    DCS Syria Map on google.maps

    Request for Comment:

With the .png map found, Wags's list of airports (thanks Wags ) and a lot of google, I put all the airports on a google map (https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?m...D9&usp=sharing)

Please feedback to me any mistakes, oversights or else

Maybe there is some pilots out there (like me) loving to explore the aerea - navigate and visit all airports. Fantastic map from what I have seen - Thanks Ugra Media - youre artists!

    Have fun and start planning

Akrotiri airbase in Cyprus was already confirmed, though I believe won't be there initially.

        Hey this is great.
By my research for airfield diagrams I think Taftanaz AB is actually a Heliport.

I also have been exploring the area a bit on google earth, I stumbled upon an SU-57 parked at Al-Assad airport, from 22/3/2018. Interesting stuff...

            Wow! Nice find
Also did some Google Earth-ing on Syria, but hadn't found this one.

Seems to be some kind of fence around it to keep unwanted viewers away. Good thing we have satellites

Oh, and welcome to the forum mate. Looks though like you've been lurking here for a while now

shu77 you are right - (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taftanaz_Military_Airbase "Taftanaz was a home to two squadrons of Mil-8/17 Hip helicopters") - I applied the change

Maybe we get a short runway - like 800 m - just for fun

Looks like it has 2 small runways, my view is it would be like this one in Australia: https://www.airservicesaustralia.com..._13AUG2020.pdf
The runways arent neccersarily compliant but designed to give helicopters something to line up on for departure.
