HSD is available but missing a cursor which would be a really nice quality of life improvement.

There are also a lot of things not on the roadmap which should be implemented like mark points and all of the DED pages.

Yep, Crptalk's post is pretty much where it's at.

It's flyable (FM WIP) and can do limited combat sorties (Combat and navigation systems WIP, damage model WIP).

It can fire AMRAAMs and sidewinders in BVR and WVR and even with half the systems and most of the switchology missing or WIP, it's pretty good at it.

It can also deliver a variety of dumb munitions, laser guided bombs and mavericks, all of which are heavily WIP, missing various systems.

Your mileage may vary as they say.

The FCR format (page) provides radar video, controls, and status as a function of one of the following FCR modes:
    Air-to-Air Modes WIP?
  • RWS A/A Cursor bullseye -DLZ AIM120 . AIM 9M/X WIP
  • TWS A/A radar mode cursor bullseye -DLZ AIM120 . AIM 9M/X WIP

o Range-While-Search (RWS) available (Symbols and format) WIP

    o 60: 10 x 60° available
  • Standby Override Select/Deselect (OSB 4)WIP?
“OVRD” selects FCR standby page. WIP?
  • Spotlight Search WIP?
Spotlight search provides hands on temporary switching to a 4 bar ±10° scan pattern, increasing opportunity for target detection in RWS and TWS.
Depressing and holding TMS Up for longer than 1 second will command the radar to spotlight search. The scan is centred about the acquisition (ACQ) cursor and elevation (ANT ELEV) wheel setting and can be slewed. When slewing the ACQ cursor, the spotlight scan pattern will remain centred in azimuth on the ACQ cursor. The scan coverage reverts to the previous pattern when TMS is released, unless a target is beneath the ACQ cursor, at which time the radar will attempt to acquire and track the target. Spotlight search is not available in RWS EXP.
Spotlight scan in TWS is similar to spotlight scan in RWS. The TWS spotlight search volume is initially centred about the ACQ cursor. The spotlight search volume is not biased by the TWS track files, but is controlled through the use of the ACQ cursor and the ANT ELEV thumbwheel. In other words, the pilot can override the TWS bug priority in azimuth and elevation. Spotlighting outside the TWS priority scan volume will help establish track files on groups outside the previous TWS scan volume. Track updates on the target of interest (TOI) and targets with AIM-120 missiles in flight will only occur if the spotlight scan volume includes these targets.

Glad I purchased it during the pre purchase, when it was discounted. Have logged 12:xx hours in it so far, don't see any more being logged anytime soon. It's fun to fly, very far from complete and while I'm sure it will get to complete status - I'm banking on it being quite sometime. It's nice to learn systems in groups, as it can be easier for some to learn that way. I'm more capable in the Hornet, compared to the Viper - because I've logged literally a couple hundred more hours in the Hornet (428:xx hours as of today with two logbook resets in there) compared to the Viper. A10C driver originally, so since the "II" has come out, neither 18 or the 16 will be getting any seat time until some serious steps have been made in the status of their build versions.

That being said, the Viper rips - is lethal as it is and in my opinion is a completely different type of bird in comparison with the Hornet. If I wanted to do a mix of AA and AG, Hornet. If I wanted to just do AA, Viper. My .02

Cheers,
