Thank you for your interest in our products. Please take a minute to read through the forum policies and procedures outlined below. Your registration on the forum assumes familiarity with and consent to all of the below regulations. Failure to comply with the regulations is subject to administrative actions as outlined in section 3 below.

Eagle Dynamics is not responsible for reliability of ANY posted information on Eagle Dynamics forums by non Eagle Dynamics staff.

1 FORUM RULES:

1.1 "Lock On" and "Digital Combat Simulator" are entertainment-line products and these forums are intended for a general audience. As such, it is strictly prohibited to post material considered inappropriate for minors or discriminating toward any individual or group, including:
- Profanity
- National, ethnic, racial, religious and sexual discrimination
- Postings violating laws and regulations

1.2 Forum members must treat each other with respect and tolerance.

1.3 Administrative actions against forum members are not subject to public discussion. If you feel an action against you was unjust or otherwise inappropriate, please use the Private Messaging (PM) system to appeal the action to other forum staff members or the forum administrator.

1.4 Posts/threads that undermine the actions of the forum staff, such as opening threads that are redundant, disruptive or deal with topics that have been previously locked, will result in administrative actions against the user.

1.5 Any and all Off Topic posts will be deleted without notice. Posts should be on topic based on the thread title, and threads should on topic based on the Forum section they are posted in. Posts that are attempts to hijack, troll, or ask questions that have been answered already will also be considered OT and removed. Repeat offenders may receive warnings.

1.6 Disputes or concerns from Multiplayer servers, unofficial Discord servers, DCS Groups, Fan social media sites, virtual squadrons or anything else outside of official ED sites should not be discussed/argued here. If you have concerns that you feel need to be raised with Eagle Dynamics, please send a Private Message to the appropriate ED Staff member.

1.7 No political, social or cultural disputes on the ED forums.

1.8 Material and links to material that includes copyrighted content or information on and/or promotes software piracy is strictly prohibited.

1.9 Advertisement of any products or services without prior consent from the forum staff is strictly prohibited.

1.10 Product feedback and constructive criticism is encouraged when provided in a mature and courteous manner. However, feedback that is abusive, insulting or condescending is not welcome. Additionally, to bring up a particular issue repeatedly after it has already been acknowledged will be considered "trolling" - in such cases a warning will be issued to the author and the post will be removed.

1.11 Multiple user accounts and proxy accounts are not allowed on this forum. Any such account will be removed.

1.12 Threads and posts pertaining to the selling or trading of "DCS" keys are not allowed.

1.13 No form of Doxing allowed on these forums. Doxing is sharing of information including but not limited to:

  • Home addresses
  • Workplace details
  • Personal phone numbers
  • Social security numbers
  • Bank account or credit card information
  • Private correspondence
  • Criminal history
  • Personal photos
  • Embarrassing personal details

Even if this information is readily available on other parts of the internet, it is not to be shared or discussed on any Eagle Dynamics forum or social media site unless the user in question has shared on their own. Violation of this rule will be an immediate 100-point violation, then we will investigate whether the intent was malicious or unintentional, if deemed malicious, it will be submitted to management for further review.

1.14 It's forbidden to create threads/topics containing in their title/body:

- hyperbolic, rude or strong language, also partially or completely masked by other symbols like @#$%^, etc;
- no relation to forum section (flame);
- no relation to the topic (off-topic);
- please avoid low-effort posts like "+1", "me too", and similar (flood);
- same information covered in other sections/threads/posts (cross-posting);
- over 70% of capital letters for except for abbreviations;
- non-informative content/titles like: "Help me!", "I have a question...", "rant", "I don't know what to do", "+=Super Pack=+" or meaningless set of symbols and letters.

Titles or posts that break this rule will be subject to change or deletion of the thread/post. Repeated offences can result in warnings.

1.15 Discussions of other game companies products are not recommended as they can create personal friction with users who enjoy such products and potentially create issues with competitve manufacturers which is not helpful. We do not allow the reviewing of, or direct comparison of other competitive software here. Posting news updates or advertising other products or games is also forbidden (unless approved by an admin). Abuse of other companies and/or anyone related to those companies will not be tolerated. ED also reserves the right to remove any thread or post about another game or company it deems doesn't comply with this rule.

1.16 Posting of screenshots, images, file links, file sharing links, and copying and pasting information is prohibited if the source document has a limited distribution statement or it is classified. Limited distribution includes DoD Distribution Statement C, Distribution Statement D, Distribution Statement E, Arms Export Control Act, Export Administration Act, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controlled sources. When posting aircraft, sensor, or weapon information more recent than 1980, you must also include the source of the document that demonstrates that it is 100% public and verified as not from a limited distribution source as listed.

The punishment: 

First offence will result in the removal of the material and 50 warning points for 1 year, second offence will result in the material being removed and 100 warning points for 1 year.

2 SIGNATURE AND AVATAR RULES:

2.1 Signatures may include images and/or text. If using images, use the Control Panel to upload the image to the forum for hosting and make sure it does not exceed the stated limitations of 500x100x20KB. There is no linking to 3'rd party servers for signature image hosting.

2.2 Use the Control Panel to upload an avatar to the forum for hosting and make sure it does not exceed the stated limitations of 80x80x20KB. There is no linking to 3'rd party servers for avatar image hosting.

2.3 Maximum signature height is 6 text lines. Take 20 px height of a picture as one text line. So a signature with 100 px height picture can have one text line below or above the picture.

2.4 Empty lines are forbidden in signature.

3 ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION:

3.1 Forum staff based on currently written regulations and in case of their violations has imminent rights to: move, edit or delete user threads/posts; temporarily or permanently ban violators by any technically available means.

3.2 Administrative action refers to the system of warnings and bans utilized on this forum as disciplinary actions against members in violation of the above rules. A Warning Bar is used to track the members' warning level. The warning level and duration for any single violation is at the discretion of the forum staff, but are generally based on the severity and number of prior violations. Upon reaching 100%, a user is subject to a temporary ban, the duration for which is likewise at the discretion of the forum staff.

3.3 Any attempts to circumvent a temporary ban (including the creation of a new forum account, using alternate IP addresses, etc.) will result in an immediate permanent ban.

3.4 In severe cases, such as personal threats to the health and well being of a forum member or staff or endorsement and promotion of product piracy, a permanent ban will be issued immediately.

4 GENERAL GUIDELINES:

4.1 Become familiar with the User Control Panel, where you can tailor many of the forum viewing options.

4.2 Before creating a new thread, use the Search function to check if the subject has already been covered. Typically, better search results can be achieved via the Advanced Search function.

4.3 (removed).

4.4 When creating new threads, be specific in their title.

4.5 General use of "normal writing" practices is expected, including grammar and punctuation rules. Extensive use of capital letters, symbols, emoticons and non-standard text size, font and color is discouraged.

5 SOLVING SIMULATOR ISSUES:

- Make sure you have the latest simulator version installed.
- Proceed with "Search" function - probably your issue has already been discussed.
- In difficult cases that are not described in the simulator documentation, please read the FAQ and contact technical support
