I just copied my config folder from 1.2 OB to 1.5 after the update. Only problem I have is the throttle axis for MIG21 is red and unassignable. Lets get organised for a l39-c co-op flight

Hi Fish, just getting back into the A10-C, fancy giving me a refresher on inputting co-ordinates to CDU. I seem to be missing a step, probably mixing up my isk buttons

PT3 We offset right. But a little to the right is not enough. If we put the BP needle on our 12oclock, we will get to the destination WP, but never again intercept the desired course. For that we have to offset further, say 30 more (rotating the compass and CI needle left, anticlockwise). Now our heading might be 030, and both needles are to the left of 12oclock, with the CI needle being further away. THATS WHAT I MEAN BY TURNING AWAY FRO THE CDI to intercept the desired course.

What then happens is as we travel in that direction, the BP needle, moves slowly to the left, and gets closer to the CI needle ( always @360 on the compass for this leg). Once it hits this point, were now on the correct course, and its a matter of pointing the aircaraft towards the bearing pioint needle.Hope this helps (makes sense to sketch it out if your still unclear).

PT2 Now we turn back to a bearing of 360, and take a snapshot. Remember we are now left of the desired course. The compass points to 360, and the CI needle also is on 360. All good. But the BP needle now points to the right a bit, since the target waypoint is now a little towards our right. So.... What do we do now to get back on course.
    goto pt 3

Pt1 timeforaction, sorry for delay replying. Not round here much lately.

As some one on youtube pointed out correctly, there's no real CDI, I just used this to help those who are familiar with how the West's instruments work. the Needle in the SU, is a 'course setting needle', and it gets set by the electroics. Between waypoints it is 'fixed' on the compass. Imagine your course is taking you from south to north, both needles (bearing point, BP, and course indicator, CI) will be fixed on the 360 bearing on the compass. Now you turn left a little to a heading of 330. the compass rolls right 30deg, along with the Course needle. At this point the BP needle (always pointing to our destination waypoint), still points to north. As time passes, the compass is the same, but we move further off course, so our BP, starts to push right as the waypoint starts to move to our right shoulder. So now were offset to the left of the course.....(goto pt2)

I really liked your video about navigation in the SU 25. Can you help me understand a bit?

To get onto the right course you should steer away from the CDI? By away, do you mean if the waypoint is to the left of the CDI, you should steer to the right of the CDI until the arrows coincide? and vice versa? So you never steer in between the CDI and the waypoint marker? Thanks if you have the time to answer. I feel a right dummy being a physicist and all!!!

Thank you for the all the great tutorials. As some one new to DCS: A-10C and flight sims in general you're helping me slay the learning curve.
