key bindings with rotary decoder

unknown

Recommended Posts

If i bind the functions:

- Weapon selector turn clockwise

- Weapon selector turn counterclockwise

- Radar MKR Gain increase

- Radar MKR Gain decrease

to my rotary decoders on my throttle they get recognised in the controles menu but not in game. If i bind buttons to these functions all works fine. Strange is that if i bind the functions:

- Mode select - turn clockwise

- Mode select - turn counterclockwise

to the same rotary decoders they get recognised in the controles menu and in game.

I know that this worked at some point flawlessly for me in the Viggen(using OB, it workes in other modules).

Any update/news on this?

@SGT Coyle

I was not often at the forums the last 2 months, missed your post. Before the Forum software update i had all my system/controllers in my sig, but it seems that isn't working anymore(EDIT: i found the setting to see them again). I use the a Virpil Stick/throttle hotas and the decoders work for every key binding in every other module.

It could be a Keyboard Rate issue. The encoders are pressing and releasing the keys to fast. I've seen that with some button presses on the Hornet a few updates back, but it's fixed now. Are you using any Virpil software to program keys or buttons. I use TARGET with my Warthog and I can set a custom "KB Rate". I had to do that to fix the a fore mentioned Hornet issue.

I already tried different settings for the decoders but none worked. The strange thing is, like said in the first posting, that the binding for:

- Mode select - turn clockwise

- Mode select - turn counterclockwise

works on all of my 3 encoders of my throttle. If i try to assign Weapon selector turn clockwise/Weapon selector turn counterclockwise or Radar MKR Gain increase/Radar MKR Gain decrease to any of my 3 encoders none is working. I use all 3 encoders in other modules(F/A-18 for example) and never had trouble there with them and i remember that it worked at some point in the past for the Viggen too. My novice "solution" to this problem would be just to copy/paste the implementation of the Mode select cw/ccw function to the other two.
