  1. Do I buy a 3D printer.... I guess It would be very useful for other things too.... like the harrier pit for example.
  2. Not sure about the lights.... but it does look fantastic! I hope they do something special with the base... either way, wallet is ready!
  3. My God you are flying the anti Christ itself with that config! Is Auto hover a nightmare?
  4. Are all you posters force feedback joysticks users? Perhaps force feedback at this level of detail just cannot be done without big bucks? With a standard stick I can drop her into a hover fast, trim her clean to hover and activate auto hover. In auto hover she drifts a little but corrects nicely and is without doubt realistic to my needs within a very tight firing position. Or perhaps there is a software correction required that does not kill our standard centering stick inputs.
  5. But without doubt! I am truly looking forward to laying my hands on a collective that has so much switchery, analogue adjustability, and so many 4 way hats that it is beyond belief! The DCS AH-64D and the Physical Virpil collective, Total controls MPDs have literally caused a massive change in my virtual pit.
  6. Agreed. A basic base unit that has hydraulics built into it, a premier unit that any one can upgrade too..... we can hope!
  7. It has to be one of the most challenging collectives to build. There are sooo many switches, hats & analogue hats that need to be squeezed into such a small collective, it must be a nightmare. it is basically 2 collectives in one unit. I am waiting wallet ready!
  8. Remove the saturation and dead zones in your pedals. Pedal work must always be instantaneous and a proportional to your actual leg work. The pedals must be adjusted quickly and smoothly in response to your collective adjustments. Remove all dead zones and saturation from your collective, this is a simple linear adjustment that does not need any curves or saturation. It does sound like a pedal assignment conflict to me.
  9. I hope Virpil do something bespoke for the AH-64D apache collective base unit and do not use the standard chopper collective unit. For me, It feels painfully long waiting for the 64D collective to be released.
  10. I think this is the first module I have bought where I am thinking that 60% of the awesomeness of the AH-64D can only be found online in multiplayer. I was fine playing SP with all other modules, but in the Apache, George works but he does not utilise the 64D’s capabilities to its full. The Kiowa and longbow net will simply reinforce the need for MP play for me. How is ED’s voice com maturing?
  11. if you have problems on the Huey... which is the easiest chopper to fly in DCS, then yes go through all your axis bindings and keyboard bindings. DCS has an annoying habit of automatically assigning functions to your Hotas system when it boots up for the first time. This automatic assignment is helpful to not one sim pilot.... except maybe a warthog pilot with a Thrustmaster Warthog joystick and throttle.
  12. As Devrim says. We have waited long and hard for this module and even though I have had little time on the 64D (a shameful 100+), I come back to it time and again and it is a challenging weapon to fly. For me it is the best helicopter flight model in DCS and all the gadgetry, bells and whistles are a true delightful bonus.
  13. PEDALS! For Fu%ks sake balance your pedals! Hold the centre sill level to horizon as the collective increases!
  14. No curves. No Saturation Just raw analogue input. centre stick, 10cm cyclic extension on my airframe. Balance the cockpit's centre sill to horizon as you increase collective, This is Roll I am talking about. Balance roll via the pedals only. Right pedal leans left and left pedal leans right. Start pedal right, as you increase collective, smoothly increase the left pedal to balance the airframe's natural roll to righ( ignore the hover digital display), keep increasing left pedal as you increase collective. hold the centre sill level with the horizon. Increase collective until wheels light. ensure your centre sill is horizontal with the horizon. When the roll is done right, you will simply drift off the ground..... it is all pedal work with this girl. The airframe will naturally hang right low & tail low in hover.... but this will become apparent as you drift off the ground and may need simple cyclic adjustment. I just think she is the best chopper in DCS! Hover and BoB up digital displays are advisory only, what you are hiding behind is the primary point of reference in day light. Night time manoeuvres is whole different level!
  15. Yes indeed a lovely update, an entirely new chopper to learn. It almost upsets me that the Kiowa may not be in the same league for agility. Loved my last flight with the AP off.... light weight fluidity! You simply rode the weight of the machine. Fabulous work Polychops and done the right way! I am sure there is more work to do..... but Bravo Polychops! Bravis!
