  1. Module status update 05/2021 Hello Mirage pilots, today we present you a module status-update for our Mirage 2000C. This update will present what changes are coming to the aircraft in future updates and future plans after that. In parallel to the module updates, a big update to the manual is in the works. It will be completely up to date with the last changes and contain more precise information on how the systems work. Here is an extract of the updated manual : M-2000C Manual INS extract.pdf Next updates In the last month, the team worked on fixing and improvi

  2. The Freya and Würzburg Radar Systems By Will Pearson On 18 December 1939, 24 RAF Vickers Wellington bombers launched a daylight attack on German supply ships operating out of Wilhelmshaven Kriegsmarine base. The objective was to prevent the tenders supporting U-boats in the North Atlantic. Unfortunately for the RAF, an enemy ‘Freya’ radar unit detected the formation at a range of 113km. For the time, this performance was extraordinary – and from a British point of view, it was extremely bad news. Named after Freyja, the Norse goddess of death and destruction who could see in

  5. Welcome to this first instruction video for our upcoming Mil-24P for DCS World, developed by Eagle Dynamics. Given the codename Hind F by NATO and called the Flying Tank by its aircrews, the Mil-24 is a backbone of the Russian attack helicopter force since the early 1970s, and it serves with many countries. The HIND was most notable for its operations in Afghanistan by Soviet forces. In addition to its primary role as an attack helicopter, the Hind also has a crew compartment for eight passengers. This functionality will come later in its development as part of a larger update to DCS Worl

Mirage 2000C 06/2021 Update presentation Hello Mirage pilots, the PCA/AG update is near, it will bring a lot of quality of life improvements, a new AG radar mode and two new bombs to the aircraft. Most of the changes will be on the PCA, the VTH in AG mode and the AG radar. PCA The PCA has been rewritten from scratch to fix all problems and improve realism. The most important changes are the ordinance displayed on the bottom row. The equipped stores stay even after they have been expended. Our work is focused on preparing the AH-64D Block II for Early Access release, based on a detailed design specification. These efforts are spread across all areas of module development, including art, systems, flight dynamics, AI, and more. Thank you for your passion and support. The MiG-23 serious art development started at the end of 2019 (allowed by less art work needed in the MiG-19 by that date), which is the first step in the development of a DCS module, since coders need a more or less finished art asset to start their work. Work was going good as usual and the objective was to have a mostly finished art assets at the end of 2020. In the final months of 2020 and the first of 2021 I had to

Later in development once all the little details like fire tests, vibration tests, voltage tests, and so on are fully implemented, I’ll do a second “by the book” start up procedure video. In the meantime, this will get you up and flying at early access release. Please note that this video is based on a work-in-progress version and may differ from the early access release version. However, the core items should stay unchanged. In the video description n

We are back at full power on all fronts, and bug fixing is in full swing in the run up to delivering a Stable DCS World 2.7. We are also expanding our dedicated avionics division, tasked with accelerating our capabilities and speed of avionics development. A huge update for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet is in the works that should be released later in May. This will include new features such as the AGM-84H SLAM-ER, RAID Si

We would like to thank you for your continued support and detailed bug reports. Today, we are also introducing a new Free to Play program that lets you evaluate all of our modules (aircraft and maps) for 14 days. You can play each module sequentially for 14 days or any number of them at a time. Once you have ‘consumed’ the 14 days, you will be given another 14 day free trial period for all modules six months later. Enjoy

  21. On a semi-related note, I have reviewed all the stores drag data (primarily for AIM-9/AIM-7/AIM-54 and their launchers/adapters) and correlated it to drag index data in the performance manual. You can expect significantly reduced drag for all tunnel mounted missiles and slight drag reductions for shoulder mounted AIM-7s and AIM-9s when the FM update comes out. @Victory205and I are making good progress on tuning airframe drag primarily in the transonic and supersonic regions (the magnitude of deceleration is too small on power chops). Thrust re-tune comes next once we've decided on the drag cha

In fact, I think it should be taken one step up - when you lean forward with Track IR or VR, there should be the loud BRRRRRRT! as it collides with your helmet/headset. Back when I flew Twin Otters, this was an ever present threat (making contact with the little rubber fan blades, the fan in the Twotter was mounted just over your head. It came as quite a surprise sometimes!)

Hey everyone, We've essentially skipped this patch as we're working on a major update to the F-14 that will add a pretty significant chunk of new features and changes- including entirely new hook physics, Iceman additions for SP RIOs (Orbit, fly to WP, etc.), and other smaller new features such as catapult signaling using lights at night. We're just springboarding into that instead of trying to ship these piecemeal and without a proper test cycle. Thus we've not yet merged all of these changes in, so we've only shipped a few mission tweaks and the Chinese localization effort. Th

My aim was to provide you with a little toned-down image of the Caucasus, leaning towards realism and less cartoonish look. I hope I managed to achieve that and you will gladly return to this beatiful map in your DCS sorties. Opposite to the previous versions and probably other mods, CAUCASUS REDONE 2021 brings to you a new look of the winter season, with snowy mountains and scattered-snow flatlands.

  32. Today, June 2nd 2021, is the 75th Anniversary of the Italian Republic - and we thought there was not a better day to announce our second commercial project for DCS - since, in real life, it was one of the biggest successes of the Italian aerospace industry. DCS G.91 The G.91 is an Italian jet fighter aircraft of Cold War era designed and optimized for Strike and Recon missions. The G.91 originates in the NATO NBMR-1 competition in 1953, which sought a light fighter-bomber "Light Weight Strike Fighter" to be adopted as standard equipment across the air forces of the various member nations.

The idea that we're tuning the FM by hand-flying maneuvers while staring at the infobar for TAS (and then busting out a calculator to figure out TMN) is amusing. Ain't nobody got time for that. The FM is not off because we forgot about the infobar or have been using some erroneous source. The FM is not off because we're using a bad value for airspeed. We know exactly how fast we're going (assuming DCS output is correct) and we have much better ways of getting that info than staring at the infobar, hence the reason it's ign

Certain metrics of FM performance can be measured so I feel I have an obligation to match them (at least to what the manuals say, which is all extrapolated/estimated data anyway), a process which is ongoing. That being said, I have yet to see anyone on these forums provide definitive and quantitative proof of turn performance issues, besides just saying they think it's currently "wrong", without providing numbers along with proof of how those numbers were obtained. I'm not saying it's perfectly corre

Su-30MKK is an internal project for self-challenge, to create a reusable multi-crew framework(not fully done) and multi-language support avoinics(done but need tweak), 2. FM is 90% done if not 95%. Thanks to our FM guys, TVC is considered, so FM code may be ported to MKI, 3. We had read some docs, but lacking many sub system docs(in details), we cannot reach the basic DCS FF standard ATM, yes, it's started, more like a test bed of some ideas than a real project. To DCS FF standard? we need 2 more weeks(TM)!
