ouky1991
I've recently bought a new PC and was a bit disapointed with the channel performance. Can't get stable 60fps / 1080p in urban areas with RTX 3080 + i5 10600K + 32GB RAM + M.2 SSD. (note it's in Ka-50 which is more fps heavier than WWII birds). Flat shadows help to keep it at least between 50-60. I'm considdering buying Syria map, but I hear some complaints on optimisation. So how bad is it? Do you get better or worse FPS with the same settings, compared to the Channel?
fargo007
I don't have channel but I do have Syria and fly only helos 99% of the time. I've got options turned on that I have simply never used on other maps. IOW - it's performing very very well for me. AMD Ryzen 5, 1080ti, 32GRAM, HP Reverb/WMR. Have fun. Don't suck. Kill bad guys. https://discord.gg/blacksharkden/
lwalter
On my configuration, with exact same graphical settings, I get much better performance on Syria overall (between 20 to 40 additional fps) and this is even when flying low-level over large cities like Damascus or Beirut, which have no equivalent in the Channel map. Channel is basically unflyable for me, besides over the Channel water itself and sometimes over empty fields. iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets

Glide
Keep working on the settings. I get a rock solid 60 fps on Syria with these settings. Thanks to Taz for pointing out that SSAA should be off. Lighting improves considerably now. Edited November 29, 2020 by glide
