I'm so sorry to hear this news. I'll do a flight in the MiG-15 for you tonight. I'm glad you brought so much joy to so many people from what you brought to life in DCS.

Has anyone done a skin like the F-86 on the cover of the awesome old Mig Alley game from the late 90s? Not historical but sorta fun considering that was the last real sim before DCS to do the Korean War.

I have the 15, the 21 and the F-86. Somehow I prefer the MiGs even though the Sabre is a beautiful plane. The 15 in particular is my favorite, it's just complex enough it's a challenge to learn all the systems, redundancies, emergency procedures, etc. But it's not so complex it's overwhelming. I like the cockpit layout and visibility in the 15 far more than the Sabre and though its handling gets very sluggish at high mach where the Sabre doesn't as much, I find I can fly the MiG a lot more smoothly overall.

I've seen some multiplayer maps lately that include the 15, the F86 and some later jets in Cold War scenarios. My Steam name is the same as here, if anyone wants to try doing some group flying. I'm fairly new to multiplayer combat but have some experience flying the 15 and just started with the F86.

Yeah, so far I've been flying the MiG-15 and Sabre and have been looking for some more organized stuff.

I mostly fly the MiG-15 and F-86. I'm not qualified to be a squadron leader but would be glad to join in an opfor as a MiG pilot if you get something going, or do some training or joint stuff. Just let me know.

I keep having a weird problem where my view will get stuck at the center view and if I try to pan using my joystick hat, or the mouse, it just snaps back right to the front view again. I can't find anything in the controls that seems to describe this as a feature or how to turn it off. What am I missing here?

I keep having constant graphics black screen/driver recoveries at random times while on DCS. Sometimes it also freezes and crashes DCS and gives me a "DCS has stopped working" error message. Other times not. The times seem random, and it doesn't happen in any other game. I'm on an i5 processor, 16 gigs of ram, SSD, Geforce GTX 660 and other than the crashes I can easily run DCS at high settings with no framerate issues or GPU overheating. I've tried monitoring memory and GPU use and both seem fine until the crashes. Changing to different geforce driver versions, reinstalling DCS, deleting savegame folders, running as administrator all have had no effect. At his point I'm at my wits end as nothing seems to explain why DCS refuses to work. I'd love to use this Mig-15 I purchased as it's beautiful, but it's painful to spend a half hour getting airborne and on a mission only to crash.
