  1. That's not the process I follow in the video. I first select the mavericks, wait for them to time out and then do my targetting with the pod. Usually I wouldn't bother bringing up the maverick video for the E2 model as you get a hud indicator for the seeker position anyway. I would just designate with the tpod, fire the laser and then uncage the maverick.
  2. Just posted this video into my Viggen playlist which I think is one of the few which talks about recon in the Viggen.
  3. That's very funny that you should mention the sidewinder uncage. I've always done that as it makes sense that you would want to confirm the stability of the lock and expand the maximum allowable seeker offset in case you are manuevering. I get so many comments on Youtube from people saying that you don't need to do that and it's a extra pointless step. While technically true I think my method is more correct.
  4. I'm now running a tutorial series on the Viggen. Check it out at the link below!
  5. Hello all you fine Viggen drivers! I'm in the process of making a Viggen series of tutorials on my YouTube channel. Please check it out and let me know what you think. In 2023 this module is still one of the best in terms of graphical fidelity and realism. I'm having a great time covering it. Also browse the playlists on my channel for other tutorial series on the F-14, F-16, F-18, Harrier, Gazelle, Black Shark, JF-17 and probably some that I've forgotten.
  6. The more I use the kneeboard the more that I would appreciate this option.
  7. Usually the advice to to actually fly formation with the tanker as accurately as you can with certain reference points. Done correctly the probe will naturally find the basket. Because the probe is so off to the side in the harrier to refernce it versus the basket is pretty much impossible, especially in the sim with limited fov.
  8. Thanks all, the support I've been receiving is much appreciated.
  9. Hello all! I've been running a YouTube channel for a few years now where I'm building up a library of tutorial content for various DCS modules. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Always looking for input from fellow sim pilots. I also do a weekly DCS News stream on this channel, Saturday evenings CET. https://www.youtube.com/deephack F-16C Playlist F/A-18C Playlist JF-17 Playlist Harrier Playlist F-14 Playlist Mirage Playlist And many many more, browse my channel for various other stuff. Thanks!!
  10. So we currently have support in VR for hand controllers which is very nice indeed. My suggestion for a further development of this would be to have these hands visible to other players in multiplayer. This is already done with head position which is great but adding the hands would allow all kinds of cool hand signals. Preferrably the hands should be attached to the player body arms and move them also. I realise that this is quite a bit of development work and almost certainly not any kind of priotity but the immersion gains would be there for sure. Hand signals, saluting and "keeping up foreign relations" would all become possible
  11. Hello All, We are a virtual fighter squadron that operate in DCS called The Virtual Airforce (VAF), we are a milsim-lite squadron that run multi-airframe operations. We have a very well established European Wing in VAF and a newly launched North American Wing. We have an average age of 30+ within the squadron and this has made for a great and mature environment. Currently we have operational squadrons for the F-16C, F/A-18C, A-10CII, AV8B, AH-64D and we run a mixture of formal training deployment and operational deployments for these squadrons two nights a week. We have just started running up an F-15E squadron which will soon be open for recruitment. Stay tuned! We have also been searching for active ATC (ground, tower and approach), GCI and JTAC controllers for the squadron for a long time in the DCS community but have been struggling to find committed people to take on this role and spin up a controller unit within VAF. If we sound like something you would like to be a part of then please get in touch with me and I can make the relevant introductions within VAF. We look forward to welcoming you into our squadron! 12. If it's so troublesome for people then of course adding the option to adjust this independantly would be a good thing in the specials menu. Personally I would rather my simulated aircraft sound like the real thing which I think that this does.
  13. In every military aircraft video I've watched the predominant sound is the ECS. This is realistic. You have it in the hornet too, I don't feel like it's overdone. Actually I feel that it's missing in the harrier as harrier cockpit videos are dominated by the ECS sound with the occasional buzzsaw sound from the engine at high settings.
  14. @Kaktus This very handsome Deephack fellow has a playlist on the harrier.
