Ok, how about:

- auxillary lighting units
- aircraft maintenance vans
- a grouping of aircraft maintenance personnel working on an invisible aircraft so it can be placed around a static on the pad
- more port facility structures
- better container ships and tankers
- better shipping containers
- fishing vessels - commercial and private
- proper, modern fire trucks
- a whole plethora of unmodeled military vehicles
- infrastructures like power lines and above ground water tanks
- oil pipelines and facilities (we have the derricks)

The sky is the limit - the community can add a whole new level of depth and detail - something that will be needed if helo operations are going to become an attractive alternative to fast movers.
Oscar this is a very good point that you made...

Working on aircraft mods is very interesting and some of the aircraft that are in the present game really do need to be reworked.

But I think that one of the best reasons for getting involved in this tool is to rework the landscape...

It would be cool to see complete citys shown with new structures as well as older architecture which I think seems to be missing....

And as far as damage to these citys I think it could be depicted more extensivley....

I mean to give a more realistic impression of a war there should be completeley scorched areas of ground with burned out buildings and damaged
trees and autos just strewn about...

I'm not sure if the new tools can be used for this but they should be.....

I just found an awesome tutorial on 3dsMax. Though its for version 6, it still teaches you all you really need to know.

Its from lynda.com:

nice find, ill be sure to check it out.

If you want to look at nice model you should check out http://www.meshfactory.com/catalog/i...hp?cPath=21_22

Great aircraft models but it comes with a price and the poly count will bring lock on to its knees. But it still looks cool.

Wow those are nice. They look an awful lot like the ones going up on FighterOps site.

Bring lomac to its knees.
Why? This hummer has only 250,000 polys

But more interesting is this Abraham Lincoln:

im not talking about the hummers, its more like the planes that will be the fps killers due to the hi poly count. And yes they do look a lot like Fighter Ops because one of the the molders IIRC works at the mesh factory and they modify the models into less ploy count to fit that sim.

Makes sense. What are approximate poly counts for current lockon models?

I saw a mod for the 29k.......I think it was at lockonfiles or the jaBog website. Check the JaBog website first.

And I hooked cool_t up earlier today when my internet was working.
