Home Fries
Have you guys decided how you're going to implement the manual crank for the gear handle? One thing some of the hotshots liked to do was start the gear down, then pull positive g's to pull the gear the rest of the way. Then they would just finish the cranking motion to lock it in place. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide Link to comment

kontiuka
Sorry, this is a little OT but with these carrier planes (F4F and F8F), are there thoughts of an actual carrier at some point? Link to comment

And sales for programmable sticks with macro capability will go through the roof. :D EDIT: Whatever you do, please don't tie it strictly to the mousewheel. At least allow a click and pull so we don't inadvertently click on the middle mouse button in the process and screw up our views as well (looking at the ADF in the Huey). Random
Are they hydraulic or mechanical? Talk to cranking makes me think mechanical. Link to comment
OilcanHarry
Very nice, but seems to me, if I recall correctly, when they flew from the carriers, they were pretty much doing it in the Pacific. And that would indicate Japanese planes as the main opponent. But I am no expert on carrier placement in WW2, and perhaps they did have a carrier or two off the coast of France......NOT hahaha. Any plans we might be interested in that your not telling us about? Link to comment

Any plans we might be interested in that your not telling us about? Not on the Japanese front, We have no Japanese aircraft in our dev roadmap, at least not for the next 4-5 Years Our focus is purely on the EU / Africa Theatre as well as aircraft that have served with the UK armed Forces Pman Link to comment
joey45
F4F was used by the Royal Navy before america joined in ;) First kill with the RN The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. streakeagle
Ultra-realistic hand crank: linear axis connected to threaded bolt with length and threads to equal number of turns required to actually raise/lower gear on real aircraft. When you turn crank connected to bolt, analog axis values in direct proportion to position of bolt. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Link to comment
SilentGun
Wow... seeing this aircraft in the roadmap is fun and all but it looks like its just a planned aircraft. Actually seeing this aircraft working is a whole new story! it looks amazing! cant wait for it considering it was one of my favorite WWII aircraft! Great job VEAO!!! Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Vipers will fly along side Tomcats... Bugs with Superbugs, Tiffy's with Tornado's, Fulcrums with Flankers and Mirage with Rafales... :)The Future of DCS is a bright one:) Link to comment
PLP
Wow that looks awesome. Way to put pressure on the rest of the team guys:). As for the hand crank I hope someone will make a FFB one, so that we can see Wildcats snake up and down after take off to lighten the load of the gear on multiplayer servers :D.
