leafer
Can only buy just one at the moment, so I was wondering what should I get first to get the most out of those two programs and Photoshop. I'm thinking of either i5 760 or 8 GB more memory or some Nvidia card. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Pilotasso
Thats a tough call. 3DSMAX uses lots of everything. Not sure if your mobo can deal with 2000 series of sandy bridge CPU's, if it does then the I5-2500K would be your best choice. asparagin
For 3ds max, changing to nvidia (CUDA advantages for Iray and nitrous display) would make sense only if you use the 2012 version. A CPU (and mobo apparently) upgrade is good for everything. Pilotasso
yeah. it would be worth it if you could squeeze in the cheapest P67 board you could find. leafer
Oh boy...I just bought this board a year ago. Anything decent on AMD side? asparagin, what did you mean 2012 version? ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
asparagin
3ds max 2012. It takes advantage of nvidia cards, for the new render engine iray and for the nitrous viewport. ..but it's not really a must.. EtherealN
Well, assuming 3Ds Max can take advantage of a quad-core system, the i5 760 would be pretty much a doubling of the useable resources at 3ds disposal compared to the i3. So if on a budget, that is still a very good choice.
