Dear Developers:

All Bf-109 from G to K engined with Daimler-Benz DB-605, was equipped with electric-inertia starter motor and crank coupling for back-up.

All DB-605 was equiped with this "Schwungkraftanlasser" (inertia starter)with electric throwing motor.

"Schwungkraftanlasser" inertia starter used on the Junkers Jumo 211/213 and Daimler-Benz DB603/605 aircraft angines. It could be used in conjunction with a "Anlasswagen" which was a gas-powered generator that would plug in the socket (usually located on the starboard side of the aircraft) and provide enough amps to crank the electric motor on the starter over when the starter handle was depressed until the internal flywheel had reached sufficient velocity and then the starter handle would be quickly pulled, engaging the "Kuppelmagnet" solenoid which would engage the engine and spin it over. Otherwise the starter could be hand-cranked by ground personnel until it was spinning fast enough and engaged using the same method of pulling the starter handle.

All Bf-109 G to K can start the engine autonomously just like this Bf-109 G4

You already have electric inertial starter. Go to controls, engine controls and asign a button (don't works with keyboard) for signal starter crew. Starter turns without use the radio.

I thought "signal starter crew " means tell the ground crew to crank the flywheel up to speed with a hand crank.

So you are suggesting that "signal starter crew" means tell ground crew to plug in the anlasswagon, external portable generator.

Can the electric starter motor run without external power? From the onboard battery ?

in page 21 say:

""Incidentally, contrary to the accepted idea, the DB 605 was equipped

with an electric starter permitting in-flight restart."""

It has already been established by yo-yo months ago that we have a K4 with inertial starter.

Anyway, you can go to options and assign a key for crank inertial starter without use comms that in fact is the same for practical purposes.

The engine of your photo probably is not our K4.

There were many variables at the end of the war and probably not all documented.

Siegfried, I think you haven't read my quote or the book which i'm refering.

I m sharing with all that Jean-Claude Mermet said in his book.. and this is the information that I have about the starting system in DB605 engines, installed in the Bf-109 G to K series.

Even I do not have the wiring diagram of the Bf-109K4, ..but if I find more information I'll show it here.
