Loz
Just received my THIRD set of Cougar MFDs, as with the first two sets either of the MFDs just packed in working and amongst both sets there were some buttons that just took a second press to work or just failed. By getting this last set from a different supplier (Amazon UK/Amazon EU S.a.r.L.) I have discovered that they are Version 2 (Checking the label on one of the failed ones reveals that they were Version 1.) From intial inspection, not a lot looks different. Apart from the differing label, the perspex inserts have a protective film over them but the feel of the buttons, especially the rocker switches is a lot better. I just hope they last longer than the first two sets. i9 9900x at 5.1 Ghz // ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula EK Bloc // 64Gb Corsair Vengence 3600Mhz DDR4 Ram // Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Watercooled block//Samsung SM951 M2 x4 SSD // Windows 10 64 Bit //48inch LG48 @ 3840x2160 120Hz//Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ 3440 x 14440 144Hz // TM Warthog HOTAS (Ser. CBR9
I have two sets.. one I'm using and a spare. You got me to go checking my second set, which are V2 also. There had been reports of the first bunch having the problems you described, so it appears some type of change had been made. The set I have out of the box have been up and running from day one without any problem. The MFD's were hard to find in the States for awhile, so don't know if only V2's were the ones that finally made it here. That said... I'll wait for awhile on the Warthog.. Loz
Well for about 4 hours these Version 2 have been fine. But what a pain. I think UPS have memorised the route to my house by now. i9 9900x at 5.1 Ghz // ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula EK Bloc // 64Gb Corsair Vengence 3600Mhz DDR4 Ram // Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Watercooled block//Samsung SM951 M2 x4 SSD // Windows 10 64 Bit //48inch LG48 @ 3840x2160 120Hz//Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ 3440 x 14440 144Hz // TM Warthog HOTAS (Ser. Loz
You pair make me laugh. Do you think they should break when they are pressed no matter how hard. Look on the base of yours I'd bet they are the Version 2's with which there doesn't seem to be a problem. i9 9900x at 5.1 Ghz // ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula EK Bloc // 64Gb Corsair Vengence 3600Mhz DDR4 Ram // Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Watercooled block//Samsung SM951 M2 x4 SSD // Windows 10 64 Bit //48inch LG48 @ 3840x2160 120Hz//Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ 3440 x 14440 144Hz // TM Warthog HOTAS (Ser. CBR9
There were reports of the first release of the MFD's failing. Lights not functioning and dead keys. Some sort of change must have been made to justify a V2 release. Anyone have any info on what was changed?
Slammin
Mine are V2. I have them plugged into the USB ports on my monitor. They disconnect at ramdom, but reconnect right away. I'm sure thay are OK though and I probably should invest in a good, powered USB hub. What's really strange is that for the past two days, only MFD2 would do the randon disconnect. After I added my 580GTX today, they both randomly disconnect/reconnect. Was that a symptom of the troubled V1 units? sweinhart3
Im not sure which version mine are but one of them randomly disconnected and reconnected even though they are connected to a powered usb hub. I plugged that particular one into a different powered hub and it hasnt disconnected since. Weird. V2 likely uses a different brand chip or updated chip stepping. Nothing the user would notice. Succellus
I have a keypad device that does that. I think its more a distribution power issue by the windows/motherboard than anything else (If PSU is ruled out), but i may be wrong. I do not have many USB devices, like 6 at max 8 all pluged at same time. Sometimes i hear the connect disconnect windows noise. When i disconnect something actively using power that symptom stop. DocSigma
I just recently received mine from provantage.com... It took a little over a month for them to ship to me from the distributor, which i'm assuming was Thrustmaster, and they were the V.2. I'm not sure if it took a month because they were out of stock or it was a distributor side delay, but they may have gotten a bunch in and may have some for immediate shipment. sndwv
Thanks guys. Unfortunately Zocobo appears to only ship within Germany though. I'll give another local retailer a try first and then go with Provantage (great price!).

sndwv
In case someone is looking for these in the Netherlands: I just received v2's from Bol.com. As of writing Zercom.nl and Informatique.nl are still shipping v1's. Interesting fact: while the contents of my v2 box appeared new/sealed, the outer box was re-sealed over cut tape, which might indicate TM has fixed/updated existing stock, but this is just speculation.
