Single Rocketpod always on BRU-Rack and assymmetric?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I wonder if a Rocketpod simply can't be placed directly on a Pylon.

It doesn't matter if I take the 7x or the 19x pods, they always comes with a BRU-rack.

Also it's always assymmetric.

If I put 1 Rocketpod (with rack) each on station 3 and 7 both pods are placed on the right side (or left, doesn't remember rn).

Last thing doesn't look right to me.

And I wonder if the Navy got caps for their pods?

Yeah that always struck me as odd, we'll see if anybody chimes in. I would've thought the Hornet pylons could accept single rocket pods without being mounted on a rack like any other aircraft.

AFAIK BRU-33 is always required for rocket pods on the hornet. Don’t know if they can load them on either side of the rack for singles on both Wings to make it symmetrical. That’s probably not a used load out though If you wanted two pods they would just go on the same rack to save work for the ordies.

There is an adapter needed for the rocket pod that only mates to the bru33. And if you are only putting 1 pod on the station it goes on the right side because that is how the logic was writing for firing sequence.

You mean the left side?

I wasn't able to find anything definitively stated in LWS-000 about which side should be loaded with a single launcher.

U.S. and RMAF examples attached showing single LAUs loaded on the right-hand side, but on D models. Wired differently perhaps?

Page 4-3 figure 4-1 shows firing sequence which always has the pod on the right side fired first from all bru33's carrying pods before firing the pod on the left side.

depends if im sitting in the cockpit or staring at it from the nose:bye_2:

No it doesn't,

Left and Right sides of a plane do not depend on where are you looking from, they are always referenced as if you were sitting in the cockpit, same goes for ships or cars. That way no one can get confused:P
