Here's one i expected (and would be cool) to happen but it didn't. I like to taxi with the canopy open. Just out of curiosity i took off with the open canopy. Nothing happened! At 300 knots it would still work and closing perfectly :dontgetit:

canopy damage model is to be tweaked.

canopy would sure rip off with those forces slamming it.

Disable anti skid and the wheels will lock up but do not burst yet in the BETA. Hopefully in the final :music_whistling:

They already do :)

One of my last flights I landed with anti-skid off, and blew both main tires.

Trying not to skid off the runway, and correcting the sideways motion too hard, I also blew the nosewheel tire.

You can hear the wind resistance when you lower your gear. Also, the pitch of the aircraft drops from the drag of the landing gear.

not very realistic as the pilots helmet would cancel these sounds out, maybe in external views hear these effects more, real life pilot only hear radio chatter static , and ever so slight engine whine inpit.

No I disagree- at least in my own experience.

Buffeting of the gear also buffets the airframe.

But as simmers we don't have all the extra senses you get IRL, so these little things help tell us more about what our aircraft is doing, since we don't have that "seat-of-the-pants feel" you have IRL. :)

I noticed a important little thing for mission builders:

If you set the start-waypoint of a convoy to "on road", the convoy will automatically jump on the road. This was the behaviour in BS also.

But now the vehicles will start at the exact same position they was set in the editor. If they was set automatically on the road with a distance of 1m they will appear in the mission with this distance.

The behaviour of the convoy is now very awesome!

The first vehicle will start and the others will wait till the normal distance is given. The fast vehicles will drive slowly if a slow vehicle is in the convoy so they will stay together. If there is a space the vehicles on the front will drive slow and the vehicles on the end will drive faster to close up.

If you attack a convoy the vehicles will leave the road and "hide" in the ditch.

If you attack e.g. a T-80 with the GAU-8 it will drop smoke.

If you drop bombs on a (in my case) static Strela it will move so the bomb will miss.

Damn i ve been waiting for a responsive AI for decades ... would it be the beginning. Would they stop being simple seated ducks and move forward backward to avoid being hit, would they "engage devensive" manoeuvers ?

Not really a "small detail" but I love the fact that you can throw your head around to the engines (with the trackIR of course) and watch the bad guy's tracers come closer after strafing some ground units...

Always a reason to spare at least one tank!

Also not sure how many people have noticed since I haven't seen it mentioned but ED also revamped the A-10A model. Set an AI one and look at the brand new A. :)

Well it's the same level of quality as the C model. :)

The oxygen low light comes on at exactly 0,5L just as the real thing.

Pretty amazing !

It would be even better if the oxygen blinker/flow indicator was always indicating flow when switching to emergency or test-mask.

It's not really a detail, but something to do to enjoy many of the details.

Take off on a sunset/dusk flight and play Wagner's Vorspiel from Das Rheingold. Loud.

My eyes were wet.

Smoke particles respond to environmental changes like wind for example. Wind direction and strength alters smoke particles.
