Na sicher sagen die mir was. Die gute alte Zeit, ich Schüler, Zeit ohne Ende und einen Freund mit gleichen Interessen. Die genannten Programme waren natürlich mit im Repertoire, dazu natürlich F-19 Stealth Fighter (bestellt bei Joysoft mit Expresslieferung, kam noch vor der Schule an, Ärger das, das Absitzen des Unterrichts war die Hölle). Flight of the Intruder und F-16 Combat Pilot habe ich auch gerne geflogen. Der Dichte an Flight Sims war damals noch größer. Heute ist sie dafür deutlich tiefer. Alles zu seiner Zeit, aber die Erinnerungen möchte ich auf keinen Fall missen

Es ist erfrischend zu lesen, dass man nicht alleine damit steht. Ich bin mittlerweile 51 Jahre jung und fliege seit dem C-64, als meine Mutter mir in Hameln in einem kleinen Computerladen Gunship kaufte. Den Apache flog ich damals noch mit einem Quickshot II. Ich denke das war der Anfang meiner virtuellen Fliegerkarriere, die mich bis heute nicht wieder loslassen sollte. Es folgten Amiga und schließlich der erste PC, natürlich gedacht fürs Studium Da man die vorherigen Home Computer nicht großartig upgraden konnte, fing also auch da das Herumbasteln an, mehr RAM, neue Graka, neuer Prozessor....Moment...der passt ja nicht mehr aufs Board....also neues Motherboard....Moment....da passt ja der RAM auch nicht mehr drauf....also wieder neuen RAM etc. pp. Natürlich waren die Mittel im Studium noch sehr beschränkt. Aber ich habe so einiges damit geflogen, genannt sei die Jane´s Reihe, USNF, EF-2000 und passend zum Ende des Studiums 1998 die noch heute bekannte Sim der Viper. Zu dem Zeitpunkt besaß ich bereits den F-16 FLCS und F-16 TQS von Thrustmaster, die dafür echt sehr gut geeignet waren, jedoch später wegen dem fehlenden Gameport einem HOTAS Cougar weichen mussten. Ich schwor mir, dass ich, wenn ich mal eigenes Geld verdiene, nicht mehr an der Hardware spare, um Flugsimulationen mit höchsten Details fliegen zu können. Somit habe ich immer weiter aufgerüstet, um dann festzustellen, dass ich gar nicht mehr die Zeit habe, alles so zu nutzen, wie ich es mir so vorgestellt habe. Doch ich war ja infiziert und entsprechend hielt es an, wobei etwas gebremst durch Hausbau, Kinder und nicht zuletzt meine Frau, die nicht immer ganz mit dem einverstanden war, was ich so gemacht habe. 2013 ist mir dann DCS World irgendwie untergekommen, ich hatte eine DVD der A-10 für 19,90 EUR erstanden. Ich würde sagen zwischen 2006 bis zu dem Zeitpunkt war es verhältnismäßig ruhig an der Hardwarefront. Aber die Hog hat mich gleich gepackt und ich bin kontinuierlich tiefer eingestiegen, habe dann 2015 den Schritt in Richtung Multiplayer gewagt. Ich habe verhältnismäßig wenig Module, da ich eher in die Tiefe, als in die Breite gehe, Zeit ist immernoch ein Faktor, Geld nicht mehr so sehr (natürlich sind die Diskussionen nach wie vor da, die Frau war immer die gleiche, die habe ich nicht upgegraded ). Dafür habe ich alle Maps, weil ich die Entwickler auch gerne unterstützen möchte. Klar habe ich auch Module, die ich mir gekauft, aber nicht wirklich genutzt habe, kennt jeder hier. Heute freuen sich meine beiden Söhne (18 und 12) darüber, wenn ich Hardware austausche, da sie dann immer durchgetauscht wird. Der Kleine fliegt sogar, hat dafür meinen Warthog bekommen. VR ist aktuell für mich kein Thema, entsprechend flüssig läuft DCS auf meinem Rechner. Aber, wer kennt das nicht, irgendwie juckt es einem immer zwischen den Fingern. Was kann ich noch machen? Was würde dir noch helfen oder Freude bringen. Und das ist es auch, die virtuelle Fliegerei bringt mir so viel Freude und ergänzt mein Leben derart, dass ich gerne gewillt bin, mein sauer verdientes Geld darin zu investieren. Es kamen hier schon die Beispiele von Auto- und Motorradenthusiasten. Ich glaube da ist dieses Hobby noch relativ kostengünstig im direkten Vergleich. Meine aktuelle Wishlist beinhaltet ein Upgrade von CPU, MoBo und RAM (der PC des Großen schafft Win 11 nicht, entsprechend muss ich handeln ). Der Samsung 57" lächelt mich auch an, der steht schon seit 1 Jahr auf meiner Wunschliste, aber ist mir noch zu teuer. Ruderpedale täten es auch mal ein paar neue. Also noch genug Futter für die nächsten Jahre. Ach ja, der 57" mach 2x 4K Auflösung, ob die 4080 das noch schafft? Es hört nie auf, nieeeee Sorry, dass ich diesen thread mal mit meinem FluSi Leben geentert habe, aber hier scheinen viele Gleichgesinnte unterwegs zu sein. Ich bin also nicht der einzig Verrückte, für den meine Frau mich hält

I own the Orion 2 with the F-15EX grips and believe this is usable in a good way for a lot of planes because of the amount of switches and knobs. Coming from the Warthog I find this superior. I don´t know the Winwing bases, have the Virpil CM3 one, which is definitely better than the Warthog base. Combined with the A-10C/F-16C Thrustmaster stick this is the perfect combo for me. So generally I would put Virpil into the account as well, the throttle is good based on posts I read. The Orion 2 is more flexible in regards to grips. Desk mount wise have a look for monstertech, they have very good desk mounts.

The F-15E is still available in the store, so I guess actually there is still hope.

Thanks for sharing, even though this wonders me. I had some strange experience with an Nvidia GPU and the onboard Intel graphics. It worked for a time but with an Intel driver update I had similar experience like described in the first post in this thread. In the meantime I switched to a 49" display, have less fisheye at the edges because of the lower resolution and still run my 3 small displays via the TH2G from Matrix. I wonder if it still rund under Windows 11.....

I got some bad experience in FPS when I mixed a 1080TI with a GT1030 some years ago. Everything worked like you need it but my FPS seemed to be bottlenecked. Finally I was able to figure out that the GT1030 somewhat put a brake into DCS and the jump was from 36 FPS to 53 FPS simply by removing the GT 1030. I had a triple display configuration and 3 additional displays for the MFCDs. Respectively I needed even 6 outputs. I switched to a Matrox Triplehead2Go where I connected the 3 small displays and then you connect the Matrox TH2G with a single cable. The 3 displays will be seen as 1 in Windows. I will link to an old thread from me: Link I have a Matrox TH2G Digital SE with 3 DVI for the displays and 1 DP for the Graphic card. I handle this with adapters as the small displays are HDMI. There are othr versions of the Matrox, you need to google it a little to find the options.

I´m not sure if it is an issue if DCS uses all RAM or VRAM available. I have the components mentioned in my signature and even the 16 GB of the 4080 are maxed out without having issues with stuttering. Based on my experience DCS tends to take what it gets, especially the VRAM. The 49% of CPU usage is not very specific. The 8700K has 6 cores and it could be that 3 cores have a load of 100% and the rest 0% which gives an average of 50%. This can also been spread over more cores with less load coming to the same result. I guess you know what I mean. 64 GB of RAM are a good thing on busy servers on RAM demanding maps like Syria. In single player 32 GB should still be OK. Running max. settings is not a matter of the amount of RAM or VRAM only. A slow card with a lot of VRAM does not necessarily end up in the possibility to run max settings. A good rule of thumb is if the GPU has a load of 100%, the CPU is the bottleneck. If is running with lower load, the GPU is the bottleneck. Watching the usage of RAM and VRAM and also the GPU/CPU usage gives you a good indication on where you stand. Playing around with the settings in DCS can give you a good and playable state like yours. Conclusion: It is always worth to spend time into playing around with settings etc. to get the best out of DCS. Even with my system I did not max out everything completely. Be careful, this can make you addicted in updating your hardware. I know what I´m talking about

Wow, this is a tricky topic as the case is very small. I found this graphic card, which could be an option. Link to low profile GPU If you put additional 16 GB of RAM into it you should be OK running DCS with low to medium settings. I hope this helps. Hi, I did not have issues like you with the reversed throttle, but can remember I had issues with the firmware upgrade. I read somewhere that it is wise to use an older USB 2.0 port. Additionally maybe this link helps you, I got mine solved by following the description for the bootloader method. Bootloader Method TM This is directly from Thrustmaster so this should not create too much risk. I hope this helps, let us know please. Edit: In the link mentioned in the manual I guess you need to download the package driver which includes the firmware.

Hi, I also had play some time ago and believe it is a loose screw inside of the stick. This is how I fixed it. Open the stick, tighten the screw and the play was gone. Might be a different problem but just wanted to add my experience.

Das Problem mit dem HDG CSEL hatte ich auch, ich glaube die Eingaben sind zu klein, um was zu bewegen. Ich habe es selbst nicht hinbekommen und nutze weiter mein Stream Deck dafür. Vermutlich ist die Lösung ganz einfach über die Software zu lösen. Sollte ich da was finden, poste ich es.

Vielen Dank für das Feedback und schön, dass sich für dich die Inverstition gelohnt hat. Ich hatte mit dem Ministick am F-15EX Throttle Grip ebenfalls das irgendwo o. g. Problem, dass ich Eingaben hatte, die ich nicht gemacht habe. Es schien, als wenn der Ministick nicht ganz in die 0 Position zurückging. Nach Kontaktieren des WW Supports musste ich ebenfalls herausfinden, dass dort nur über die Software die Dead Zone angepasst werden konnte. Da gibt es Haken bei Default, damit war das Problem gar nicht da, aber die Dead Zone spürbar, da keine unmittelbare Reaktion auf den MFDs zu sehen war. Deswegen hatte ich die Haken anscheinend mal rausgenommen und manuell auf 1% gestellt. Default scheint 5% zu entsprechen (Internetrecherche), ich habe mich dann manuell herangetastet und bin bei 3,5% nun ohne Fremdeingabe. Man könnte meinen, dass ein Ministick ohne Totzone nur sensibler reagiert, aber trotzdem ganz auf 0 zurückgeht. Hier ist es aber anders und jetzt nicht wirklich ein Problem. Ich schreibe das, weil ich denke, dass dir das vielleicht hilft, wenn du in ein ähnliches Phänomen rennst. Ansonsten bin ich mit dem Orion 2 Throttle sehr zufrieden, qualitativ sehr hochwertig. Sollte einer der beiden Throttles dir das Gefühl geben, dass er ein leichtes Spiel hat, melde dich gerne wieder bei mir, das habe ich auch gelöst.
