    Tree shadows

Hello, is there a way how through the config files I can turn off tree shadows? Everything is fine, game runs on maximal details, but tree shadows visibly kills my frames. Is there a way how to keep cockpit shadows and turn off only trees?

Try setting terrain shadows to flat.

Sorry sobek, when I turn shadows flat its still droping, when shadows are off its ok.

I had this problem before 1.5. but when I turned tree shadows off it was ok and I could play even with maximal shadow settings. Now on/off box for tree shadows missing and thats my problem

Forests without shadows for FPS gain, extract all files to

              C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase\Structures\High\EDM

              https://www.dropbox.com/s/rempmjkvol...0EDGE.rar?dl=0

(info edited for 1.5.3 + file structure change)

EDIT: DO NOT USE WITH 1.5.5!

I would also like to know if setting the "Flat Terrain Shadows" to ON actually enables something visually or is reducing the graphics quality of terrain shadows.

I mean the setting in System > Graphics, on the right: FLAT TERRAIN SHADOWS with options ON and OFF

I'll try this. Everything runs very smooth except for forests.

I have flown a little with it set to on, can't say I notice any difference in the graphics or performance... maybe I am not as perceptive though as I used to be also.

Flat shadows = slightly worse graphics, much improved performance.

Gozr, the shadows on terrain (by opposition to shadows on aircraft, or in cockpit) are flat.

I followed these instructions and didn't notice a difference. Trees still have shadows.

Performance is really nice with 1.5 except for trees. For now I just reduced their draw distance to the minimum.
