a TV Tower at the city of HONI, KM88 (image 5)


Note:
- L-39ZA's spawn with 100% fuel and two R-60M's. If you want to refuel/rearm you have to fly back to Kutaisi's main or Senaki-Kolkhi's airfield.

You can deploy AA crates after picking them up at Kutaisi using the F-10 menu to help defending our territory.
Unpack your crates at least 3 km away from Kutaisi.

BLUE Objectives:

Fighters:
Provide escort for our strikers!

Strikers:

Intel has provided us with 5 target areas of high value that need to be destroyed!

1- Waypoint 1 is the city of Ambrolauri LN40 where the enemy has three road outposts; light AAA's. Waypoint 1 is also bullseye.
2- Waypoint 2 is the Tqibuli Reservoir (the so-called Kutaisi Lake) LM28 where you need to eliminate four pump stations (check out image 4).
3- Waypoint 3 is Kutaisi's old airfield right in the city of Kutaisi. Destroy the military's flight school building to disable his L-39ZA's (check out images 1+2).
4- Waypoint 4 is a TV Tower at the city of HONI, KM88 (check out image 5).
5- Waypoint 5 is Senaki-Kolkhi's airfield. 1 km south are seven refinery buildings that must be destroyed at all costs (check out image 3)! However, you should begin with the easier target areas. After all, Senaki's protected by a number of AAA's, one Strela and two Kub sites 8-15 miles northeast and west of the airfeild.

How to know which target area (TA) is closed:

Once a TA is finished a Blue M4 infantry unit will spawn 10 miles north of Nalchik at the city of BAKSAN LP83. That unit will carry the name of that TA as an indication. Press F-10 to see if there is an M4 infantry unit indicating the completion of that objective. Four objectives = four possible M4 units.

6) Operation: Five Points

* Mission lasts for 4 hours


Here at the far western front the clashes continue at the Five Points. Whoever controls the area gains control over the vital pipelines of the entire region. The Red nation holds Krasnodar C. as its main airbase and Gelendzhik as its second while the Blue nation operates from Anapa primarily and uses Novorossiysk as a secondary airfield. A ground battle east of Krymsk has started to gain control over Krymsk's airbase.

Krymsk, Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik can all be captured and recaptured. To do so one has only to destroy the ground targets of the enemy at one of the airbases.


RED Objectives:

All flights:

Krymsk is neutral when the mission starts (check it out using the F-10 option). 12 km east of Krymsk's airbase are the enemy ground units facing EAST. Our ground units are 16 km east of Krymsk's airbase facing WEST (facing the enemy's ground units). In order to capture Krymsk we'll have to destroy these enemy ground units. Once done we'll have defending ground units at Krymsk and available airplanes to operate.
NOTE: If the enemy has captured Krymsk first then we'll still have to destroy his ground forces east of Krymsk first and then his defending units at the airbase.

Gelendzhik is our secondary airbase housing the MiG-15's and the L-39's. Novorossiysk however is hostile and can be captured by destroying the enemy's ground units around it. Once captured we'll have some available airplanes to operate.

Waypoint 1 for the Frogfoots is the enemy ground units east of Krymsk.

If we lose an airbase we can recapture it.
NOTE: Anapa and Krasnodar C. airbases can't be captured!

BLUE Objectives:

All flights:

Krymsk is neutral when the mission starts (check it out using the F-10 option). 12 km east of Krymsk's airbase are our ground units facing EAST. NOTE: Krasnodar C. and Anapa airbases can't be captured!

11) Operation: When The Mountains Cry

* Mission lasts for 8 hours

Situation:

RED airbases: Kutaisi, Senaki, Kobuleti and Batumi.
BLUE airbases: Tbilisi, Vaziani and Soganlug.

At the southern and mountainous side of the Caucasus each coalition has seized 4 lakes, and established a water station at every lake. The ninth lake however is uncaptured by any.
These lakes provide a vital source for clean waters that both coalitions are seeking to hold. While keeping your water stations safe, try to destroy the enemy's and deploy troops to prevent any repair attempts.
With the raids at the lakes, the mountains cry. War has it.

NOTE:
All lakes are marked on the F-10 map.


RED Objectives:

MiG-21's/MiG-15's:
Bullseye is Waypoint-1 and is our lake with the main water station. Provide CAP and keep all 4 water stations safe.

15) Operation: Catch Me If You Can

* Mission lasts for 4 hours.

* Part of the mission towards the end will be at night to allow the B-52 to move in if an objective is completed!

Red airbases: Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk and a road base (marked on the F-10 map)
Blue airbases: Sochi and a FARP (marked on the F-10 map)

Blue cargo ships have delivered goods to the town of Tuapse at bullseye. 3 Red convoys sneaked in and snatched whatever goods they could load on their trucks and are now on their way back to Gelendzhik.
Blue must conduct a search and destroy operation to eliminate the convoys, while Red tries to destroy the 2 ships escaping Tuapse due south.


RED Objectives:

*** Check out the F-10 map for useful predefined marks ***

The town of Tuapse (bullseye, (for MiG-21's it's ARC channel number 4, sector 2 / l ) is where our 3 convoys are escaping with loads of goods being transported by supply trucks, escorted by tanks and AAA's.
Make sure you provide cover and engage any aerial threats.
The convoys will send their current location regularly, so pay attention to any message popping up on your screen!

Simultaneously, the 2 Blue cargo ships that had delivered the goods at Tuapse town are now escaping heading 170 from bullseye.
Search for them and send them to the bottom of the sea!

The enemy has a FARP at EJ26 at the town of Lazarevskoe (for MiG-21's it's ARC channel number 7, sector 2 / l) marked on the F-10 map. Try to destroy it to cripple their helicopters searching for our convoys.

We have a road-base for 2 x L-39's at EK04 at the town of Goryachiy Klyuch (marked on the F-10 map). Both planes have 84% fuel (wingtips are empty) and 2 R-3S missiles.
Use these planes to intercept the enemy real quick before he gets to our convoys.
(Note that you must RTB to Geledzhik or Novorossyisk for reamring and refueling)

BLUE Objectives:

The town of Tuapse (bullseye, is where the 3 enemy convoys are escaping from on the coastal highway.
Search for them and make sure they never make it back to Gelendzhik. They must be destroyed!

Simultaneously, our 2 cargo ships are trying to escape heading 170 from bullseye to survive any possible aerial attacks by the enemy. Listen to AWACS carefully and engage any bandits going feet wet.

At DK14, 44°38'13'' N - 37°54'23'' E is a SAM SA-2 site (check out image).
The SAM site is exactly between the enemy's two airbases Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk (marked on the F-10 map). This objective is a risky one, but if you could take out the SAM's radar unit, we'd be able to send a single B-52 once it's become dark (around 18:30 or later) to bombard the fuel depots at Gelendzhik's airbase.

16) Operation: Chaos

* Mission lasts for 2 hours.
* All weapons are allowed except for the nuke bombs.

Situation:

Red airbase: Gudauta.
Blue airbase: Sukhumi.

In this mission the goal is to raise the stress level of the pilots quite high by having their airbases separated by only ca. 50 km (ca. 30 miles). You taxi, take off and fly right into action. Dogfights are the main battles here, however, there are 6 cargo ships right next to both airbases that pilots can try and go on a risky mission trying to sink them at bullseye.

Feel free to fly over the enemy's airbase and drop bombs on it. Only IR SAM's and AAA's defend both airbases.

All weapons except for the nuke bombs are allowed, however in very limited numbers.

Objectives For Both Coalitions Are The Same:

* There are 6 enemy ships at bullseye next to the enemy's airbase. Try to sink them!
* Meet the enemy planes over the coast line and turn 'em into ashes!

The Cold War was meant to finish what the two wars had begun. Escalation between the Americans and the Russians was only a matter of time. In 1947 the political disagreements between the two sides led into the first skirmishes in eastern Asia followed by various clashes in Europe. The battles to follow over the next decades until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 had marked the wartime of that era. Act Three came to an end.


* The scenario of this mission is fictional and based on my imagination regarding what could've had happened.

In this dynamic campaign the focus will be mainly on the MiG-21 and the F-5 and other modules that I see suitable for the scenario I have. That being said jet planes like the Su-27, Su-33, F-15, MiG-29, M-2000, F-18 and F-14 will be excluded to simply give third generation fighters/interceptors or planes of an inferior generation the chance of dogfighting rather than having BVR aerial battles most of the time. However, the F-4 being an icon of the Cold War will surely be added once available. Until the F-4 gets released, the Harrier will take its place.


Mission:
The server rotates every 6 hours. All data will be saved. The only goal is to capture all airbases and all FARP's.
Each airbase has one SAM battery, IR SAM's, AAA's, tanks and APC's. FARP's are defended by IR SAM's, AAA's, tanks and APC's, no SAM batteries.
Mi-8's and UH-1's can deploy various types of vehicles and troops.
Anit-ship missions will be added. Currently unavailable.


Server Rules:

1) Teamkills whether against players or AI might result in immediate banning! Make sure you're attacking the right plane/airbase/etc.
2) No taxiway takeoffs! The only exception is if your airbase is under attack and you need to scramble.
3) We all lose our tempers. Just keep it cool.

How to capture/recapture airbases/FARP's (using CTLD by Ciribob):

1) Destroy all enemy ground units at a particular airbase/FARP.
2) Take whatever type of troops in your Mi-8/UH-1 and deploy them within 1000 m from that airbase/FARP.
3) Wait 60 seconds after troops' insertion and make sure they stay alive that long and the airbase/FARP is yours!


AWACS/GCI:

Each coalition has one AWACS plane that is hidden on the map, far away from battle and can't be killed. So don't trouble yourself.

Red AWACS and Red GCI operate on 124 MHz. (Channel 0 for MiG-21bis and L-39ZA)
Blue AWACS and Blue GCI operate on 251 MHz.

As much as I'd love to do that for all the Harrier pilots out there but unfortunately the version of the Harrier we have is of the late 90's.

Great news! I like silhouette iff environments the most + dynamic. And we are expecting two more cold war era airframes hopefully soon, one for each side, Mig19 and A7. Slowly getting there.
