Operation Pluto (MP Mission)

Recommended Posts

Latest Version 1.1 or 1.1S for Servman

This mission takes after my Operation Saturn mission. It uses the same system setup, but from a different part of the map and different task.

Operation Pluto V1.1:

Situation

Last week we have taken Krasnodar and the adjacent airfield. We are now conducting Operation Pluto. The area to the west, east and south of Krasnodar are hostile. Your A10s will soften the area for our ground forces. You will also have some help from the 22nd fighter squadron and the 159th CAB. Let them kill the SAMs in the area before getting to deep into enemy territory.

This mission requires imputing coordinates in the cdu.

Plan

Your flight (Pontiac Flight) will take off and call JTAC Uzi. Type TASK or task in the chat to get tasking from UZI.

JTAC UZI TASKING

Type TASK into chat to get tasking from UZI. If you miss tasking, at anytime you can type TASK in chat to get the task.

After a task is complete, when you are ready for the next task type TASK in the chat.

Springfield (4 F16s) and Chevy (2 Appachies) will be doing SEAD to find SAMs and AAA in the area. We dont expect them to kill them all. Be careful and read note below. We also will have supply and reinforcement flights coming to the airfield through out the mission.

NOTE: (Please read to avoid frustration)

Populated areas on the map are known to have SAMs and AAA. Be very cautious around cities and towns. Flying low over any town or city might end your flight early.

Frequencies:

22nd FS -----------132.00

159th CAB-------- 118.00

Texaco --------------151 5X TCN

yeb 4 me too (i mean another misssion to test)

Its nice to have a 6 slot mission ... cause my Inetconnection is only sufficient for MAXIMUM 6 pilots:smartass:

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

There are two types of fighter pilots - those who have, and those who will execute a magnificent break turn towards a bug on the canopy . . . .

Hi

Really liked your previous mission.

Fired this one up this afternoon and could not get any tasking from UZI.

Seemed like script kicked in as I got the message but got no reply when typing task in chat.

I was just hosting the mission myself and not using serverman.

Thanks for the mission it looks nice with SEAD flights

Update

Well after some testing I realised it was my install or rather windows UAC that was interfering with the scripts.

Will give the mission a proper run tomorrow

Thanks

Hi there

We have just spent the last 4 hours flying this mission. And having heaps of fun with it.

The random missions scenario is great for people to join in progress.

Only a few problems we ran into.

The most major of which seem to be that the tanker does not like the cross wind. Or rather the AI pilot. It would make alot of course corrections nearly making AAR impossible.

Also we found the track that the tanker took it was to short between waypoints. But that could be connected to the first problem.

Was wondering if you could throw in a random SA11 or SA15 every now and then. As that would make us change tactics. Especially around high value targets like airfields.

Throws a bit more edge into it.

Thanks for this and your other awesome missions.

We had a ball.

Thanks

I will look into the tanker when I get back from vacation. I did work fine earlier but I then added dynamic weather and the winds were pretty high. Im guessing it messed up my tanker a bit. I can fix it when I get back

I was always debating putting in some other sams other then the IR sams around the cities. Like you said maybe a few of the task I could put a SA19, SA15 or SA6.

Hi mia. Played your mission tonight, it was really good we enjoyed it.

The feedback I would have is:

-Yep refuelling was very sporting. The tanker would pitch up and down and sometimes even flip over. It settled out in the end for me, luckily as I only had 1100 pounds left.

-Concur with some extra air defence to mix it up a bit on the airfields etc.

-I like the feature of having SAMS in the towns, it keeps people on their toes and makes people plan a little more.

-There are a few spelling mistakes in it. "Apaches" is one that I remember from the brief. There was another in the brief and a couple that came from the JTAC, I am sorry I cant remember them.

Thanks again!

Is there something I could change in the triggers that allows to get 2 taskings at once ? We're flying this mission sometimes with multiple pilots, and would be easier to split in 2 groups with different tasking.

I am sure there is a way Danny, but looking at it I couldnt figure out how to make it to that very easy.

Well, without using the parallel tasking system specifically built for things like that in chatIOlibv2 (which I never wrote down the instructions for... PM me if you want to know why), you could just set up two simultaneous tasking systems. Instead of asking for "tasking", you might have to say, "DARKSTAR, HAWG, REQUEST TASKING" if you were in Hawg flight, or "DARKSTAR, BOAR, REQUEST TASKING" if you were in boar flight. Now, just set up a series of tasks for one flight, and another series of tasks for the other flight. Of course, nothing would prevent someone from boar flight doing Hawg flight's tasking, but that wouldn't be that much of a problem.

A working, 1.1.0.9 version of this mission now exists (DO NOT EDIT IT IN THE MISSION EDITOR!):

http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=55294&stc=1&d=1313524237

A SERVER-SIDE ONLY MOD MUST BE INSTALLED TO RUN THIS MISSION!!:

"slmodbeta2" (NOTE: This is an update of the previous mod that was required to run the Operation Saturn I updated for 1109- the previous, older version should still work, but I would advise that if you have it installed, to update to this newer version, as subsequent missions will NOT be compatible).

INSTALLATION:

Modman Package:

http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=55303&stc=1&d=1313528591

OR

Manual installation instructions:

1) Download these two files:

http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=55295&stc=1&d=1313524237

http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=55296&stc=1&d=1313524237

2) Rename "server.lua" to "server_original.lua" in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Scripts\net (NOT C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Scripts!!!!). Next, just drop these two files into that same directory, C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Scripts\net. You're done.

PLEASE REPORT TO ME ANY SUSPECTED BUGS YOU THINK MIGHT BE CAUSED BY SLMODBETA2! That's why I'm calling it a "beta". With 2700 lines of Lua (true, my code is pretty heavily commented and I often put blank lines to help readability, but still...), there could still be some issues I have failed to iron out.

NOTE: Not yet compatible with Servman. I will create Servman compatibility once I have completed the guides on how to use this mod- which yes, I have begun working on them.

Thanks Speed for updating this:thumbup:

With no replacement in slmod (yet) for Druid's randomization script, I had to change the way the SAM groups were spawned. I haven't extensively tested that, but it should work... theoretically. You can view the mission in the mission editor, but if you save it, all the Lua function calls will revert back to "Message to All" rather than calling Lua functions. This is part of the annoying work-around/hack that we have to do to make custom Lua functions work in this patch. Please give us print() back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are there any more missions you could use modified?
