CAT_101st
I took the time to wright up a start up procedure for the DCS BS. copy and paste to your note book or Word to print out for latter use. If you find any problems feal free to tell me so I can make adjustments to it. Enjoy Start up procedures For the KA-50 Black Shark DCS game Written out by CAT_101 Using the producer’s note 1 WMP movie, I have written out step-by-step instructions to start up the KA-50 Black Shark. Turn on external power AC and DC. Turn on forward and rear fuel pumps. Enable the fuel gauge and test it. Enable the APU fuel shut off valve. Turn on anti collision light. Turn on standby attitude indicator power. That will start to spin up the gyro. On the back wall turn on the INU power. Put the engine selector switch to the left to select the APU. Hit the Start-up selected engine ignition button. Watch the APU gauge. When the 3rd light comes on you have enough power to start up the main engines. Back to the engine panel. Enable the left and right engine fuel shutoff valves. Enable the left and right Electric Engine Governor’s. Place the engine select switch to the bottom left (left engine) Disable rotor brake. (black lever on left side of seat) Hit the Start-up selected engine ignition button. Watch the engine RPM gauge. When it gets to 18% RPM bring up (open) the left engine cutoff valve. (Red levers above the rotor brake). While waiting for the engine to reach 70% RPM you can test some of the gauges. Now that the left engine is at 70% RPM select the right engine. (lower right position) Hit the Start-up selected engine ignition button. When it gets to 18% RPM bring up (open) the right engine cutoff valve. (Red levers above the rotor brake). While waiting for the engine to reach 70% RPM you can test the lamp indicators. Once both engines are at idle power (70% RPM). you can now increase the engine power up two (2) clicks to automatic setting. (the yellow levers on back left panel) Watch the rotor RPM. It must be between 80% to 100% RPM (between the red marks). Now that the engines are turning the on-board generator, Turn on the AC left and right generators. (batteries) Disable the external power. (AC and DC) Turn on the ABRIS power. Turn on the intercom system. Turn on VHF-1 and 2. Turn on the Radio equipment datalinks (3 switches next to comms). Arm the ejection seat. Turn on the weapons control power. Disengage the APU. Turn on master HDY (hydraulics). Turn on the IFF Turn on Target and Navigation Turn on lights as needed. Adjust dials for lights as needed. Arm the countermeasure dispenser. Turn on the laser warning system. Tune the VHF-1 Radio (R-829) Set the ADF radio Set the Shkval scan speed rate. (recommend setting to one (1)) Turn on the AP (autopilot) stability control. Set to radar. Set NAV master switch to "Route". Select a WP (waypoint) in the INS system. Make sure HSI is in automatic mode. Check the ABRIS has good sat (Satellite) tracking. Uncage the standby indicator and adjust. Adjust the ADI and test Set the warning altitude and test. Do a BIT test ton VHF-2 radio. Enable the Shkval targeting-navigation system. Set laser standby to "ON". Turn master arm "ON". Adjust the Shkval brightness and contrast. Adjust the HUD brightnessYou are now ready to go out and accomplish a mission. 1 Home built PC Win 10 Pro 64bit, MB ASUS Z170 WS, 6700K, EVGA 1080Ti Hybrid, 32GB DDR4 3200, Thermaltake 120x360 RAD, Custom built A-10C sim pit, TM WARTHOG HOTAS, Cougar MFD's, 3D printed UFC and Saitek rudders. AlphaOneSix
The engine/rotor gauge is not read in RPM, it's read in percent. So instead of 1800, 7000, 10000 RPM, your document should read 18, 70, and 100 percent.
CAT_101st
The engine/rotor gauge is not read in RPM, it's read in percent. So instead of 1800, 7000, 10000 RPM, your document should read 18, 70, and 100 percent. the engine and rotor have seprate gagues. The engine clearly has a RPM gauge and the producer says RPM ( watch video time index 3:40-3:50) the same with the rotor (time index 5:25-5:35) In the vid he clearly says "you want the rotor at about 9000 RPM betwean the two red lines" as well if you watch the ABRIS notes you can see the gauge and it says RPM right on it.(that is the engin RPM gauge) If you want to think of it in % that is just fine with me. Home built PC Win 10 Pro 64bit, MB ASUS Z170 WS, 6700K, EVGA 1080Ti Hybrid, 32GB DDR4 3200, Thermaltake 120x360 RAD, Custom built A-10C sim pit, TM WARTHOG HOTAS, Cougar MFD's, 3D printed UFC and Saitek rudders. You still want the needle in the right place, though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
ED Team Wags Posted January 8, 2008 ED Team Share Posted January 8, 2008 Yes, that is correct, I should have said as a percentage. A thousand pardons.
