This plane is in California Bay-area and it has the Polish colors under that dust.

I seriously doubt You saw Polish colors on Galeb. Perhaps it wasn't Galeb but a L-39 or some similar aircraft!

But Poland has similar colors as Croatia (red/White) squares so what you saw might be:

RAF PQ type Oxy mask

Here some images of the RAF style P or Q Oxy mask. The only real difference between the P and Q is the size. this particular example is as is currently worn by RAAF Hawk pilots. I have these in higher Res if required and the mask in my possession.

Ah man, sorry guys I do not know how to resize photos, Sorry about the huge photo.

Im taking the chance of be calling wise-ass, but this is not an NATO pilot.

Both the pilot and the plane in the background are Swedish. The plane is a JAS-39 Gripen. And last time i checked we (sweden) arent members of NATO.. yet!

That's an S-3 Viking.

I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!"

Right you are. Flash-backed to the Flight of the Intruder film for a second. Film/book/flightsim-those were the days.

Edit: here's the A-6. Have to say the view looks better from the S-3.

I always laugh at the pilots when I see them in those stupid trash bags.
