Small Training Cursor (for VR)

I made this for myself and wasn't going to share since people usually do training mission just once. But I figured there may be someone who might find it useful because I hated training missions in VR because of this.

 

 

Download: Small Training Cursor

 

Install: Extract to main DCS install or use OvGME.

Thanks! Might be useful in 2D as well, as I "always" have to zoom in because of the overlapping. I run training missions several times.

You are absolutely slaying it with all of the little "quality of life" mods Taz!

 

If only the maps and more aspects of the sim weren't so locked off or encrypted. There's a lot of potential for what the mod community could do to tide us over until the promised major overhauls happen.

Removing the tiny 1000 cuts one at the time, will eventually make everything far better.

 

Don't know what was the last time when I used some training and I was just staring the boxes and clicking something inside it just to find out that what it was suppose to point at!

Any pointers on what file is the VR (and 2d) mouse cursor files? They're more than needed and break immersion for me.

Hi @Taz1004,

Im using this mod from years and it works still in current OB. 

A small note though. Since 2.8, when the lighting changed in DCS, the cursor is quite faded compared to the original version. Sometimes this makes it really hard to find his location in the sunny day.

Do you plan to adapt it to the current OB? It's about the color scheme, mainly to make the yellow color intensely noticeable, just like in the original version. It can also be a little bigger, I also think that in the old version of DCS it was bigger and had different size. Thanks!

I forgot I made this.  Wasn't this for 2.5?  I thought ED fixed it in 2.8 or 2.7?  I haven't done a training mission for a while so I'm not sure.

I injured my finger so I can't play DCS so I'll take a look after I get better.

Honestly Im using this from always and it is active all the time in my profile mod. Hmmm, I never noticed that it was solved by ED, I’ll try how default cursor looks now.

I checked default, its better than before, right! However too big still according me but I think this your old mod is too small in current version of DCS so I will stay with default one. Thanks!
