Persian Gulf 1985-4 is a 22 vs 18 PVP event. The event takes inspiration from the Iraq-Iran conflict in the 80's, where Iraqi MiGs faced Iranian american-made aircraft. The mission is set up to be asymmetrical to simulate the non-balanced nature of a real conflict. This is the fourth edition of this event series.

 

The coalitions will be

 

BLUE: 6 x F-14, 8 x F-5 and 4 x Su-25A*

 

RED: 6 x MiG-29A, 2 x M2000C**, 10 x MiG-21 and 4 x Su-25A

 

*Iran didn't fly Su-25s until after the war.

** Iraq flew Mirage F1s. The M2k simulates this.

 

Red will have numerical advantage in both aircraft and missiles while Blue holds the equipment advantage. Who will win?

Signup:

The event is open for everyone. Sign up for yourself or for your squadron, either way works. You must include the names of the pilots (and RIOs), how many slots you want and of what type. Slots will be assigned on a first-come first-server basis.

Rules and Restrictions:

- The event will run for 2 hours.

- 2 Life per pilot.

- Available aircraft: F-14, F-5, MiG-29A, MiG-21, M2000C, Su-25A

- F-14 Human RIO only (No Jester).

- EWR will be available for both sides.

- Human GCI (CA) will be available for both sides. The teams can have two GCIs each.

- Ping limit 300 ms

 

 The following weapon restrictions will be in effect:

The Fulcrum and F-14 will have fixed A2A payloads

F-14: 54Amk47 x4 , 9L x4, NO TANKS

MiG-29A: R-27R x 2 , R-60M x 4, 1500L x 1

The Su-25A, M2000C, MiG-21 and F-5 will be unrestricted (except for nukes)

 

Scoring points:

 

- Aircraft killed +100 pts

- Aircraft Lost (Crash or SAM) -100 pts

- Team Kill -200 pts

- Objective +500 (per target)

Briefing

 

Mission file: PG1985-4.miz

 

The mission is Kish (Red) vs Bandar Abbas (Blue). Both sides have targets to destroy and taking them out will give you a significant amount of points. In order for a objective to be counted, the following criteria need to be fulfilled.

 

IRAN Weapons facility: Destroy at least 15 buildings and the power plant.

IRAN Army group: Destroy at least 90% of the units in the target area.

 

IRAQ Forward command post: Destroy the Command post, fuel tanks and helicopter.

IRAQ Army group: Destroy at least 90% of the units in the target area.

 

Also note that this 4th installment featrues more air defences so each sides needs to account for the SAM situation.

 



 

 



 



 



 



 

 



 

Skin suggestion :)

 

The F-5 and MiG-21 both have proper default skins. The Su-25A has an Iranian skin but not Iraqi. So I suggest downloading the following skins to add some flavor to the event.

*I can't find a fictional Iraqi skin for the SU-25A, so this syrian one is the next best alternative. Recommend it as a substitute.
