There is however no corresponding crashlog in the saved games/dcs/log folder.

I also did a repair of VBruntime and DirectX when installing.

EDIT: mission was the 1-1-0 in the push-CA campaign

Default Same thing with me.

I'll get a few minutes into the campaign and it will crash. Ran all other versions fine and have played Instant Action with no problems. This is really not cool.

I'm getting the exact same error in my Windows crash log(s). I can play the single missions and/or self-created missions just fine. However when I start up the campaign mission 1-1-0 and fly around for about 5-10mins, I get a crash.

Each time I crash, the root cause points to either the "WorldGeneral.dll" or the "Effects.dll" as being the culprit (WorldGeneral.dll being the worst offender). One of these files will either bring me back to the game's main menu or it will crash to desktop entirely. I'm no computer wiz, but it looks to me as if these files are not playing nice with the A-10C module in DCS World 1.2.1

NOTE: my computer specs are different from the OP's but the problem is exactly the same. I can post my specs, but it seems that in this case the game files are the reason and not the individual's computer build... but what do I know?

I'm getting more or less the same problem as above.

How many missions are in the Campaign, compared to in the single missions folder? It might just save my sanity and just play them.
