Can't place Mi-24's on Tha'Lah AB (home of 2 Hind sqn's irl)
Bogey Jammer replied to sirrah's topic in Bugs and Problems
Tha’lah is also broken with fixed wing aircraft. AI fighters are locked into position in hangars, even with the option to start them hot aligned on runway.- 1 reply

Why there's not many anti-ship missions
Bogey Jammer replied to Shibbyland's topic in User Created Missions General
You can set an tunable explosion placed by a zone and triggered at the start of the mission. But above 80% damage approximately, flames appear on the ship. -
Realistic Carrier Cold Start Training Mission
Bogey Jammer replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Missions and Campaigns
No worries, I replaced the condition COCKPIT INDICATION TEXT (2, "SUPT_id:13", "SUPT") with COCKPIT ARGUMENT IN RANGE (72, 0.6, 1) then I could complete the tutorial -

Realistic Carrier Cold Start Training Mission
Bogey Jammer replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Missions and Campaigns
This is the my favorite concept of a training mission. I really appreciate the short but efficient explanations about each switch/procedure step. However just after stopping the bit page to blink, the press of the menu button of the left DDI isn’t detected thus the mission gets stuck (DCS stable 2.7.5.10869). -
I hope you're not talking about me. If it's the case, let me rephrase my post to ease your pain a little bit (although you'd better simply stop watching this topic if you suffer so much) In the videos I've included, we can notice that even the same recorded scene can produce radically different sounds depending of microphone type and location. That means that the OP's point is a lost cause anyway. However it would still be interesting to hear about the SME guy's experience, just for the enjoyment to know more about the job. Could the gun sound be heard at all ? Did it produce bass/high pitched noise only ? Could vibrations be felt ? I don't ask directly because I always have the feeling to commit a sacrilege every time I post in the F-14 forum… So let's pretend the base sound of the DCS F-14's gun is realistic. I'm just confident that an acceleration effect should be implemented to help immersion. In the videos I've posted, we definitely can hear that. The lack of acceleration phase is the only issue I have with this virtual gun. That's all I needed to say in the first place, and I'm sure that will not stop the planet to spin.

What about barrel rotation acceleration ? In DCS F-14, is it ok to sound like it spins at full rate instantly when pressing the fire button ?

Use the F10 ruler to measure the DCS "true" heading of the runway. Add the magnetic declination to this value if the aircraft you're using can't display "true" heading. To get the magnetic declination, align your aircraft perfectly on the runway just before taking off, and read the difference between the magnetic compass and the F10 heading. Magnetic declination varies across location and time. So if you plan to land far away from the start position, the declination might be too different to use for accurate navigation. And if you play a scenario in the 50's, the kneeboard's 2011 charts become toilet paper.

Make the noob-54 "U" again in RWR please :D

You got a like for that kind of reply ? -
You're not HB, you're not a moderator, you're nobody. Don't lecture me like that. There is a nice debate right now in my country about freedom of speech, and your behavior is indeed falling into the harassment category.
-
I wish the user block feature comes back in this version of the forum, in order to stop that kind of harassment by random people considering there is trouble where there is none.
-
That seems to just be a trivial trigonometry problem, why is it that hard to implement a solution ?
-
I confirm that just turning off the full screen setting in options.lua can resolve the problem. I have an intel CPU. Weird, that option was always on, and DCS is still in fullscreen mode even if it's turned off… I can hardly remember that recently I fiddled with a dropdown selector with 3 options of some sort of fullscreen setting. Two of them were about fullscreen mode. I thought it was weird because it was already full screen. But I can't manage to find this selector again…

Disclaimer: I did not intent to derail that topic like that with my post. ED forum is still a warzone
